GUIDED ARTWALK STOPS Fiesta Cultural is a celebration of Latino art and culture throughout Lane County! Follow along the bilingual guided tour to hear from featured artists! 1 5:30 PM | Kesey Square - ArtWalk Highlight! Join us for the kick-off event for Fiesta Cultural, a series of events celebrating Latino art and culture throughout Lane County. The fun starts with a dance performance by Azúcar. Afterwards, Kesey Square transforms into a salsa dance party with Carlos Cascante y Su Tumbao. Other highlights include a free kids art activity with Jessica Zapata and Eugene Printmakers, artwork by Latino artists, soccer shoot outs for kids, and food! Image: Azúcar dancing. 2 6 PM | Broadway Commerce Center (44 W Broadway) “Living Threads,” photographs by Eric Mindling, is a visual journey into ancient, living civilizations and cultures told through beautiful portraits of deeply rooted people and their unique fashions. Also, local artists present “Sacred Seeds,” a many medium exhibition in honor of Flordemayo, one of the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers that is coming to Eugene in September. Image: River Hawkins. 3 6:30 PM | ECO Sleep Solutions and Gallery (25 E 8th Ave) Join us for a special Thimbleberry Felt Designs Runway Preview, featuring work by Tylar Merrill! Tylar’s fashion designs and accessories have been selected for the Uncommon Threads: Wearable Art Show in St. Charles, Illinois. Each fashion is complemented with unique jewelry by Christine L. Sundt - Fine Jewelry Design. 4 7 PM | Passionflower Design (128 E Broadway) Local artist Rogene Mañas debuts her new book Artful Paper Clay. This book teaches a fun and forgiving technique that Rogene has perfected over her many years of working in mixed media. She demonstrates her inventive techniques and displays work for sale. Rogene’s colorful style has been deeply influenced by the folk art of Mexico and Latin America. 5 7:30 PM | OUT ON A LIMB Gallery (191 E Broadway) OUT ON A LIMB Gallery showcases “Poppy-land,” an acrylic painting series by Mila Murphy. Mila began her artistic journey back in Russia, where she grew up. After graduating from art college, she began working as a graphic designer and freelance artist.
