an important cultural and economic center because
of its strategic position. Walking along the city
streets we see traces of this ancient culture in many
of the monuments and buildings. The Arena, a
Roman amphitheater with seating for 20,000
people, is still in use for a high-profile opera festival
during the summer season in addition to various
concerts and events. Teatro Romano, situated on
the banks of the Adige river, providing a beautiful
panoramic view over the city center, is still in use for
theater, music, and ballet.
Why Verona?
Verona is a comfortably-sized city located in
the beautiful northeastern region of the
Veneto.
Serviced locally by Valerio Catullo Airport,
Trenitalia trains and APTV bus service, Verona
is connected to and reachable from any
worldwide location.
Its location in Italy makes it just a short train
ride away from other important cities such as
Venice, Milan, Bologna, Padua, Mantua,
Florence and Rome.
Verona’s Roman history is evident in the ruins near Teatro Romano.
Many others conquered the city during the years
following the fall of Ancient Rome making Verona a
part of many different empires and states. It is home
to years of diverse Austrian, Venetian, German, and

We offer a large choice of different programs, from
standard courses to tailor-made individual lessons.
People from all over the world come here to learn the

ITALIAN LESSONS
Grammar and Conversation
These lessons focus on the development of
communicative abilities, both oral and written.
Several areas are dealt with during the lessons,
such as:
grammar (morphology, syntax,
spelling and phonetics). Everything is
taught by means of our communicative
approach.

use of the language.
the inlingua method is to enable the learner to
communicate as competently as possible in the
foreign language. By “communicate” we mean the
ability to speak and understand the target language.
Of course, the inlingua method also helps the
learner to read and write. The main emphasis,
however, is on the spoken word. It is only by
speaking the language that the learner will acquire
oral competence.
Our Teachers are Native Speakers
Our teachers are trained in the inlingua method,
motivated and interesting.
They involve students and
continuously keep their
level of attention high. They
are university graduates,
native speakers and are
competent in both
traditional teaching methods and more modern
didactic approaches. They use a variety of
techniques, ranging from role play and rhythmic
exercises to games and quizzes.
Didactic Material
Our textbooks are constantly updated by the
didactic team of inlingua headquarters in Bern. The
materials include exercises and simulations. The
books are the didactic basis for our students'
learning path, but they are integrated with authentic
material taken from radio, tv, magazines,
newspapers etc. The lessons in our textbooks are
structured accordingly to the student's level. At the
end of the course, included in the price, every
student will receive a certificate of attendance from
the school.
Exam Preparation Courses
Certification of Italian as a Foreign language
Teaching Method
Our method is based on direct communication. We
teach students in a way that directly accesses the
target language at hand instead of filtering it
through another language. The inlingua method of
teaching languages is the result of decades of
practical experience. We know for certain that the
method works, because we can look back on years
of its successful implementation. The primary aim of
inlingua Verona offers a CILS Exam Preparation
Course for the Certification of Italian as a Foreign
Language recognised by the University of Siena.
These classes are run twice-weekly in the
afternoons or evenings, for a total of four hours per
week. This Italian course is also open to students
attending a Standard Language Course who would
like to sit the CILS examinations (this exam can be
taken in Verona).
