Such classic albums as “Tooth and Nail”, “Under Lock and Key” and “Back for the Attack” all became MultiPlatinum selling smashes and the live “Beast from the East” went gold in Europe and Japan. Songs like “Alone Again”, “Just Got Lucky”, “Into the Fire”, “In My Dreams”, “Unchain the Night”, “Dream Warriors”, “Burning Like a Flame” and “Heaven Sent” are still nowadays regarded among the genre’s finest. DOKKEN 10:15PM – 11:45PM WEST STAGE – ROCK Dokken shared the stage with AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Kiss, Scorpions, as well as Bon Jovi, just to name a few. The band hit stadium status in 1988, playing in front of over a million fans in just five weeks. It seemed Dokken was on the verge of superstardom. But like so many other bands that have come before and after them, they broke up in 1989. In 1994 the legendary A&R man John Kalodner offered Dokken a recording contract on the condition the group had to be original members. The band released the appropriately titled “Dysfunctional” in 1995, selling 250,000 copies which by the mid ‘90s was considered by industry standards very respectable. Dokken was really happy and excited, but just as they were on the verge of releasing a second single, filming a video, starting a world tour and “taking it all the way”, as Don Dokken puts it, the baggage from their past reared its ugly head, and again the group began to unravel. Dokken are now coming back with their eleventh studio album. Broken bones DOKKEN is Don Dokken (vocals), Mick Brown (drums), Jon Levin (guitar) and Sean Mcnabb (bass). The album was mixed by Wyn Davis (Great White, Dio). THE DONNAS JUNE 15 FRIDAY TWENTY-TWELVE The Donnas “Greatest Hits Vol. 16” Bio The last time the Donnas played my town, one of them ended up face down on the hood of a cop car, arms behind her back, handcuffs cutting off the circulation to her clenched fists. Her crime? Drinking whiskey in the streets of Canada. Yes, The Donnas are for real and they are here to stay. They are a loud and proud American original. They are a band of influence, survivors in an industry known more for comet casualties than career success stories. And the Donnas really are a savvy, brazen success story; they are the American Rock n’ Roll Machine. 8:15PM – 9:45PM WEST STAGE – ROCK The legend begins in a Palo Alto junior high school in Northern California where four self-described “dorky pre-teen girls” form a rock n’ roll band at the age of 13 in 1993, under the influence of KISS, Motley Crue, and the Ramones. Over the course of the next 16 years, eight ever-evolving, critically acclaimed rock n roll albums are released. The Donnas jet-set the planet several times over to an ever-expanding, international fan base of rabid “Donnaholics”. From Palo Alto to the stages of Letterman and Saturday Night Live, to the pages of Rolling Stone and the cover of Billboard, The Donnas have grown up to become one of the best female rock groups of all time. Sixteen sweet years later, the exact original line-up remains intact: Brett Anderson on lead vocals, Maya Ford on bass, Allison Robertson on guitar and Torry Castellano on drums–a steadfast longevity that is testament to their deep four-way friendship and career dedication. But there is a vast divide between the awkward tweens of the 1990s and The Donnas of the 2000s. Besides utterly poker-hot musicianship, the gorgeous foursome has entered into a new chapter of maturity, comfort, and nostalgia, looking back on their long career of growing up Donnas. “It feels almost exactly the same as when we were 13 years old rehearsing and writing together” states Robertson, one of the best rock guitarists, female, male or otherwise, playing today. “The Donnas are a true gang in every sense of the word. We will always be unified as friends first, and that is why we have lasted so long”. To celebrate 16 legendary years of pounding out head-banging, fist-pumping rock and roll together, on July 7, 2009, The Donnas unleash a career-spanning retrospective entitled The Donnas Greatest Hits Vol 16, on their own Purple Feather Records. THE DONNAS JUNE 15 FRIDAY TWENTY-TWELVE 8:15PM – 9:45PM WEST STAGE – ROCK “I am so glad we decided to make a Greatest Hits because it let us relive some of the best moments of our career” says power-house lead singer Brett Anderson. “Part of the charm of those early songs is their lo-fi sound, but it was fun to give them a supercharged makeover now that we've played them live so many times”. The 16 track hits package features two brand new songs, two neverbefore-heard bsides from their selfreleased 2007 album Bitchin’, and