Introduction
Getting Started
Genegrafter is a fast paced card
and dice game that pits genetically
enhanced characters against one
another in an epic battle between
good and evil. Hurl fireballs and
lasers at your opponents while
attempting to evade their mind
attacks and antimatter explosions.
Recruit wraiths, cyborgs, and other
super powered characters in a war
against your friends. Claim their
genetic markers with each victory as
you march closer to becoming the
ultimate champion. Whether that is
for good or evil is up to you..
Genegrafter is a card game
featuring the super humans that
populate the Genefrafter world.
and the amazing powers they
posess. This section will get you
set up and playing. Getting set up
is easy, staying alive.. not so much.
To begin, remove all of the cards
Icon and the

three DNA strand cards. Shuffle
the remaining cards, and deal 5 to
each player. Then, shuffle the
event, and DNA cards back into
the deck.
Place the deck face down on the
play area.
Roll a die to see who goes first.
Objective: Possess the most
Genetic Markers at the end of
the game. The game ends when the
third DHNA strand card is
revealed!

How to Play
Turn Phases
Each player on their turn
performs the following actions.
1. Draw a card
2. Play a Character Card
3. Battle
4. Discard
Draw a Card
If the card you draw is an event
c a r d
immediately show it
to all
players and follow
the directions on the card. Once
you have done so, draw another
card. If the card is a DNA Strand,
place it in the center of the play
mat/area and draw another card.
Continue this process until the
card drawn is not an Event Card,
or DNA Strand Card.
Play a Character Card
Players may play up to three
Character Cards per turn. A
player must play at least one
Character card every turn
if they are able.
Battle
If it is your turn and you have a Character
in play, you can battle another opponent’s
character once per turn. You may battle
more than one opponent, but not more than
once each turn. You may battle opponents
in any order you wish.
1. Announce which opponent you
wish to battle.
2. Announce which Character
you are sending into battle.
3. Announce which opposing
character you are
targeting.
4. PLayers take turns
playing
Ability cards, face down. Starting with the
Defending player.
5. Once Both
Players have
declared that
they have finished,
turn all cards face
up, and apply the
bonuses to the
battle starting
with the last
ability played.
3
6. Both Players roll their dice,
the higher total wins. If there
is a tie, the Defender always
wins.
7. The losing Character is
damaged, and turned on its side
to indicate that they have been
damaged.
8. Each Player then places any
Characters they have
damaged (defending or
attacking) into their Gene Pool, and place used Abilities into the discard pile

Discard
If you have more than seven cards
in your hand, discard until you have
seven.
Winning the game
When the last DNA Strand is
revealed, count up each
in your Gene pool. Some Cards have
more than one. The Player with the
most of these Gene Markers wins.
In the event of a tie, the player
with the most remaining Characters
wins. In event of a tie, the players
roll a die, highest
number wins.

PLayer 1 announces he is battling
Player 2’s Characters. Since
Madlock is only Character the
opponent has in play he must be the
target.
Since Player 2 is defending, he plays
plays first by selecting and playing
an Ability Card face down.
Now, PLayer 1 plays an Ability
Card face down.
Once both players announce they are
done playing Ability Cards, they flip
them face up.
Now both players add the bonuses
that the Ability Cards indicate, to
the Attack or Defense value.
Since Nebrus harnesses radition as
his super power, he adds 2 dice to his
attach attribute. Characters with
an Infinity power type Always
recieve the higher bonus.
Player 1 Receives 2 Attack Dice
from Gamma Blast, and adds that to
his 3 base Attach Dice, giving him a
total of 5 Attack Dice.
PLayer 2 receives 1 Defense Die
from Levitate, and adds that to the
Character’s base Defense of 3,
giving a total of 4 dice.

PLayer 1 rolls:
Totalling 18
PLayer 2 rolls:
Totalling 11
PLayer 1 has the higher total, and so
nebrus wins the battle against Madlock.
Player 2 will turn the Character on his
side, indicating that he has been damaged.
Since there are no other Players, and no
other Characters attacking or defending,
the turn is over. PLayer 1 collects
Madlock and places him into his Gene Pool.
If there were more players or Characters
the process would be repeated for each
battle until the attacking player has
exhausted his Character roster.

Special Rules
Genegrafter comes with 4 special player
cards that can be used to play a variant of
the game. Simply shuffle these face down and
have each player choose one before cards
are dealt. Each player will place their
selected card face up in their play area for
the rest of the game, utilizing the special
ability listed on the card.
Card Specific Rules
Enlightenment is cumulative. So if you have
the matching power, you would look at the
target player’s hand AND choose one card
from there to put into your own hand.
Heal Minor Wounds
resolves after all
damage is dealt.
Lucky Shot and Roll
Again can be used on
any roll during
battle. They wait
to be resolved until
there is at least one
object that they can
affect (in this case
dice).
FAQ
I played Super Punch using a character
with Super Strength, do I get 2 Attack
Dice or 3?
-You would get 2. For dice rolls, it is
always the higher of the two, not
cumulative.
If my opponent doesn’t have any
Characters can I still attack in order to
play cards like Enlightenment?
- No. Your opponent must have a
Character in play before you can attack.
What does healing mean?
- If a card is orientated sideways
after being hit, some cards will allow you
to ‘heal’ them by turning them back to
their proper orientation. This cancels all
previous damage so that a Character will
remain in play after Battle has resolved.
My opponent attacked me last turn, can I
still attack the Character they used?
- Yes. They can only attack with that
Character once per turn, but any number
of players can still target the
Character on their turn during battle.
