Business Spotlight
Ladies, you don’t have to leave Downtown Benson
to go shopping!
Just take a stroll down Benson’s Main Street and you will be greeted
by Libby Johnson who owns Edmond’s/Libby’s, a business established in 1985, located at 115 E. Main Street. Edmonds first opened
as a clothing store 60 years ago by Libby’s father, Edmond Massad.
Today, Libby Johnson carries on her father’s tradition of providing
quality merchandise brands at Simply Southern T-shirts, Charles
River raincoats and Rainbow sandals. Her most popular collectible
items include Baldwin brass ornaments and Christmas carolers.
Right across the street you will find Royal Boutique & Co., owned
and operated by Lindsay Tart Royal. Her business has grown so
much in just six months, she has moved into a new location at 120
E. Main Street. Need something unique for yourself or a special
friend? Stop by and check out her boutique selection of stylish apparel and accessories. Monogramming is available to personalize
your items.
Tre Faye, owned and operated by Lisa Sullivan, has also made tremendous strides as a successful business. Tre Faye moved to 112
W. Main Street and reopened in December 2015 with lovely items
for ladies’ shopping pleasures. Congratulations to Lisa as she becomes the proud owner of her building marking a truly great accomplishment!
Dixie Diva’s Boutique & Western Wear and Benson Boots &
Camo, located at 201A & B East Main Street, is owned and operated by Pat Isom. Her friendly staff welcomes you to drop by and
browse her collection of boutique items and accessories. Pat’s slogan, “A Touch of Country, A Touch of Class” is evident throughout
her boutique. In her adjoining location you see why “It’s All About
the Boots!” Finding quality western wear is a Main Street Benson
tradition! Pat carries on that tradition.
Shopping Downtown Benson is such a delightful experience these
days. Why drive long distances and wait in busy check out lines
when everything you need might be right here in Downtown Benson?
Before leaving downtown, don’t forget to stop by Jenny’s Sweet
Creations! A little sweet treat always completes a successful day of
pleasurable shopping! You really will be glad you did! You see,
Downtown Benson is growing and has a lot to offer. Remember how
important it is to our local economy to Shop Small Businesses and
Shop Local!
Shop Local…It Matters!
Don’t Forget!
Beat the Winter Blues
Was a Huge Success!
After much planning and preparation,
our first winter event proved to be a
tremendous success. The Band of Oz
was our featured entertainment during
the first Chamber sponsored Reverse
Raffle and Dinner in five years. All tickets for the raffle were sold in advance
and 325 attendees enjoyed a fabulous
buffet spread by Meadow Village Restaurant. Listening and dancing to the
music provided just the right atmosphere for the evening. The excitement
of the reverse drawing was fun for everyone, but especially for our winners.
Danny Mack Holland was the 5th place
winner with $500 while Susan Crook
won $1000 in the 4th place finish. The
final three ticket holders agreed to split
the remaining cash. These were Libby
Barefoot and Debbie Lee shared a
ticket with their earnings of $2250 each
for 3rd place, and Jeremy Norris and
Beverly Godwin winning $4,500 each
for 2nd and 1st places. It was a terrific
event!
