OUR STORY:
Creating the DayClear® Formula
Odes Mitchell was already active in the pharmaceutical industry when his son faced a
personal difficulty that forever changed the
family’s perspective on OTC medicine. After
several long years of struggling with illness,
Mason Mitchell was diagnosed with celiac
disease. Thus began the tedious struggle of
finding products suitable to his new dietary
needs. As Texas natives, the Mitchells were
no strangers to severe allergy seasons. Mason
struggled to find an allergy medicine that
would alleviate his allergy symptoms, without
causing more side effects and symptoms
from his gluten intolerance. Odes recognized

quickly began to formulate a solution for his
son and other celiac disease sufferers. Thus,
DayClear® was born. Now, the product line is

Odes Mitchell began his journey in the
pharmaceutical industry in 1983, working hands-on in
the field that would soon become his permanent path.
Several years of learning on the job led to a deep understanding of the industry. Soon, Odes realized there
were opportunities in the marketplace that other manufacturers were not seizing. In 1991, he opened GM
Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and began the backbreaking, tedious work that comes with building a company.
Odes brings a combination of pharmaceutical knowledge and business-minded savvy to fill an opportunistic niche through his role. His sights are not set on

Leah Mitchell began working for GM Pharmaceuticals,
Inc. while still a student at Texas Tech University. Due
to her diligence and commitment to the company after
her graduation, Leah assumed the role of Director of
OTC brands to help launch the GM Pharmaceutical OTC
product division. Under her guidance, the division saw
tremendous success propelled by the launch of VanaPain®, a liquid pain reliever, which has seen immense
growth nationwide. With years of business studies,
hands-on experience and pharmaceutical training,

Soon after graduating from Texas Tech University,
Mason Mitchell began working for the family-owned
company. His extensive knowledge of the company’s
prescription and OTC products supported his unparalleled expertise and insight into the pharmaceutical
field.
But Mason is more than just an employee; he is the inspiration for the new, revolutionary DayClear® product
line. After years of battling incessant illness, fruitless
treatments and unsuccessful trips to the doctor, Mason
was finally diagnosed with celiac disease. At the age of
25, he was forced to adopt new habits and begrudgingly learn the trials and tribulations of living with severe

Q: DO ALL MEDICINES CONTAIN GLUTEN, DYE, SUGAR, ACETAMINOPHEN
OR ALCOHOL?
A: Many OTC medications contain gluten because it is used as an excipient. Excipients are
inactive ingredients that form the vehicle for
delivery of the active ingredient. For someone with celiac disease, this can be problematic.
Sugar, artificial flavoring and dye are often
found in liquid medicines because of the syrup-like substance. DayClear® is not a thick syrup, but is instead more of a water consistency.
DayClear® and NiteClear® are also flavor-free,
ridding the formula of distasteful flavor imitations.
Alcohol is used in some over-the-counter
medications to keep ingredients in stable
form. Formulas for anyone ages 12 and over
may have up to 10% alcohol in them. However, alcohol is unnecessary in the DayClear®
and NiteClear® formulas, therefore they remain alcohol free.
