DEEKSHARAMBH th 2016-18 29 Commencement Day Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe delivers Commencement Day address For the newly admitted students, Commencement Day at BIMTECH is the mark of the beginning of the journey towards making a successful corporate career. The students along with their parents experience this unique academic celebration, which dates back to the Vedic era when the 'Deeksha aarambh' ceremony would be conducted by the Gurus for formal induction of students to the Gurukul. BIMTECH, Greater Noida proudly welcomed PGDM Batch of 2016-18 by organizing its traditional event “Deeksharambh”- the 29th Commencement Day, on June 19, 2016 at its Greater Noida campus. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Welcome Address was given by Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, who spoke about the strengths of the institute. In his highly motivational speech, he encouraged the young would-be corporate citizens to think exponentially and have a vision for their career path. He reiterated that BIMTECH provides every facility to make each of them 'shining stars in the Indian business firmament'. Dr. Chaturvedi also emphasized that the strength of BIMTECH lies in the diversity among faculty as well as student fraternity. BIMTECH celebrates this diversity through various festivals round the year. He emphasized that BIMTECH is not an owner-driven but faculty and student driven college which started its journey in 1980. In its glorious 29 years, BIMTECH now boasts of nearly 6,500 successful alumni and partnerships with more than 65 foreign Universities and B-schools. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, addressed the new students, their guardians and the BIMTECH fraternity on the theme “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. He drew attention to the fact that India is, unfortunately, lagging far behind other countries in its Innovation Index. He greatly appreciated the endeavours of BIMTECH and reposed faith in the institute in grooming entrepreneurs and thought leaders for the nation. He expected the new batch to play a key role in not only institution building but also nation building. He later discussed several concerns related to management education posed by students through a Q/A session. Delivering the 29th Commencement Address, Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe apprised the audience of several schemes of the Government of India like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Make in India and several others which are actually good entrepreneurial opportunities. He also mentioned that AICTE has constituted a committee to create a system where credits can be given to students who devote time in creating new ventures, apart from their time in the classrooms to make the environment conducive for innovation. He laid special emphasis on the importance of communication skills, sound values and multitasking and encouraged the students to join various clubs to get the life skills necessary for success. He also mentioned how challenging it was to keep the students engaged in the classrooms in the era of disruptive technology. To encourage cross pollination and global interaction of ideas, he urged academic fraternity to engage in the GIAN project of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, which funds public institutions to invite foreign faculties for knowledge upgradation as well as give a global projection to the institute. Grand Event 03| Aug. - Sep. Dr. Sahasrabudhe emphasized on giving more freedom to the young students, so that they could come out with innovative ideas. In that context he mentioned the experiment that he had carried out in the College of Engineering, Pune, where he had been as the Director. He said that students were given the freedom to work beyond the normal working hours in the labs and libraries. The net result was students coming out with satellite project proposal which was later accepted by ISRO, which is now ready for launch. If we work in the direction of national and social interest, personal development will occur automatically. It is very important to cooperate with each other and include human values inculcation in education. We are part of the world's fastest economy. Make yourself worthy of the employer. Rather than being job seekers, become Job creators. Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) In keeping with the theme of the evening, it was an opportune moment for Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) of BIMTECH to release its Annual Report 2015-16 at the hands of the dignitaries. Speaking on the release Dr. Abha Rishi, Head CIED said that "When we look back at any year, a number of key events and themes seem to stand out and define it. Learning lessons from the past is the key to improvement. This means engaging meaningfully with stakeholders and giving them a voice with a range of feedback mechanisms. It is with this context in mind, that the CIED published its Annual Report of 2015-16. The Report is an attempt to reach out and inform all about the activities pursued in the Centre for enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Institute and the wider environs of Greater Noida." The program transformed me to look upon things in a more global way. From international perspective, I am a global leader now who understands different cultures and see world as a family. “The lead colloquium Friday classes” and “The Simpson Mineta Leaders series”, explained about a lot of things: future choices, mentorship programs and