Fund-a-Need - Support the Soup Kitchen It takes more than a big pot and a ladle to run a soup kitchen program! The PNA serves three meals each week to more than 150 hungry people. City of Seattle funding, donations from Food Lifeline, and the support of people like you make this possible. Expenses include a half-time program supervisor, coordination of volunteers, payments to the host sites to offset utility costs, as well as the purchase of operating supplies (think food-handling gloves and lots of ground coffee). Think of your donation as meat and potatoes or a dash of spice – either way it really helps the recipe! Costume Contest Did you come dressed as your favorite movie character? You could win an Oscar for your role in tonight’s event. At the end of the evening, all interested stars will be entered in our costume contest. Winner will be determined by popular vote. Silent Auction u Silent Auction items have either a table tent describing the item or the item itself. A bid sheet is nearby with the catalog number and closing time. The opening bid and subsequent minimum raises are already printed on the bid sheet. To bid on an item, write your bid number and last name next to one of the predetermined bid amounts. If you choose to make a guaranteed bid (approximately 150% of retail value) the item is automatically yours! u Closing times are noted on the bid sheet by each item. Closing times will be announced by the auctioneer five minutes and one minute before closing. u The final bid or guaranteed bid constitutes the winning bid. Live Auction u Live Auction items are listed in the catalog. u To place a bid, hold your bid number toward the auctioneer. The auctioneer’s pronouncement of SOLD will determine the winner. CASH, CHECK, VISA, MASTERCARD or AMERICAN EXPRESS ACCEPTED FOR AUCTION PURCHASES. General Rules u Each bidder receives a bid number when they check in. This number serves as the bidder’s silent and live bid number as well as the account number for checking out. u The written or verbal bid constitutes a legal contract to purchase the item. All purchases are final; there will be no exchanges or refunds on items unless otherwise noted. u All items must be paid for in full during the evening unless other arrangements have been made with the Auction Committee. Items may be removed from the building only by exhibiting a PAID receipt from the cashier. Payment may be made in cash, check, VISA, Mastercard, or American Express. Make checks payable to the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA). u The Auction Committee has attempted to describe and catalog all items accurately and will not be held responsible for the correctness or condition of the items. No statement made at this Auction shall be deemed as a warranty, representation or assumption of liability. The values listed are estimates. Items have not been appraised. u Each person issued a bid number assumes all risks and hazard related to the Auction and any items obtained at the Auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability all persons who have been connected with organizing this Auction. u Note all conditions, restrictions and expiration dates on items and services. Some items must be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time for both parties.
