The following are a few of the accomplishments: As a Peace Corps Volunteer; designed, organized, and managed the first ambulance service in Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso). Designed and arranged for the local production of much of the equipment and supplies. Also worked as surgical aide in the national hospital. Received Fireman’s Medal of Honor with Gold Star from the government of Burkina Faso this work. * Solo travel through Peoples Republic of China before "officially" sanctioned. * Pilgrimage to Eiheiji (central monastery of the Soto Zen Buddhist) * Studied Asian healing arts as apprentice to Zen master * Attended the Independence celebration of Papua New Guinea * Researched immigration patterns of Japanese south of US. border * Traveled by camel over Sahara with desert tribesmen * Organized Safaris in East Africa and Australia * Slept on Mt.
