President’s Message
On behalf of the Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club and the Virginia Skeet Shooting Association and its officers I welcome you to the 2014 Virginia State Skeet Championships. I hope that everyone got their desired rotation and that everyone shoots well. I am sure that Bud, Gabby, Robert and their crew have the field and traps in great condition and we can expect great targets. Becky, Tom and their crew will put on another great shoot. Shooting seems to have picked up some around the state this year even though shooting supplies are hard to find. The clubs are trying to keep costs down but still give the shooter as much as possible for his money. For several years I have asked our shooters to take the referee’s test and become an official referee. This seems to be working as I am seeing many new referees this year. It can make you a better shooter because you learn to pay more attention and watch the targets. In closing I would like to thank the referees, desk help, trap mechanics and all the others that it takes to make this the great shoot that it is. I hope that everyone will go by and thank Chief Ref-
eree Mike Ramsey, Bud & Gabby, Becky & Tom and members of their crews for all their hard work and tell them what a great job they are doing. Charles Daniel, President
STATE SHOOT COMMITTEE
Becky Myers (Chair);; Bud Hitchcock (Club);; Jackie Connors;; Mike Ramsey (Chief Referee);; John Eklund;; Marilynne Eklund;; Tom Hill (Treasurer);; & Bob Myers.
SHOOT MANAGEMENT
Jackie Connors, Kristi Garstang, Tom Hill, Becky Myers
and Jackie Brockman (Cashier).
Awards: Ronnie Newton (new Chief) & Marilynne Eklund (Trainer) & others.
PROTEST COMMITTEE

THE COUNTRY GENTLEMAN
GUN FITTING SHOP
Are you tired of the recoil pad swimming around on your shoulder?
Are you flinching or being hit with unnecessary recoil?
Are you missing targets at random? (Targets you KNOW how to break.)
Is your average stuck and your progress come to a halt?
Are your scores inconsistent?: 88...95...89...92.
You’ve shot better. So why aren’t your scores reflecting your ability?
There are reasons, answers, and solutions for each of the above.
These problems and more are solved at THE COUNTRY GENTLEMAN
SHOP. Your questions will be answered followed by a personal consultation with private, hands-on instruction with follow-ups after you
shoot. There’s no charge for sizing you up, so come in and ask the
question “Does my gun fit?” and allow us to open the door on your
natural shooting ability.
THE COUNTRY GENTLEMAN is the only gun fitting shop in the
country that exclusively specializes in
GUN FIT and SHOOTING FORM INSTRUCTION.
Aaron Nelson will be on the grounds at Fredericksburg ready
to help you at the 76th Virginia State Skeet Championships
starting Wednesday morning (13 August).