live versions of hits “Take It Off” and “Fall Behind Me”. And Donnaholic supergeeks rejoice: also included are “I Don’t Wanna Break Your Head” and “Teenage Rules”, two extremely rare, unreleased tracks from the band’s now-classic debut album. “We’re very excited about those two tracks” says Allison Robertson. “They were meant to be released in Japan years ago but never came out. We thought they were long gone, and all we had were foggy yet fond memories of how the tunes actually went." The Donnas also re-recorded five tracks, remixed one and included two alternative versions of songs from their hugely influential Lookout! Records catalog (1998- 2001). “Re-recording our older songs was like opening a time capsule” says Brett.” I could almost smell the donuts baking in the middle of the night next to the Mail Boxes Etc. where we recorded our very first songs”. The Donnas: a four-way, equal partnership of women in friendship, art and business. A rare trust exists between these members that most bands could never dream of achieving in a similar group dynamic. That is why most bands break up and The Donnas continue to stick together and thrive, celebrating sixteen candles… and counting. … and when they come back to rock Canada, the whiskey is on me. - Grant Lawrence, Rock and Roll Music Journalist, Vancouver BC Canada FRIDAY JUNE 15 TWENTY-TWELVE JASMINE CAIN 6:15PM – 7:45PM WEST STAGE – ROCK Picture a gothic cathedral in a forgotten forest. Sound pulses with the wind as banchees on nightmares gallop to pay homage to their queen. This is the magic of Jasmine Cain. She brings her gifts to the stage, and though small in stature, her voice can echo the halls where she is performing and beyond as if coming directly from the gates of heaven. Her melodies draw you in like a siren's call to the rocks, conjuring ghosts and angels, mixing mirth and magic. She flashes demon eyes one moment, only to skip across the stage with lilting laughter the next. She is a mythic rock goddess with hair aflame, then, just a quickly, a pixie with an axe looking for mortals to mesmerize. She is Jasmine Cain. Known for setting the stage on fire at biker runs and rallies across the country, Jasmine's music is both raw and sweet. In September 2009, she broke the record for most awards in the history of the Just Plain Folks (JPF) Awards in Nashville, winning a mind blowing six awards for all unsigned artists worldwide! Her new CD, Locks & Keys includes 10 incredible songs, from harddriving rock to powerful ballads and even a bit of southern rock. One listen will convince you that Jasmine Cain is poised to take over the rock world, one devotee at a time. FILTER KINGS JUNE 15 FRIDAY TWENTY-TWELVE T H E 8:00PM – 9:30PM CENTER STAGE – OUTLAW COUNTRY "Mark displays great instincts for the best traditions of American blues-based guitar playing, for the classic tones and colors of the electric instrument - you can hear influences ranging from Hendrix to modern takes, like Robben Ford, Colin James or even a hint of Chris Isaaks. The band shows that they are perfectly capable of handling their vehicle as it heads down familiar roads - I think the band has the potential to offer something really special." - Rik Emmett, Founding member of Triumph, Canadian Music Hall of Fame Guitarist / Songwriter The Filter Kings blend rock, blues and a splash of funk to ensure that every performance becomes a groove! Formed in Buffalo, NY in October of 2000, The Filter Kings have been busy performing at numerous venues around the East coast. In June 2001, guitarist Mark Krurnowski won second place in the North American Rock Guitar competition held during the first annual WNED Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival. The Filter Kings have had the opportunity to perform with such national acts as Blues Traveler, Blue Oyster Cult, Rick Springfield, James Cotton, Marcia Ball, Omar & The Howlers, Rik Emmett, Peter Frampton and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. The band is currently hard at work promoting their debut CD, which features eleven original tracks. You can see them in Buffalo, WNY, Southern Ontario and Rochester. Take a listen to their MP3 clips to capture the spirit of their live performances. FRIDAY JUNE 15 TWENTY-TWELVE sonny ausTin band 6:00PM – 7:30PM CENTER STAGE – OUTLAW COUNTRY The Sonny Austin Band is a mix of Rock, Country and Blues. These singers & musicians are well seasoned, and their unique sound comes from a varied blend of inspirations and roots. They do cover favorites and original tunes too, and their sound comes together as a crowd pleasing good