We therefore invite TWGSS as our partner school for the `Student Oriented Campus Enhancement Programme’. It would be a good opportnity for the students to develop a stronger sense of belongings to the school and arouse their interests in different learning aspects. To enhance a better environment of the school campus To understand the needs of students To design new and improve existing school facilities To enrich students’ other learning experience To develop students’ initiative in learning To develop students’ critical thinking and problem- solving skills To arouse stronger sense of belongings to the school 同我地分享你的心得, 話我地知學校的空間佈局 仲有咩有趣的可能? 參加資格:荃官同學 時間:四月三日(星期四) 下午三時半 地點:Covered playground `Student Oriented Campus Enhancement Programme’ by ’荃’因為你 + TWGSS @ 3 April, 2008 (Thursday) Our activities on that day could be summarized as the followings: 9 am 10 am Preparation for workshop in afternoon 11 am Lunch break 12 pm Questionaries filling + Promotion 3 pm Promotion poster A small group discussion (F.6 students) We began our day with an intensive group discussion. The 20 senior form students, with some of them as prefects, house captains or student assocation representatives, provided an in-depth perspective on students’ needs and school development. Workshop with interested students (All are welcomed) We encouraged all TWGSS students to participate in the afternoon workshop. We first collected their opinions on the present school environment with questionaires. Then, with the help of drawings and foams, we provided them an opportunity to create their ideal school form and space. The workshop lasted for 2 hours, from 3pm-5pm, and we have collected more than 50 students’ work. Brainstorming : What is your ideal campus? A small group discussion with 20 F.6 students Workshop with interested students (All are welcomed) STUDENT WORK Practice : What is your ideal campus in realistic situations? In general, the students like to have a sportsground and a bridge linking 2 wings. They also want more entertainment facilities such as chess room and karaoke rooms. Their ideas are very creative. Some of them think of having their classroom on the ferris wheel. However, mostly, students prefer doing homework and lunch in home than school because of noisy environment. The lower form students even not customed to lunch at school yet. Students are slightly favourite of New Wing than Old Wing, which New Wing provides area for different kind of activities. There are also slightly more students believe insufficience of school facilities such as canteen, football field, studio. What is your most favourite place?
