ROAD SAFETY
We ask parents not to walk their children across the road when dropping off and picking them up. Please walk down to the
either of the crossings. A parent came in quite distressed recently as she nearly hit a child who was not using the crossing.
Please assist us with this important matter. Your child’s safety is our concern.
BIRTHCERTIFICATES, IMMUNISATION CERTIFICATES, CHANGE OF ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS.
The above items are very important information for the school to have. If your child is injured or sick it is impossible for us to
contact you if you have not changed your phone numbers at the office. Also, it is an Education Department requirement that a
birth certificate for your child is on record at the school as well as immunization certificates or a letter from your child’ doctor.
If you know we do not have any of the above could you please attend to the matter urgently.

SCHOOL REVIEW – WE NEED YOUR
FEEDBACK!
Every four years, schools participate in a review process.
During this review, all members of the school community are
given an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the school
as well as set direction for the future. Kings Park Primary
School is in a review year.
Go to our website www.kpps.vic.edu.au to provide us with
some feedback. Under notices you will see a form which we
kindly ask you to fill out so you can provide feedback on the
school and also provide recommendations for the next four
years. Thanks for helping set direction for our school.

CANTEEN PRICE LIST
It has come to our attention that students are ordering from the
old canteen price list. The current one reads Term 1 2016.
Could you please look at your list and if you have an old one
you may download a new one from our website or collect one
from the school office.
PREP CSEF UNIFORM VOUCHER
We still have a few families who have been given a voucher
for uniforms through the CSEF grant that have still not
collected their free uniform package. These vouchers do
expire soon and as we need to invoice the company who are
providing them. Could you please bring your voucher to
school office as soon as possible.

It is important that enrolments are received early as we will be running
our Starting School program which will be commencing in early August
and only children who have enrolled for 2017 can attend.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE IS AVAILABLE
The grade 2 students have been learning about
'Our precious Water'. During Week 1 they
planted beans. The beans were set into 4
different settings (no water no sunlight, no
sunlight with water, sunlight and water, sunlight
and no water). Students made predictions on
what would happen to each of the plants. The
discoveries were amazing, with a conclusion that
without water our plants will simple NOT grow.
All members of the KPPS AFL Team won the P.E. Value award this week for their teamwork and kindness, in
their game against Movelle Primary School.
‘We were winning and we couldn’t let them go home without letting them score. The KPPS Team felt bad and
they stepped aside and let Movelle score one goal to make them feel good about themselves.” By Bailey 6M
SCHOOL UNIFORM
With winter upon us we are noticing that students are starting to wear
hoodies to school. Students may wear coats to school over their uniform
which they will then take off during class time but we do not want to see
hoodies at school. The school fleecy jacket is perfect for over school jumpers
and polos.
√
X
Students may also wear skivvies, black, white or green under their polo shirts
for extra warmth but no other colourful items. Tights or leggings under the
school dress, skorts or shorts are also permitted. Colourful tights are not allowed, they must also be black, white or green. Also leggings MUST NOT be
worn with just polo or jumper, they are leggings not pants.
Eden of 2R said "Water and sunlight are two of the most very important things for a plant to grow very
healthy".
After the 6 weeks was up students planted the beans into the garden during our garden program.
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY— 8/5/ - 2/6

COMMONWEALTH SCHOOL BANKING—WEDNESDAYS
The silver tokens that are placed in your banking wallet every week will no longer be used. When a deposit is made the bank keeps a
record and once you reach 10 deposits you will be called to the office to select a prize. Please take the tokens out of your folders and
keep them at home as we do not need them.
ABSENTEES
If your child/ren are away, could you please notify the school. There are three ways to do this - by ringing the school office on 9367
6555, by using our school website absent form on www.kpps.vic.edu.au or by downloading our school phone app Updat-ed.
HEAD LICE
We have had a few reported cases of head lice so we are asking parents to check their child’s hair on a regular basis. We have
checked the classrooms involved and will continue to monitor the problem at school.