feelin’ boogie rockin’ sound. Come see why they are one of the busiest bands rockin’ Siouxland. F R I D A Y matt d & the JUNE 15 TWENTY-TWELVE profane saints 10:00PM – MIDNIGHT CENTER STAGE – OUTLAW COUNTRY "I have been in and around music, and the business of music, since the early 1970s. In all of that time I have heard a lot of bad music, a lot of good music, but very little GREAT music. This is GREAT music; well written, well played, solidly produced. "Dirt Town City Limits" is, from beginning to end, the finest example of Americana Rockabilly I have ever heard. I listen to it almost daily, and hear something new every time. It stacks up with Haggard, Cash, Elvis, and kicks the liver out of most major label attempts in this genre." - Jim Pipkin, Independent reviewer and contributor HickoryWind.org Singer-Songwriter Mathew deRiso has been performing on American stages since 2003. Hailed by critics as "A young Steve Earle with a more powerful set of pipes" with music likened to "Johnny Cash on steroids" Mat combines elements of folk, blues, rock n roll and traditional country into a sound best described as hardluck Americana. His recordings have earned him numerous album of the year nods from the Folk and Americana music communities as well as earning him the privilege of performing alongside an impressive list of songwriters and performers including David Allan Coe, John Hiatt, the Bottle Rockets, Reverend Horton Heat and Whitey Morgan and the 78's. He has performed with band mates the Profane Saints since 2006, which featured a revolving line-up until 2008. The group consists Jeff Deignan on percussion, Kurt Mullins on guitar and Bob Birch on bass. All of the band's recordings are self produced and engineered with guitarist Kurt Mullins at the production helm. KElly richey JUNE 15 FRIDAY TWENTY-TWELVE 10:30PM – Midnight EaST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Passionate and electrifying, Kelly Richey is a master guitarist. She has been compared to such greats as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt. A professional touring musician for over 30 years, Kelly enjoys playing traditional blues, blues-based rock, indie folk and ambient blues. Infusing the music with her own inimitable style, Kelly is unique and stands among the best guitarists known today. A powerful singer and songwriter as well, Kelly will astonish you with her scorching leads, powerful vocals, and solid, well-honed musical sensibility. Kelly Richey has been described as “Stevie Ray Vaughan trapped in a woman’s body with Janis Joplin screaming to get out.” That’s an apt appraisal of the Lexington, Kentucky native who’s been based in Cincinnati for many years. Richey has often been compared to such greats as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan because of her ability to capture and entertain an audience with ripping guitar leads that both sing and astonish. F R I D A Y THE TERRY JUNE 15 QUIETT BAND TWENTY-TWELVE 8:30PM – 10:00PM EAST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK In the last two years the Terry Quiett Band has played over three-hundred shows across America’s Heartland and worked with a Grammy winning Producer Jim Gaines. They have been from 6th Street in Austin to the Windy City of Chicago, they've mesmerized audiences with their original and contemporary blues-soaked sound. They've also paid their share of dues (and tolls) traveling the Rocky Mountains of Denver, down Beale Street in Memphis and every state in between, winning fans and expanding their core grassroots audience with each performance. In 2011 they released "Just My Luck" on Lucky Bag Records while staying in the Top 25 for 12 weeks and then making the Top 75 played CD's on the National Roots Music Report made their sophmore release a success. Along the way they have shared the stage with great people such as Jonny Lang, Robert Cray, 38 Special, BB King, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Los Lonely Boys, Robin Trower, Tab Benoit, Robert Randolph and the Family Band and numerous other talented artists. FRIDAY EMILY JOHNSON & THE AUDACITY BLUES BAND TWENTY-TWELVE 6:30PM – 8:00PM EaST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK JUNE 15 Formed as an off the cuff, impromptu group by singer Emily Johnson in late 2010, Emily Johnson & The Audacity Blues Band was merely a way for Johnson to have some fun playing music while visiting her hometown of Sioux City, IA from Colorado Springs, CO. Selling out their first ever show with less than one hour of rehearsal under their belt, Emily and the band realized they were on to