The Black Panthers Making Sense of History The photographic
exhibition consisting of 47 contemporary exhibition prints and provides a
visual history of the Black Panthers as photographed by Stephen Shames. In
1967, Shames met Black Panther Party co-founder Bobby Seale at an antiwar
demonstration in San Francisco and began photographing the Panthers.

Wonders of Work and Labor: The Steidle Collection of
American Industrial Art, Penn State University The paintings
and prints in the Steidle Collection capture the power and beauty of industry.

TOYS! Margaret Leng Tan The Present Music Ensemble will perform
with Margaret Leng Tan (www.margaretlengtan.com), a talented and visionary
pianist whose work sidesteps perceived boundaries within the usual concert
experience. Tan, the first woman to earn a doctorate from Juilliard, actively
collaborated with John Cage and is recognized as the pre-eminent interpreter
of Cage’s music. Tan is the world’s first professional toy piano virtuoso. She

Knock Wood: New Gift to RAM’s Wood Collection While the
most recent medium to enter the collection, RAM is now documenting in-depth
the works of contemporary wood sculptors, wood turners and furniture makers.
This exhibition includes platters, bowls and sculptural forms created by an
array of internationally known artists such as Matt Moulthrop, Ron Fleming,

“The Adventures of MR. POTATO HEAD” Exhibit Everyone’s favorite
silly character will be featured in “The Adventures of MR. POTATO HEAD,”

The Miniature Worlds of Bruce Metcalf This is the first major
exhibition of Bruce Metcalf’s work, featuring 70 pieces by the artist, dating from
the 1970s to 2001, as well as unique wall drawings Metcalf will create on-site.
Revered as a leading art jeweler, curator, essayist and critic of contemporary craft,

Wisconsin Masters: Bruno Ertz Bruno Ertz, a self-taught artist,
specialized in detailed renderings of insects and flowers. Later, his work

Earths Elements - Art Opening A joint exhibit by Dara
Chappie and Terry A. Fischer The earth we live in is explored in
two unique ways. One utilizes the elements such as stones and wood
and combines them in fascinating ways. Dara’s assemblage art invites the
viewer to look at the natural, earthy materials in a new light. The other views
the climate/elements. Terry interprets them in soft and flowing watercolor
landscapes that put the viewer right out there in the lush summer or a sudden,

The Milwaukee Public Museum and the Mummies of Akhmim
In 1986, 99 years after they first came to Milwaukee, the museum’s two
Egyptian mummies were first analyzed systematically, including CT-scanning,
radiocarbon dating and coffin text translation, at the instigation of curator
Carter Lupton. Carter will share the history of this ongoing study, including
more recent examinations and analysis of the MPM mummies, all framed by
the exhibit hosted at the Milwaukee Public Museum, Mummies of the World.