cultural differences. My goals that I had before coming to TWC has broadened in terms of areas of interest and more précised. After interning in Izar Capital as “financial analyst” and meeting professionals from around the world, I realized the skills I need for my dream job. An imperative aspect of Washington D.C. is networking opportunities. There are many networking events happening all over the city which gives you chance to meet lot of people of your field and interest. You can register free for the events and attend to listen to speakers of your interest. You meet people in the events and have intellectual interaction which makes you learn more about current topics and issues. Also it gives you real time analysis on market situations from experienced professionals. I secured second position here at the Global festival where we all had to represent our countries through a cultural performance and booth. I also received the Global Citizenship Award for fostering the global community here. It was a great honour to be part of this experience and I thank BIMTECH and the Washington Centre for this opportunity.” 17| Aug. - Sep. Global Connect 19| Aug. - Sep. Prof. K R Chari addresses the th 7 International Conference on Solid Waste held at Brazil Mega Event EXPONENTIAL INNOVATION WORKSHOP If you know the future . . . you can own it! T he Instituto Venturi, Porto Alegre, Brazil organized the 7th International conference on Solid Waste during June 15-17, 2016. The inaugural panel comprised experts from BRICS countries. Prof. K. R. Chari from Birla Institute of Management Technology was invited as Indian expert on the panel discussion. Also, Prof. Emeritus Surya Prakash Chandak from BIMTECH was the moderator of the panel discussions. The other members on the panel were Ms. Arlinda Cézar Matos from Brazil, Mariia Liubarskaia from Russia, Ms. Hui Li from China and Ms. Linda Godfrey from South Africa. The deliberations were on “Political, legal and technical framework for solid waste management in the BRICS countries”. VIVEK WADHWA Distinguished Fellow and Professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering and a Director of Research at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering. Vivek has held appointments at Stanford Law School, Harvard Law School, and Emory University and is a faculty member at Singularity University. The deliberations covered a wide range of issues like problems faced by BRICS countries concerning the management of solid waste and the specific approaches these countries have adopted to forward or address these problems. As an output of this panel discussion, a joint document aimed at cooperation between these countries on the issues raised was brought out. Prof. Sunil Sangra visits US Universities From the presentations and panel discussion, it became apparent that all of the BRICS countries have sound political, legal and technical frameworks in place to support integrated solid waste management, i.e. improved management of waste, and the diversion of waste away from landfill towards waste prevention, reuse, recycling and recovery. Policy and legislation is typically based on a basic Constitutional right of citizens to a safe and healthy environment. Prof. Sunil Sangra, Professor of Strategy and Innovation, BIMTECH visited USA in the summer of 2016 to build further relationships with leading institutions and academic luminaries. Some of the strategic outcomes of his meetings were commitments made by several acclaimed professors among whom was Mr. Vivek Wadhwa, Fellow at the Arthur & Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance, Stanford University, Silicon Valley; Director of Research at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Research Commercialization at the Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University; Distinguished Fellow at Singularity University. Since environmental benefits of improved waste management are often insufficient a driver to raise the profile of waste management, these changes in awareness in each of the countries, appears to have been driven by other factors, such as social and economic benefits associated with integrated waste management. The need for education and awareness remains a priority in all of the BRICS countries, across civil society, business and government. In terms of implementing alternative waste treatment technologies, while considerable opportunity exists in all of the BRICS countries, it is clear that the appropriateness of the technology for the specific country, region, city, or waste type, must be carefully considered. It was educative to the extent that all the countries in the BRICS group have extensive legislation and political will to address the menace of environmental degradation. The three day conference deliberated upon other important and contemporary topics of interest like Role of the Municipalities in the Implementation of the National Policy of Solid Waste with primary focus on municipal waste; Issues and problems with packaging waste management from the perspective of the Sectoral Agreement; Operationalization of Reverse Logistics in the context of shared responsibility for the packages contained in the dry fraction of MSW or equivalent; Partnership with cooperatives, as well as the promotion of awareness campaigns in order to raise consumer awareness about the correct separation and disposal of packaging; as well as, techniques and technologies for treatment, disposal and remediation of solid wastes etc. Some critical issues that were also touched upon were Bulk