MIDLAND Dog DOG TRAINING Midland TrainingCLUB Club President’s Report Presidents Report Term 1 2016 Welcome everyone for another year of training, I hope you all have a fantastic break and that you and your dogs are ready for the new year. We will have a few challenges this year with our car park, a new access road is under construction so that the council can start work on the new roundabout for Bishop road and Great Northern Hwy, we are not too sure yet how much this will impact on us but we will keep you informed. We are planning to have a demo night possibly in the second term , showcasing most of the sports you can do with your dogs. PAGE 4 PAGE 9 LEADS COLLARS GENTLE LEADERS DUMBELLS MIDLAND Dog DOG TRAINING Midland TrainingCLUB Club MIDLAND DOGTraining TRAINING Club CLUB Midland Dog Code of Conduct 1. 2. 3. Closed shoes must be worn while training. No smoking. It’s your responsibility to supervise your children at all times. Dogs must be on a lead at all times, unless instructed otherwise. Membership badges must be worn. Remember to pick up after your dog. 4. 5. 6. Doggy Etiquette Please ensure you have full control of your dog at all times. Like humans, dogs need their personal space. Please check with other handlers before letting your dog approach another. Some timid dogs can be greatly stressed when boisterous dogs approach, sometimes causing aggression. Some of our dogs are still learning to be nice to each other and progress can be hindered after an unpleasant encounter. You may see a yellow ribbon or scarf used to indicate a very timid dog. Training Treats This is a wonderful training treat for dogs. It has the consistency of fudge so you can break off different sized pieces and the dogs can eat them quickly without a mess. It is also "smelly" so your dog can anticipate the treat! You must store it in the refrigerator or freezer. Tuna Fudge Ingredients 2 (185 gram) cans tuna (do not drain) 1 1⁄2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon garlic powder 2 eggs, lightly beaten 1 ⁄4 cup parmesan cheese 1. Mix all ingredients with an electric mixer until well blended. 2. Spread mixture into a greased cake pan. 3. Bake covered at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. 4. Store in refrigerator or freeze. Please remember to sign in at the table and pay your $2 grounds fee to your instructor each week. Please clearly print your name (not your dog’s!) and which class you are in to help with our records.
