about the wide range of accommodation for older people in Walsall.

Introduction
There are many properties for older people across
the borough of Walsall. All of the properties in
this booklet are owned by Registered Housing
Providers. This means that the rent you pay is
controlled by government. In some cases
a service and support charge may be applied,
the Registered Providers will be able to give
you this information when you apply for a home
with them.

In some cases there are properties which are
available for younger people aged 30+ and 40+.
Please note, age restrictions provided in this
booklet were correct at the time of printing.
From time to time Registered Providers may review
the age restrictions of the properties.
In certain circumstances (such as disability),
younger tenants may be allowed to move into a
property for an older person. It is recommended
that you contact the Registered Providers of
choice to check the age restrictions in place and to
discuss your circumstances.

Kings Hill

Kings Hill is situated on the border between
Sandwell and Walsall. The scheme is set in
landscaped gardens, just off the main Darlaston
to Wednesbury Road. A good range of shops
can be found just a short bus ride away, and the
Wolverhampton to Birmingham Midland Metro line
runs from Wednesbury.

Kings Hill is one of Accord’s largest mixed
schemes, there are 120 general family apartments
on the scheme and 20 one bedroom sheltered

22 one bedroom apartments, 5 two bedroom
apartments and 3 one bedroom apartments to
accommodate people with mobility difficulties. The
scheme is over four levels, which are served by two

Maryvale Court
Glebe Street, Caldmore
Maryvale court is a sheltered housing scheme for
older people, close to Walsall town centre, bus
routes and medical centres. The scheme has close
links with St Mary’s the Mount Church and Mount
Housing Limited who provide support on site to
assist Tenants. The service works in partnership
with other agencies in Walsall including Age
Concern, Social Care and Inclusion and others to
make sure that the needs of tenants are met.

Tenants living at the scheme are able to access
housing related support services which can
help them to remain living independently in the
community. There may be a cost involved for this
service.
Maryvale court provides accommodation for 51
singles / couples. All flats have a fully fitted kitchen,

wheelchair access.

Asian Elders situated in Pleck close to shops and
a medical centre and a short bus ride from Walsall
town centre.

Apnar Ghar has 16 flats for singles / couples. All
flats have wheelchair access. In addition, there is a
property attached to Apna Ghar which is available
for up to 4 persons (family or group) needing
support in a culturally sensitive environment.

Asian elders which are referred by Social Care

Nehemiah has 1 age restricted scheme in Walsall,

Bentley
Bentley area is situated between Walsall and
Willenhall, and currently a focus of regeneration
activities. All our properties are a short walk from
an established local centre, with a variety of shops
and facilities. It is ideally situated with easy access
to both Walsall and Willenhall town centres via a
regular bus service.
Regeneration activities have included the
redevelopment of Bentley Centre, with a number
of new homes designed and built specifically to

Aldridge is served by a local bus service to Walsall,

Aldridge is located to the east of Walsall town
centre. The A454 Little Aston Road is the main

area known as “The Parade”. Shopping includes
the well-known shops and supermarkets and a
number of independent shops. There is also an
indoor market and a number of banks.