drug and pharmaceutical waste management and packaging from the perspective of the Sectoral Agreement including the role of hospitals and clinics, Reverse Logistics of Promotional Banners (Fundo de Quintal), Exchange of Technical and Management Practices in Scavengers organizations among many others. The conference lay special emphasis on the social aspects of waste management as an exchange of good management practices. BIMTECH has committed to be Organiser and Knowledge Partner for a Two day 'Exponential Innovation' workshop in New Delhi in October 14-15, 2016. Mr. Vivek Vadhwa has kindly consented to conduct this workshop which is aimed at CEOs, CXOs and other leaders of businesses, senior Government officials and Academicians. This workshop will combine a series of lectures and discussions to teach business executives about the new paradigms of innovation and competitiveness—and how to thrive in today’s era of exponentially advancing technologies. It will teach them how to watch for convergence and disruption and to think like the startups that are gunning for their businesses. Prof. Sunil Sangra Professor, Strategy and Innovation, BIMTECH Dr. Rahul Singh visits FH Joanneum, Austria In May 2016. Dr. Rahul Singh, Associate Professor, Strategic Management, visited FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences Graz, Austria on invitation of the university for seminar and research project UNIQUE which is funded by European Union. Dr. Singh also visited Campus 02 University of Applied Sciences which is a school by Chamber of Commerce, Graz for a seminar with professors and executive degree programme. Various meetings of Dr Singh with the university and industry explore potential collaboration on academic activities. “It has been generally and broadly felt that unless each one of us commit ourselves to take care of the environment, the legislations and systems alone cannot help. It is WE who have to play our individual role at personal and family levels by not at least adding to the environmental degradation, if not asking others to do it.” Prof. K R Chari Professor, Operations Management, BIMTECH Dr. Rahul Singh Associate Professor Strategic Management, BIMTECH VC, Purbanchal University, Nepal visits BIMTECH Dr. Ghanshyam Das, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Shubh Narayan Pathak, Dean and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Jha of Purbanchal University visited BIMTECH to propel and explore more avenues in academics. The delegates had meeting with BIMTECH Director, Deputy Director, Registrar and other faculty. BIMTECH and Purbanchal University will collaborate to develop Doctoral Program at Purbanchal University. Proposal was put forward to develop Faculty Development Program for PU faculty under the guidance of BIMTECH. Dr. G. N. Dr. Ghanshyam Das Vice Chancellor Purbanchal University, Nepal Global Connect 21| Aug. - Sep. Internal Self Evaluation Report Submitted to AACSB - A Story of Courage, Conviction & Collective endeavours Committees and Workshop It was important to have a designated committee responsible for the overall planning, preparation and supervision of the iSER. For this purpose, BIMTECH AACSB Committee (AACSB Committee) was set up and its role was precisely notified. The membership was drawn from faculty and staff fraternity. In order to bring clarity and understanding of AACSB standards among faculty and academic managers, a workshop was conducted on July 15, 2015. To achieve this objective, presentations by the faculty and staff members on the 15 standards of AACSB were arranged. Faculty Members, Research Scholars and The task of drafting Strategic Plan took more than the planned time. There were many rounds of meetings with senior management team. Though the objective was to compile a strategic plan, maintaining the momentum for implementing the plan is arguably one of the crucial aspects for BIMTECH. The iSER is expected to be self reflective and consider the institution’s strengths, weaknesses, and achievements. Analysis of institutional data against the institutional Vision, Mission and Values (VMV) is pivotal in the process to ensure that the self evaluation provides a comprehensive review of the institution. 5:47 AM ... Calendar said May 31, 2016. One more milestone achieved. BIMTECH had completed the second stage of AACSB Accreditation. The Director expressed his exuberance on submission of Initial Self evaluation Report. The message via ‘BIMTECH Faculty Official WhatsApp’ relating to submission of the iSER was pleasant to the ears, understandable, of the BIMTECH fraternity. The iSER had been submitted to the AACSB mentor as well as to the AACSB International just on the target day. The first stage of accreditation was completed last year in May 2015 when AACSB formally approved the eligibility application after rigorous scrutiny and they nominated Prof. Fan Wang, Dean, Sun Yat-sen Business School, China as our mentor. The work started during June 2015, but the management went full-throttle in March 2016 when faculty fraternity was relatively free from the regular teaching load. Normally international accreditation process demands a dedicated effort of four-to-five years. BIMTECH is committed to high-quality business and management education since its inception. In 2008, PGDM programme offered by the institute was accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). NBA is the highest national accreditation body under the Ministry of Human Resources Development. Last year NBA accredited two of our flagship programmes upto 2020. We