GOALS:




Offer a diversified educational experience, traditionally not available through local con ed sponsors.
Encourage EMS personnel to expand their knowledge of emergency medical care topics and issues.
Create a forum for discussion and dialogue among EMS personnel, vendors, educators, medical
professionals, guest speakers, and other personnel associated with EMS organizations.
Offer an affordable educational conference that features renowned regional, state, national, and
international speakers.
ETIQUETTE:


EMMCO West encourages all participants to enjoy themselves at the conference. Enjoy walking
through the vendor areas and listening to our plethora of guest lecturers. A variety of activities are
planned to allow you to relax with your EMS colleagues.
As part of these activities, legal alcoholic beverages are often available. Anyone under the legal
drinking age shall not be permitted to consume alcoholic beverages within any of the EMMCO West
sponsored functions. The Ambassador Conference Center will enforce all applicable PA L.C.B.
Regulations, including photo ID verification.
The Ambassador does not permit outside alcoholic beverages to be brought into
the Friday night STAT Party.

Classes, speakers, and times may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances.
Due to safety regulations, EMMCO West reserves the right to limit the number of attendees in any
given room due to room capacity limits.
Those attendees wishing special accommodations must notify EMMCO West 30 days in advance.
CON ED CREDITS:

EMMCO West, Inc. has applied to the PA Department of Health to secure continuing education credits
for most of the sessions. A complete listing of approved courses will be available during the
conference and will be available on our website www.emmco.org.
Ambassador Conference Center Accommodations:

Quad Rooms = $ 166.72
Online room reservations and national room
reservations are NOT available at the conference
rate.
All room reservations MUST be made by calling
the hotel directly before March 30, 2012.
All rooms include a Continental Breakfast.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children
with life-threatening medical conditions.

creativity !! Last year, we raised over $2,000.00 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.
Gift baskets can be handed in to the EMMCO West staff by the morning of Friday,
April 13, 2012.
Tickets are a sheet of 25 for $5 and will be sold outside the vendor area until the
drawing after lunch on Saturday, April 14, 2012. You must be present to win. A second
ticket will be drawn if the basket is not claimed by 2:30.

2012 Mentor of the Year Award
Purpose of the Award:
The EMMCO West EMS Mentor of the Year Award is given to an individual who exemplifies the
ideal image of a mentor. Over a period of years, this individual has established a consistent
outreach to EMS colleagues. The individual has contributed to the support and/or development
of mentoring programs within their EMS agency or training institute. Guidance to EMS
practitioners and/or students to exhibit professional values and behaviors are fostered by the
candidate.
Eligibility:



Currently certified as an ALS or BLS practitioner.
Has established a record of consistent outreach to individuals in the EMS field over a number
of years or has contributed to the support or development of mentoring programs within
their agency or in the EMS community.
The ideal candidate should have a record of achievement in providing guidance and fostering
to EMS practitioners and/or students and should exhibit behavior which is consistent with an
EMS “role model”.
2012 EMS Achievement Award
Purpose of the Award:
The EMS Achievement Award is presented to a regional EMS practitioner that has displayed
leadership, insight, and vision to improve EMS within the EMMCO West region.
Eligibility:


Currently certified as an ALS or BLS practitioner.
Has demonstrated their ability to enrich and contribute to the growth of EMS within the
EMMCO West region.
2012 Volunteer EMS Practitioner of the Year Award
Purpose of the Award:
The Volunteer EMS Practitioner of the Year Award is presented to a practitioner for their
continued support of volunteer activities and the promotion of the volunteer spirit among their
peers.
Eligibility:



A currently certified Pennsylvania EMS Practitioner or an active member of an organization
as an Ambulance Attendant.
Actively participates in leadership roles of a volunteer group/organization.
Acts primarily as a volunteer EMS Practitioner.