something good. Playing a mix of down and dirty blues, rock & roll, and classic soul and R&B, they left the audience wanting more. Fast forward to 2012, Emily Johnson has relocated back to her hometown and reunited with the Audacity Blues Band consisting of local musicians Kelli Glasgo - Vocals/Guitar, Mitch Martin - Guitar, Charles Sanders - Keyboards, Tom Hunting - Bass, and Matt VanMeter - Drums. Though they may be new to the scene, the band is far from inexperienced. Members of the ABB have played with and shared the stage with musicians such as Indigenous, Buddy Guy, Little River Band, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Kim Simmonds & Savoy Brown, Shannon Curfman, & Devon Allman’s Honeytribe. Keep your eyes out and your ears open for Emily Johnson & The Audacity Blues Band! FRIDAY JUNE 15 TWENTY-TWELVE NOVEMBER 35TH 5:00PM – 6:00PM EaST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK November 35th was formed in June 2011 by 15 year olds Evan Kaler (Lead Guitar), Casey Cakebread (Rhythm Guitar & Bass), and Evan’s 11 year old brother Jacen Kaler (Drums). Following her middle school talent show performance, the boys invited 14 year old vocalist, Anna Grote, to complete the line-up. The band’s first performance was at the 2011 Sgt. Bluff Pioneer Valley Days BBQ. They have since performed at the Okoboji Roof Garden for the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association’s Hall of Fame Inductions celebration, the Sioux City Public Museum Backyard BBQ, and Hubbard, NE’s Hoot Owl Days, just to name a few. Some of their upcoming performances include, Awesome Biker Nights, Saturday in the Park, as well as being invited back to IRRMA’s Hall of Fame celebration on Labor Day weekend! The music they enjoy and perform includes: The Beatles, Janice Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, as well as many other hits, past and present. SATURDAY BIG HEAD TODD JUNE 16 & the MONSTERS TWENTY-TWELVE Big Head Todd and The Monsters’ ninth studio album Rocksteady – due July 20 on the group’s Big Records imprint, distributed by Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group – finds the veteran Colorado band returning to their DIY roots and forging into surprising musical territory. Funky, lilting, and melodic, the new collection features founding members Todd Park Mohr (lead vocals and guitars), Rob Squires (bass), and Brian Nevin (drums), with keyboardist, steel guitarist, and backup vocalist Jeremy Lawton, who joined The Monsters in January 2004. Lawton produced and mixed the album. 10:15PM – 11:45PM WEST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Rocksteady cuts across a broad swath of stylistic terrain. “Beautiful,” the set’s first single, offers a sunny Caribbean vibe, as does the band’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Beast of Burden,” long a concert staple. “Back to the Garden” and the homage “Muhammad Ali” pulse with a roots rock groove, while the set’s title track is based in the like-named, revved-up Jamaican style that preceded reggae’s arrival in the late ‘60s. “I Hate It When You’re Gone,” dressed with a full horn section, is blazing old-school R&B, while a version of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Smokestack Lightning” is burning Chicago blues in a Monsters pocket. “It’s a soul/Caribbean record that rocks,” Mohr says. “We almost went out of our way to take all the rock out of it, but it really rocks. It’s the very first album we’ve ever done that’s this cohesive and focused. That's what makes it shine and stand out from our other albums. "Rocksteady is the latest chapter in a rock ‘n’ roll career that stretches back nearly 25 years. Founded in 1986 by Mohr, Squires, and Nevin, then University of Colorado students, Big Head Todd and The Monsters became one of the region’s most popular acts through constant touring. After issuing two popular independent releases on their Big imprint, the band hooked up with Irving Azoff’s Giant Records for the platinum album Sister Sweetly (1993). The Monsters issued four chart albums on Giant and Warner Bros. Their formidable reputation rests on their stage performances; Big Head Todd and The Monsters Live was recorded on the fabled H.O.R.D.E. tour. Over the years, the group has developed a close relationship with their fans: Their last album, All the Love You Need, was released as a free download, and was snapped up by half a million of The Monsters’ followers. SATURDAY BIG HEAD TODD JUNE 16 & the MONSTERS TWENTY-TWELVE 10:15PM – 11:45PM WEST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Rocksteady can be seen