also initiated action for international accreditation for the whole institute during the same time. Out of the three known international accrediting bodies, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the US based accrediting body, was short listed. As the longest serving global body dedicated to advancing management education worldwide, AACSB has accredited so far 761 of the world’s best business schools across 52 countries and territories. BIMTECH management approved the proposal for AACSB accreditation in early April 2015. selected members of staff were required to make presentations in small groups comprising of 3-4 members each. In addition, one member of AACSB team acted as a facilitator for each team. The brainstorming was meaningful as became evident from the feedback received from the participants. The workshop helped faculty, research scholars and staff members to understand the essence and complexity of AACSB accreditation. Timelines and Ownership The AACSB committee was also responsible for sustaining the interest of the members throughout the implementation phase. One of the roles of the team was to share interpretation of the AACSB standards, seek cooperation within the faculty members and apprise lessons learned. Based on the discussions, four important policy frameworks as per AACSB accreditation process were identified which could take considerable amount of time. Though these frameworks were already in place but the challenge was to make them robust. These four frameworks namely (i) Faculty qualification, (ii) Assurance of learning (iii) Intellectual contributions and (iv) Financial management were formally documented and implemented. Honest and transparent communication helped in such an activity. In addition to above, Gantt Chart was prepared for four major tasks i.e. compilation of Strategic Plan 2016-20; classification of faculty members as per the standards; review of policy framework and compilation of iSER. Fifteen teams were made responsible for completing the activities enlisted in the Gantt Chart. At this juncture, camous was abuzz with brainstorming sessions, meetings, discussions and confrontations in most of the meeting rooms earmarked for the purpose. As the management is ultimately responsible for educational quality and monitoring of institutional performance, AACSB Committee plays a role of keeping the stakeholders in BIMTECH updated on the progress of the self evaluation process on a daily basis. In this direction, the intranet or the NAT section on the Institute’s website proved to be an effective resource for sharing information relevant for the iSER process. The BIMTECH fraternity is able to access documents relating to accreditation through this electronic repository anytime. As far as achieving the goals is concerned, commitment is the key to ensure this. The Director of the Institute announced in one of the meetings that iSER task has to be completed before the target day even if the faculty members are required to defer summer vacation by few days. With the support of the BIMTECH fraternity, a 300 page self evaluation report was finally ready for submission. The process ensures high quality research by the faculty members and promotes deeper relationship with other reputed international institutes / universities. The recruiters prefer the business schools accredited by AACSB, as the accredited schools get international recognition. BIMTECH is directing its energy to achieve the milestone by 2018. Everyone is passionate about its mission and values. The accreditation process helps to channelize energy and resources towards the attainment of mission. The fraternity is confident that by 2018, BIMTECH would be one of the AACSB accredited institutes in India. Prof. A.K. Malhotra, Convenor, AACSB Committee Global Connect 23| Aug. - Sep. She also narrated her real life experiences and situations in order to make the students understand leadership. The students also analyzed themselves as to where they stand as a leader, and the areas they should improve upon. One such test was the Big 5 model. Another one was Blake and Mouton’s Leadership Grid. This particular activity showed the whole class that they might think they are a team leader but they might be mistaken. The research paper “Assessing the preference of customers’ insurance distribution channel using fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)” was coauthored by Dr. G.N. Patel, Professor, BIMTECH. Dr. Ritu Shrivastava contributed a chapter on Crowdfunding C rowdfunding though existent, is still in a nascent stage in India being limited to charity and reward based funding of creative and social projects by the crowd. The Indian regulatory authorities are in the process of formulation of policies to encourage and monitor the financial return based crowdfunding platforms. The Indian MSME sector is particularly facing financing problems and crowdfunding could be a viable alternative than the traditional source of finances. In this context, the chapter on “ The Investment Model of Crowdfunding for MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in India” in the book “ International Perspectives on Crowdfunding ; positive, normative and critical theory” attempts to suggest the operational framework for crowdfunding in India with special reference to MSME sector in terms of the eligibility norms, rules for investor protection, sustaining market integrity, supportive infrastructure and role of the online crowdfunding platform. The chapter focuses on proposing the norms for crowdfunding in India