NEW: 5111 Chestnut Hill Road, Center Valley, PA 18034 Chestnut Hill Church: Celebrating 125 Years Chestnut Hill Church, located in Lower Milford Township, will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone for the present church building on Nov. 17. During the 10am worship service, the church’s religious history and heritage will be traced. At 2pm will be a recount of CHC’s story, placing it in the larger historical context of the late 19th century. There’ll be some fun with a trivial pursuit, multiple choice quiz to help understand the church’s past, followed by a viewing of the present and future in their cultural contexts. All are welcome to both events. Lunch will be served and a reception will follow the 2pm event. The completion of a handicapped restroom, new office space, and a major repair on the 140 foot high steeple will also be celebrated. Chestnut Hill Church is a centuries old landmark in the community. Although there’s reason to believe the origins of the congregation date to the 1720s, the present church building is the third building atop Chestnut Hill, named for the presence of chestnut trees in previous years. Come join in celebration of history and God’s work in this small corner of Lower Milford Township.