as Act One of a two-act Big Head Todd spectacular, since the band cut enough tracks to fill two CDs. A projected future release will include the sessions’ more hard-edged material. Mohr says, “We went into the studio and recorded over thirty songs. We've always been a versatile group with a wide range of influences and so our albums tend to be an eclectic mix of different genres of music. Somewhere along the line we realized we had a group of songs that fit together really well as a soul/R&B/Carribian kind of thing. So we set aside some of the harder rock stuff in order to focus on a soulful, danceable sound." Lawton adds, “We were noticing we had these two different directions in songs. Big Head Todd albums are always like a buffet – there’s always a rocker, and then there are a couple of mood songs, and then there are some R&B/soul songs. We said, ‘Let’s try to concentrate on one of the branches of the tree.’ We went towards this fun, happy R&B kind of sound.” Mohr attributes some of the funk in the Rocksteady sound to the influence of the late Nigerian Afrobeat titan Fela Anikulapo Kuti and his son Femi Kuti, whose work he had been listening to deeply, and to his ongoing fascination with reggae and its intersection with punk rock. While Big Head Todd and The Monsters have worked with such well-known producers as David Bianco, Jerry Harrison, and David Z, the band found their sound refreshed by working essentially on their own with Lawton at the helm in his home studio, recording on their own schedule. “Obviously, I have high regard for producers,” Mohr says. “In this case, I didn’t think anybody else was going to put the time into it – into following each strand. And being able to decide in the middle of something that you have two albums instead of one isn’t something you normally can do in a producer scenario. There is just too much pressure and not enough time. For me it’s all about being able to have the time and the resources to do things your way, and the right way. It’s only when you do it yourself that you have that luxury.” As ever, the hard-touring Monsters will go out to meet the fans this summer. “The quality of the relationship between the band and the fan is the most important aspect of our career,” says Mohr. “We’ve always realized that. That’s why we do cruises with fans, and we sign autographs after shows. We still try to play every request. We listen to our audience and do whatever we can to acknowledge that relationship.” SATURDAY JUNE 16 TWENTY-TWELVE LES DUDEK 8:15PM – 9:45PM WEST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Les Dudek is more a rock legend than a rock star. He’s a “musician’s musician” who has influenced the history of rock’n’roll, lend his powerful guitar and songwriting skills to several famous bands like The Allman Brothers, Boz Scaggs and The Steve Miller Band, and contributed to their fame with his sound. During all of that Les Dudek stayed under the radar, living his own life rather than a life in the lime-light. Chances are you’re a huge fan of guitarist Les Dudek but don’t even know it. The famous dual guitars you hear on “Ramblin’ Man” - Dickey Betts and Les Dudek. The cool rolling guitar on “Lido Shuffle” Les Dudek. Guitar on “Fly Like an Eagle” - Les Dudek. The catchy guitar riffs you hear on ESPN and Fox Sports Net - well, that’s also Les Dudek. To his fans, however, Les Dudek, is the ultimate solo act. His original music is like no other with a fusion of Southern Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soul - the stuff popular music is made of. In 2012 his newest CD, Delta Breeze, will be released, and Les Dudek will hit the road once again to promote his unique sound. Born in Rhode Island, raised in Florida, he earned his first accolades playing with the Allman Brothers who needed someone to fill Duane’s shoes after he died in a motorcycle accident in 1971. Les Dudek was the guitarist who fit and was invited into the recording studio for the Allman Brothers’ 1973 Brothers and Sisters album. He also helped Dickey Betts finish the song “Jessica” for which he played the acoustic guitar. His next stops were as a guitarist for Boz Scaggs and The Steve Miller Band. “I was working with Boz Scaggs, commuted back and forth from Macon, Georgia to San Francisco, California, touring with Boz.” He later appeared on the Silk Degrees album (1976). In 1974, Boz, with Les, special guested the Joker Tour with The Steve Miller Band. At the end of this tour, Miller invited Les up to Seattle, Washington to record some tunes that turned into classic hits on Steve Miller’s Fly Like An Eagle and