to sustain market integrity, discussing the role of the online platform and highlighting the need for the establishment of supporting infrastructure. The findings emerge from the personal interviews of Directors or Chief Finance Officers of MSME firms and Senior Officials (with minimum work experience of fifteen years) in the SME divisions of banks (private and public) located in the National Capital Region .The sampling criterion allowed the incorporation of both the investor’s and investee’s concerns regarding the research issues. Bidding Adieu 31| Aug. - Sep. Interview of Dr. Sangeeta A. Shukla Founder Editor -Vrittant & Area Head - Business Communication She has recently joined at IIM Lucknow Being the editor of Vrittant was a different kind of responsibility all together. It was initially a challenging task because it requires great attention to detail; even small slips are noticed and pointed out. The students of the Editorial Conduit helped me a lot. As a mentor for both MAJLIS and Vrittant student committees, I realised one thing very important about student. Each and every students has special skills and competencies and the potential to be successful. Our role as faculty is to facilitate an environment where they can make the best use of their skills. 1. Your career’s longest stint has been with BIMTECH. What have been the major highlights of your journey with BIMTECH family as faculty, as HoD, as editor of Vrittant and as mentor of Majlis? Ans. Yes, I have spent wonderful eight years in BIMTECH. I consider the immense affection that I received from students here the highlight of my journey with BIMTECH. In BIMTECH, I have always been given an opportunity to take on new responsibilities, try different things, and learn continuously in the process. One of the first responsibilities that I was given was to become the mentor of Majlis-The Debating and Theatre Society. This platform gave me a very good opportunity to work closely with the students. I observed that students learnt best when they were given a responsibility and the freedom to fulfil that responsibility. 2. How did you develop very healthy relationship with your students? Honestly speaking, I did not have a pre-planned strategy. I always enjoyed interacting with students in class and outside class. I guess that helped me in bonding with them. 3. Do you recall any incident when a few students were not willing to open up with you? Or they could not fulfil responsibilities assigned to them during conduit events? Were they eventually motivated to get attached with you just because of your communication skills and persona? Ans. That happens in every team. There are a few students who are not that forthcoming. I would say they have their own style of working. I don’t think anybody joins a team with the intention of not working. It is because of certain situations or certain team dynamics that certain people hold back or take some time to open up with others. However, once we understand the particular strength of a student, his/her style of working, allow them their space and time, the student begins to do well. I think understanding the student is important and I would never say it has anything to do with my style of working that anybody opened up. All of us were together as a team and continuously learned from each other. 4. By any chance, if there has been any serious conflict among the student team members which seemed difficult for you to handle? What role can one play during conflicts? Ans. Conflict is an unavoidable part of any team. We had some instances of conflicts too. I think if we understand that the conflict is for the betterment of the performance of the team then it is a healthy conflict. Majlis has been a very good example of positive conflict. We argued, fought, disagreed but we knew that whatever we were doing, we were doing it for the good of the team and once we stepped out of the room , we were back again to the same kind of camaraderie, friendship and bond. 7. Except for attending business communication classes, what else can students do to enhance their communication skill? Reading is the first and foremost habit required. I think you can always make out the difference between a well-read person and the one who is not. Students should not end their day without doing planned and serious reading. 8. Is there any difference in being good and fluent in English communication and Business communication? Ans. Preparing an excellent dish , garnishing it well and serving the same dish to all, even to someone who is not hungry or allergic to it is one thing . However, understanding what a person’s preference or taste is, and then preparing the dish according to the taste and appetite of that person, that is Business communication. Knowing what your customers and stakeholders want and then designing and delivering your message in a manner that they are willing to accept and appreciate it is Business Communication. 