Australian Shepherd fanciers have an excellent history of maintaining their specialty headquarters and show site in good condition. Rings, grooming areas, and hotel rooms occupied by its members are expected to be left with no damage and as clean as possible after the National Specialty is over. As a measure of ensuring that this standard will be met, the following policies will be enforced during the week: 1. No dog should be left uncrated in a hotel room in the absence of occupants at any time. Limit 4 dogs per room. 2. Dogs that constitute a nuisance to occupants of the hotel by continual barking or howling may subject their owners to being removed by the hotel. 3. There will be no grooming of dogs in hotel rooms. Grooming will be permitted only in the area set aside for that purpose. 4. No dogs shall be washed in hotel bathtubs; and hotel towels are not to be used on dogs for drying them, or other grooming purposes. 5. The external and internal premises of the hotel and show site must be kept free of debris and feces caused by the presence of dogs attending the show. Everyone must pick up after their dog(s). 6. The Show Committee may be called upon to inspect a room because of signs of unusual wear or damage because of the presence of dog(s) and will enforce appropriate damage compensation to the hotel as necessary. 7. All dogs will be on leash at all times except when competing in performance events. Dogs found in an unsafe environment, distress, or harm’s way (for example, left unattended on a grooming table; left in a vehicle without proper ventilation or in unsafe temperatures) will be removed to safety. Exposing a dog to an unsafe environment, distress or harm’s way is considered mistreatment. Exhibitors are responsible for the care and behavior of their children and dogs on the show site. No puppies under two (2) months of age will be allowed on the show premises and/or ring/trial arena. Show premises will be clearly marked. For those renting golf carts, please be aware that you are subject to Oregon state driving laws. ALL golf cart drivers MUST have a valid Driver’s License in their state of residence in order to operate a golf cart. No drinking and operating golf carts. Those found in violation will be removed from the grounds for the duration of the show. The Willamette Australian Shepherd Club, The Australian Shepherd Club of America, Inc., and Linn County Expo, their show and trial chairpersons, agents, employees, members, etc., assume no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or spectators, their family, or to any of their dogs or property. No entry fees will be returned if the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or other causes beyond the control of the clubs. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to ensure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. All dogs must have proof of current rabies vaccination or titer. No smoking is allowed in any of the Expo buildings and is only allowed in designated areas. Free day parking is allowed in the main parking lot. Handicapped parking is available with valid identification only. Unloading zones are available for those purposes only. Violators may be towed!
