FLOWTHERM SYSTEMS BOOSTER DESCRIPTION
Standard sizes are available with flow rates up to 1200 gpm and boost pressures exceeding 200 psi. All of the FMV series boosters are UL listed and built to the
requirements of NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372 insuring the most dependable and safest delivery system of domestic water. The control system provides an energy
efficient solution to any booster application with algorithms which meet ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 without the need of remote sensors. The control panels can
interface with Building Automation Systems (BAS) including BACnet and LonWorks and are available with Scada Interfaces.
FlowTherm systems FMV series of booster pumps provide the highest in reliability for delivery of potable and reclaim water system in the industry. Every system is
built with series 300 stainless steel manifolds which are supported from the integral structural steel frame. Each system utilizes Xylem multistage pumps
constructed of stainless steel impellers and pumps sleeves and rugged cast iron or stainless steel pump bodies.
These booster systems are easy to startup and services with door mounted H/O/A switches and disconnects for each motor and isolation valves for each pump. The
tables and charts included with this brochure are for standard FlowTherm FMV booster systems. Non-standard systems are available in any capacity a configuration.
Contact FlowTherm systems for custom system requests.

FMV DUPLEX BOOSTER SELECTION
FMV series of duplex booster pump models are selected using the family of Duplex
Booster Capacity Curves for the duplex booster models (FMV2-XX) included in this
brochure.
The total required system design flow rate is typically determined by using the
fixture unit method and then converting the total fixture units to gpm using the
Hunter Curves. The required pressure boost of the system is typically determined
by adding the static lift required to the highest fixture, the friction loss of the system
at the maximum flow rate and then adding the minimum inlet pressure required at
the critical fixture.
The minimum suction pressure available at the booster pump inlet is then
subtracted to determine the required pressure boost. The Required Pressure Boost
shown on the capacity curves include all internal booster system pressure losses
so there is no need to include any additional booster system pressure losses when
using these capacity curves.
Standard duplex sizes are available with flow capacities in excess of 800gpm and
pressure boosts exceeding 200 psi.
Contact FlowTherm systems for custom sizes and configurations.

FMV TRIPLEX BOOSTER SELECTION
FMV TRIPLEX BOOSTER SELECTION
FMV series of triplex booster pump models are selected using the family of Triplex
Booster Capacity Curves for the triplex booster models (FMV3-XX) included in this
brochure.
The total required system design flow rate is typically determined by using the fixture
unit method and then converting the total fixture units to gpm using the Hunter
Curves. The required pressure boost of the system is typically determined by adding
the static lift required to the highest fixture, the friction loss of the system at the
maximum flow rate and then adding the minimum inlet pressure required at the
critical fixture.
The minimum suction pressure available at the booster pump inlet is then subtracted
to determine the required pressure boost. The Required Pressure Boost shown on the
capacity curves include all internal booster system pressure losses so there is no
need to include any additional booster system pressure losses when using these
capacity curves.
Standard triplex sizes are available with flow capacities in excess of 800gpm and
pressure boosts exceeding 200 psi.
Contact FlowTherm systems for custom sizes and configurations.

FLOWTHERM SYSTEMS CONTROLS
Aqualogic 1.0
Flowtherm Systems FMV series control
panels are UL Listed 508A Industrial
Control Panels.
The panels are available in NEMA 1,
NEMA 3R, NEMA 4 and NEMA 12
enclosures.
All panels require only a single point
power connection and include a door
mounted main disconnect and are SCCR
rated.
Aqualogic 1.2
Each motor is individually protected with
a motor system protection device and
have individual disconnect switches.
Aqualogic 2.0
All panels include door mounted H/O/A
switches for each pump and a Human
Machine Interface (HMI) for easy system
operation.
Custom built
available.

The control panel includes a PLC with
PID control algorithms providing highly
energy efficient solutions for any booster
application.
These algorithms include Dynamic Set
Point (DSP) adjustment which meets the
ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 without the
need of remote sensors.
Trend logging of all critical operation and
alarms is provided and displayed on the
door mounted HMI.
The control panels will interface with
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
including BACnet, LonWorks and other
systems.

WATER
Water reclamation systems are benefiting the world in which we live in many ways.
Reclaim systems help to decrease diverting water from limited resources and
sensitive eco-systems.
The final process of a reclaim system is the Water Pumping Station or Booster
Pump System.
FlowTherm systems has provided integrated pumping systems to boost the
pressure of reclaimed water for a wide variety of applications including:
 Supply water to urinals and water closets
 Irrigations systems
 Water make-up to cooling towers
Many of these systems include controls which integrate with SCADA or other
Building Management Systems.