Book Of Dreams (Capital Records), from which Les co-wrote “Sacrifice”. “Among musicians I am known as a ‘muso’. That’s someone who plays with lots of different bands,” said Les about himself. Indeed he has collaborated with Cher (Black Rose, 1980), Stevie Nicks (Rock A Little, 1985), Dave Mason (Old Crest On A New Wave, 1980), Maria Muldaur (Southern Winds, 1978), Richard T. Bear (Red, Hot and Blue, 1978), Bobby Whitlock (Rock Your Socks Off, 1976), Dudek, Finnigan, Krueger Band (self-titled album, 1980), toured with Steppenwolf, and probably a few more. SATURDAY JUNE 16 TWENTY-TWELVE LES DUDEK 8:15PM – 9:45PM WEST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Besides contributing his distinctive style to other recording artists, Les Dudek pursued his solo career. He signed with Columbia Records in 1975. At the same time, a manager called Les and asked him to come to a rehearsal hall in San Francisco to hear this new band he was nurturing. He wanted “the two guitar heroes” of the Bay area to be in the same band, “..and we’re going to call it Journey”. Les decided to be a solo artist for Columbia Records. He recorded four albums: Les Dudek (1976), Say No More (1977), Ghost Town Parade (1978) and Gypsy Ride (1981) His work was praised by critics but widespread fame eluded him. When Les realized that this was a road to nowhere he left Columbia. He later recorded two solo albums, Deeper Shades Of Blues (2001) and Freestyle (2003) and released them on his own label, E-Flat Productions. Fans all over the world are convinced that those last two CDs were his best work so far. Les Dudek is true to himself: “I want to build my own brand-name and my music is my legacy.” What kind of music does he play? - Les Dudek music, of course. SATURDAY JUNE 16 BLUE MOON TWENTY-TWELVE 6:15PM – 7:45PM WEST STAGE – BLUES/ROCK Blue Moon Band plays a variety of music... They dominate mostly in Blues, but also play Rock, Reggae and Country. Blue Moon Band started in 1996 after Tim Vollmer was “sitting in” with Jeff Williams Band “Mighty Mo.” The two really seemed to work well together and compliment each others playing. We decided to start our own band after a few sessions. Tim and Jeff were at Buffalo Alice having pizza and beer in 1996… that’s when Blue Moon Band was born. The band has played countless shows and shared the stage with many national acts over the years. The current line up is some of the best musicians Sioux City has to offer... Tim Vollmer (Vocals and Harp) Jeff Williams (Lead Guitar and Vocals) Jerry Steffen (Keyboards and Vocals) Eran Ellerbeck (Bass and Vocals) Corey Pithan (Drums) SATURDAY JUNE 16 TWENTY-TWELVE 3D IN YOUR FACE 10:00PM – MIDNIGHT CENTER STAGE – ROCK/80’S TRIBUTE 3D is not only just a 80’s tribute band. Their original material has become a standard, and different from any US metal band that exists today. The band has performed extensively, filmed a promotional DVD, appeared onstage with the legends such as Poison, Dokken, Firehouse, Slaughter, Skid Row, David Lee Roth, Vince Neil, Jackyl, Nightranger, Faster Pussycat, White Lion, Enuff Znuff and many more, and are now working on a brand new full length album. The music is best described as the metal you used to hear... heart pounding drums, melodic vocals, and a two guitar attack that has become the band’s trademark. They have signed a distribution deal with Perris Records. They are currently sponsored by the Miller brewing company, and they have gained extensive international recognition. They continue to do today what they have always done from the start...to prove that metal is alive. And right here: in your face. SATURDAY HER AND JUNE 16 KINGS COUNTY TWENTY-TWELVE 10:00PM – Midnight EAST STAGE – COUNTRY A great man once said, “Rock and Roll will never die. ”In the hands of the band HER & Kings County it will live on forever. The brainchild of Caleb Sherman and Monique Staffile, HER & Kings County was born in a Brooklyn apartment where banjos, and pedal steels competed with the horns and shouts of the city streets. Within the raw dirt of New York grew the sound that is HER & Kings County - City Country; a mix of bluegrass, hiphop, good ‘ol finger pickin’ country and rockin’ head-banging riffs. If Hollywood were casting a movie about a non-stop band-on-the-run, they need not look any further than the members of HER & Kings County. There’s Monique, the consummate front woman - Robert Plant, David Lee Roth, and Fergie all rolled into one; Caleb “KBC” Sherman holds down the musical fort playing just about any instrument ever made, in addition to producing and co-writing the band’s