9. Are you happy so far what you have achieved as a Business Communication teacher? Ans. Happiness is a very heavy word, hence I would rather say, I have a sense of satisfaction. Whatever I did, I attempted to give my 100%. Whatever opportunity came my way, whatever task was assigned to me I always tried to do it with utmost enthusiasm, sincerity and commitment. Prof. Eugene A Reuben Assistant Prof. - IT Served at BIMTECH from 2010-2016 My only role everywhere has been more of a listener than anything else. I tried to listen with empathy. The students would come to me, voice their concern and I would listen to them patiently; this is all I have done. I firmly do believe that students have an immense ability to learn and improve, provided we trust them. 5. As the HoD of Business Communication Area at BIMTECH, what was your focus? With BIMTECH trying to achieve AACSB accreditation, our focus was to get all our processes stream lined to meet AACSB standards .I was the Head of the Business Communication Area for only a year. All of us in the Area were almost of the same age group, hence it was easier to communicate and work together. I also believe that the precedence set by Prof. Dhruva Chak in the Area helped me manage things better. I had wonderful time working with my colleagues, and I wish them the best in the future. 6. What is the role of Business Communication skills in the success of a management professional? What should a management student do to enhance his/her communication skills? I think communication in an organization is like the circulatory system of the body. Just as the network of nerves, connects all the organs of the body and helps them work in coordination, similarly business communication helps to connect with all stakeholders of an organization. Especially in today’s hyper- mediated world communication has a crucial role to play in business success. Whether you want to build a good team, convince your customers or influence your stakeholders, everything requires effective communication. Nobody can hope to hold a position of responsibility in the organization without having good communication. Hence students must invest in building their communication skills. 10. How did you chalk out your career plan? Ans. To be honest, I never had a career plan. Coming to BIMTECH and now going to IIM (L), none of it was planned. I just take things positively as they come. Teaching is my passion, my hobby and much more. When your work, your hobby, your passion are the same, you enjoy doing it. 11. Any advice for the generation – Millennial? Ans. I think this generation is sharp, intelligent and focused . Their way of doing things might be different from ours but the things they want in life are more or less same as those we wanted. Personally two qualities I admire in people are humility and equanimity. We should always strive for humility, and acknowledge people who have helped us through life. With each success, our responsibility to those people grows. 12. Any parting words? Ans. BIMTECH has been an amazing learning ground for me. I’m amazed by the leadership of Dr. Chaturvedi, especially his openness to new ideas and his will to provide you freedom to follow your path. I am leaving with gratitude in my heart for the support I received which enabled me to do and learn so much. Editorial Team Vrittant wishes her all the best in her new endeavours! Little did I know that one day I would be treading a new path leading me out of BIMTECH. After 6 ½ years of exciting and memorable stint with BIMTECH, I bid adieu to the Institute. As I move on, I would like to take a moment to remember and cherish the time spent with the Institute. It's been a great journey for me coming from the Industry and settling into a totally new environment of teaching the Management graduates who are aspiring to be future Managers. The task was not very easy and I knew that people would always be watching me to see how well I am able to adapt to this environment. Never to say no to a challenge, I quickly adapted to the new task assigned to me and did fairly well in this new arena. I was excited and took the challenge of imparting a new look and feel to the digital initiation of the Institute, which went dynamic from static and this was followed by decentralization of the whole system. All the departments contributed by doing their part and gradually felt empowered to update their content and share with the outside world in real time, with little backend support. All this was made possible only because of the guidance, support and encouragement provided by my seniors and my peers who were always appreciative of the work I did for the Institute. Today I feel a great sense of achievement and satisfaction to see that BIMTECH has become self-reliant where the web-site and digital media is concerned. I had a great time of camaraderie and learning not only with the staff and faculty but also with the students who were more than willing to go an extra mile to learn and gain from my Industry experience. It has been an amazing experience working with you all and I thank you for all your support throughout my journey at BIMTECH. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent here. I now look forward to the next chapter in my professional career with renewed hope and reaching out for new horizons which will add more diverse experience to my career. I do wish BIMTECH every success in all future endeavors. A management student needs to have an organized lifestyle. Right kind of food, sleep and exercise will give him physical strength. Domain knowledge clubbed with communication, marketing and interpersonal skills will give sound professional competence. But looking to the stressful challenges of present day professional life, profound emotional and spiritual strength is the need of the hour. Yoga and meditation provide the path towards all round excellence. A dedicated schedule for connecting to the inner self through meditation can lead to concentration, resilience, stability and transcending above physical identity which will give him all round excellence. This will lead him to the ultimate feeling of success, happiness and fulfillment. Prof. P.S.
