1.0 - about dolita paris
“If you are a free-spirited woman and love yourself, you are my muse.”
- from an interview in Clutch July 6, 2009
Graceful, sensual, and seductive, each piece of the DOLITA collection carries its own rhythm and
melody of color and texture from the soul of a compassionate Parisian bohemian princess reborn as
an urban artist in New York. Crafted from exquisite hand-selected, wrinkle-free Lycra, DOLITA reveals
the beautiful soul and possibility in every woman.
Born in Normandy, Dolita Paris grew up in a middle class family in Paris. She developed an intense
passion for design at a very young age and started making her own clothes. As a result, she became
the haute couture designer for Jacques Esterel at the age of sixteen, when she was discovered on the
streets of Paris wearing clothes she had designed for herself. After 13 months with Jacques Esterel, she
designed a lingerie and swimwear line for a fine lingerie designer and a commercial label. The success
of this line gave her the confidence to create DOLITA Paris, her own line that seduced the Parisian
fashion world in just a few years.
In less than a month after starting her line, Dolita was Featured in Vogue, Glamour, ELLE, Cosmopolitan,
and on television. Her handcrafted creations were quickly snatched up by boutiques that include Maria
Luisa, Ais, Detaille, Les Galleries Lafayette and in cities all over France. Driven by passion and creativity,
she had sewn over 6,000 dresses herself, and quickly expanded sales into the United Kingdom, the
United States, Singapore, Israel, Japan, Spain and Dubai. All of this stopped in 1997, when she was
forced to take a long hiatus from her work for personal reasons.
In 2008, Dolita moved to New York, motivated by a quest to mirror the success and accolades she
had received back home in Europe. Without any financial backing or resources to spend on advertising,
Dolita organized her own fashion show on the streets of Bryant Park in New York City during Fashion
Week to announce her presence. She, alone, cut and sewed 52 dresses in three days and hired 25
models to don her white dresses for the event. One of these dresses caught the attention of Beyonce
who requested to wear it for a shoot, which appeared in Los Angeles Confidential magazine and also
for a shoot for Ebony magazine.
Celebrities who wear DOLITA include:
Isabelle Adjani, Mylene Farmer, Patricia kass, Vanessa Paradis, Madona, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Waris
Diries, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Halle Berry, Lauryn Hill, Laura G. Eastwood, Toni Braxton, Linda Evangelista,
Helena Cristensen, Claudia Schiffer, Sade, Nina Hagen, Beyonce, Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA

2.0 - about Model Life: The Dolita Paris Stories
We see a beautiful woman and we think she’s either got it all or has everything handed to her. Model
Life: The Dolita Paris Stories debunks this myth by revealing the real women behind the beautiful faces
that wear the DOLITA brand. The docu-series starts out by introducing Dolita and her inspirational
journey as a fashion designer. Viewers get a glimpse into the sometimes non-glamorous reality of what
it takes to make it in the world of high-fashion through the perspective of a hardworking, dedicated,
passionate designer who is poised to become a big name in the industry. Dolita’s inspirational story
and struggle serves as a backdrop to reveal the stories of each of Dolita’s models. As Dolita brings
viewers along on her journey in the world of high-fashion, viewers get to know the story of a different
DOLITA model each episode. By gaining unfiltered access into the real life, every day challenges and
triumphs of these beautiful women, viewers get to see what life as a high-fashion model is like in and
out of the limelight.
Some examples of stories we’ll explore include:
The mother of a young promising model, who’s concerned about the exploitation of beauty for money
in the fashion world
An ambitious young model who postponed college to devote 100 percent of her time to modeling
An unconventionally beautiful supermodel who’s motivated to develop the self-esteem of young
aspiring models
A twelve year-old vivacious singing sensation who’s destined to become the next Disney star
A recent Architect graduate who was discovered in a video shoot
The common bond that these women with such diverse lives have is the DOLITA brand, which reveals
the beautiful soul and possibility in every woman. So ultimately, the docu-series serves not only to debunk
the myths predominant in the fashion world, but also to communicate the soul of the DOLITA brand.
