Elva Letzkus requested by Tom Morrissey SUNDAY MASS SCHEDULE ON MISSION FOR THE CHURCH ALIVE! will help us envision how our parishes, schools and ministries can best respond to the changing landscape of our communities so they can be vital centers of worship and service. Since 2000, Mass attendance across the diocese has fallen 40 percent, half our parishes are running operational deficits, and pending retirements will mean far fewer priests will be available in the future to serve God’s people. But the possibilities and opportunities are endless! St. Anne Novena Saint Anne Parish, Castle Shannon, will offer its annual Novena in honor of Saint Anne from July 19-26. The directors for this year’s Novena will be Fathers Bob and Dick Gielow, and the theme of their reflections will be Mercy Today Makes for a Brighter Tomorrow. Novena Masses will be offered each day at the 8:00 A.M. and 6:30 P.M. Masses. At each Mass, the traditional prayers to Saint Anne will be offered, entrusting to her intercession the very serious concerns we have for our marriages, families, children, relationships, employment, health, etc. Please visit www.stanneparish.com for the complete Novena schedule as well as the Novena prayers. Saturday Evening Anticipated Mass ~ 6:00 P.M. Sunday ~ 7:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. Sunday Offertory Amount needed to meet regular operating costs Amount collected July 3 $10,700.00 $ 7,945.50 Pictured above is Dr. Scott Hahn, a very well known Catholic Biblical scholar, and speaker. There is Mass at 5:00 P.M. at St. Thomas More Church before Dr. Hahn’s talk. THE SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Dear Friends in Christ, As On Mission for the Church A live! process continues to unfold, Bishop David Zubik is offering town hall meetings open to all the faithful. A MESSAGE FROM THE DIOCESE While none of us wish to get sick and end up in the hospital, we know this sometimes occurs to us or our neighbors. When hospitalized, Catholic patients appreciate the opportunity to receive the Eucharist. Our hospitals in all parts of the Diocese are in need of Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Please consider participating in this wonderful ministry to those who are hospitalized. Anyone interested can contact Mr. Adam Blai at 412-456-3000 ext. 3244. Adam will assist you both in training, and in serving at the hospital of your choice. The Office of Institutional Ministries of the Diocese thanks you for your help!
