Predators
June 20-24
Eat or be eaten! Join an exploration of the earth’s greatest predators and their prey. We’ll travel to the far corners of the
earth to find some of the most fascinating predators including the African Lion, Great White Shark, Venus Fly Trap, and
man, just to name a few.
Amazing Race
June 27-July 1
Students will participate in a thrilling escapade visiting continents, playing adventurous games, learning team spirit, cooking
traditional foods and much more. Students will learn to decode clues, learn different currencies, overcome obstacles and
reach their final destination each day. Their journey during this week is going to be filled with “Amazing Experiences.”
Celebrating America
July 5-8 (closed 4th)
There is no better time to foster a greater understanding of America’s history than the week of July 4th – our country’s
Independence Day! This week, we’ll learn about American independence and the important events leading to it. With stars
and stripes everywhere, students will learn about states that played a key role in achieving independence, sing patriotic
songs, try their hand at “revolutionary” 4th of July recipes, carry the torch with 4th of July crafts and much more!
Poetry Grand Slam July 11-15
“Creativity is the mother of all invention.” During this week, our budding authors will learn about different poetic authors
and their writing styles. As a grand finale, at the end of the week, our students will create their very own poems with their
vivid imagination and share their original poetic sparks with their friends!
Creepy Crawlies
July 18-22
We are surrounded and outnumbered! Creepy crawlies are everywhere — scientists say that there are 200 million of them
for every one of us. This week we’ll grab our magnifying glasses and nets to explore our Schoolhouse back yard and expand
our knowledge of ants, bees, butterflies, caterpillars and ladybugs.
Junior Chef
July 25-29
Do you ever dream of cooking an edible masterpiece like the professional chefs? Our students will have an exciting, energyfilled, experience of culinary fun this week. From learning to prepare their own food to practicing kitchen safety, they will
learn to express confidence, independence, and pride through cooking.
Olympics August 1-5
Pass the torch! This week will rival Rio’s celebrations, from our Opening Ceremonies to an exploration of 39 games.
Students will have daily Olympic competitions and end with Closing Ceremonies and medal presentations.
Construction
August 8-12
Just the word “Construction” makes children mesmerized by all the equipment. This week the children will create a variety
of things with their hands using the tools and materials around them. Children will also be given the opportunity to learn
from professional contractors about different kinds of projects including roads, buildings, bridges, and many others.
Under the Sea August 15-19
Students will dive into an adventure of the hidden depths, journeying through and around the underwater world. We’ll
explore, investigate, and discuss ocean plants, animals, and seashells. We’ll study the properties of ocean water, vessels and
ways to keep the ocean safe and clean.
The Art Gallery August 22-26
Students will create many works of art in a wide variety of
mediums. They’ll make modeling clay sculptures and 3-D art using
construction paper and wooden shapes. They’ll paint a mock Sistine
Chapel using tempura paints and end the week with a classroom art
show and gallery viewing.