music; Brother Love on drums – the curly-haired Dean Martin, dedicated to the ladies; A Wonder on lead guitar is the “rock star’s rockstar” – somebody wake him up so we can get back on the road; F Bomb, the bass player, got his name cause the stage shakes and rumbles when he lays into his four string; and the bad man Justin “Jail Bird” Sherman, the guitar player your mother should have warned you about. From year to year and club to club, the band did what they only knew how – rock! After cutting their teeth in the city streets, they got in a van, packed their gear in a trailer and was rollin’ thunder down the highways and byways of America. From Hollywood, the Carolinas, Nashville, to deep in the heart of Texas, HER & Kings County have been everywhere - opening for Kid Rock, Montgomery Gentry, Charlie Daniels, and Dierks Bentley, to name a few. No matter the gig-clubs, bars, or arenas, the result is the same every time-- devastating. Harking back to the days of Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin, HER & Kings County’s live performance has become legendary. Their City Country sound has converted new fans to country and rock music alike. After hundreds of shows, and thousands of miles, the industry started to take notice. Sony, Universal, and Warner Music Nashville all wanted to be a part of their revolution, but it was Warner Music Nashville/ Elektra that won out in the end. When the ink on the deal stopped bleeding they joined forces with Red Light Management. With Elektra Nashville, Red Light and CAA, Monique, KBC, Jail, Brother Love, F Bomb, and A Wonder are roarin’ like a freight train, faster than ever, and are ready to take over the world. Whether it’s on the web or performing live, join HER & Kings County in raisin’ a little hell. SATURDAY JUNE 16 TWENTY-TWELVE JACOB MARTIN 8:30PM – 10:00PM EAST STAGE – COUNTRY Jacob Martin, an American country/rock band known for their catchy songwriting and their energy filled live performances, was created in 2007. After having played in many bands over the years, singer/songwriter extraordinaire Jacob “Martin” Ronfeldt, from Sioux City, Iowa finally decided to put together his own musical vision after connecting with Swiss born guitarist Marco Kielholz. Though starting out as a rock band, it soon became clear that the true calling and direction of the band, was to mix the best of both Jacob’s country roots with, guitarist and backing vocals, Marco Kielholz’s rock background. After reconnecting with Jacob’s childhood friend Dave Sieveking on bass & backing vocals, the trio went on to spend two years writing, producing, and recording their debut album “Country in the City.” The album features an incredible array of talent including; Jimmy Olander (Diamond Rio), 70’s icon Cynthia Johnson (Lipps Inc), as well as Nashville veterans like Chad Jeffers (Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood) and Dan Hochalter (Gretchen Wilson) to name a few. Minneapolis born drummer Josh Carlson completed the quartet in 2009 while recording the album. The band set out to write songs that people could relate to lyrically as well as musically. Their own unique blend of country & rock quickly earned them a faithful following along the Upper Midwest, and led them to appear alongside national acts such as James Otto, Justin Moore, and Jerrod Neimann, as well as high profile shows at Country Fest in Cadott, WI and at the Iowa State Fair. Singer Jacob Martin’s journey has been nothing short of astounding. Struck by polio in his childhood and battling addictions for many years, he overcame the odds by believing in his God given musical ability and his knack for writing stories that relate to issues people connect with. Jacob Martin’s songs accentuate the positive things in life and take the listener on a journey that touches on faith, love, forgiveness, friendships and family. Aside from being a charismatic performer, Jacob’s sense of humor shines through in songs like “Go on now Git” and “Along Came a Girl.” He recounts his struggle with polio which nearly left him paralyzed in the emotional “Frozen”, and is not afraid to give praise to his Lord & Savior in “God gave me you.” The single “How ‘bout a Ride”, with its heart pounding blend of rock guitars and fiddle, quickly gained the attention of radio stations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa, and has helped spread the word about the band. After getting noticed by music industry execs in Nashville, the band is currently in the process of relocating to Tennessee where it hopes to further it’s appeal and keep on spreading the word.
