suitcases made of real leather. Yup, pebble-grained
cowhide. With these cases, which have terrific
character, you will set yourself off from the great un-washed

belted with metal tongue
buckles, and double

Okay, here goes: Instead of telling a story with each of these ZEISS, (and a few
Leitz, Wetzlar), the finest binoculars ever made, I’d rather give you the short-hand
on each, along with a “grade” as to its condition. Mind you, Ottmar never serves
up junk! These glasses are for the most part like brand-assed-new! The former
owners paid small fortunes for them, new, and this quality of binoculars aren’t
available anymore, not even from Zeiss, we’re sorry to say. Many come in the original fitted leather cases, which alone are worth a bloody fortune. (You don’t have
one piece of luggage as finely made as these cases). And if you suppose that some

Schweizer-Deutsche Optik We have collaborated at length with the fine German company, A. Schweizer GmbH,
to put together a comprehensive, and complete line of magnifiers, of all types, for virtually any application. What is of note
here, that Schweizer still grinds all their own glass. Yeah, Schott white glass. The best there is. The reason we like glass, as
opposed to acrylic, is that when you work with solvents and get a drop on the acrylic, you’re screwed, because the acrylic

Faribault Woolen Mills
Founded in 1865, the year Lincoln died and the Civil War ended on the banks of the Cannon
River in Faribault, MN. The Faribault Woolen Mill is a living testament to American craftsmanship, their woolens are renowned
for their comfort and quality. From providing woolen blankets for pioneers heading west, to comforting our troops through

huge collar, Pea Coats traditionally have, along with two outside

Made by the Léon Jeantet Company of France, founded in 1880 by Eugene
Jeantet. Then in 1929 Léon Jeantet created a brand-new form of protective
eyewear to match the higher speed forms of mobility that hadn’t existed
before, namely: autos, motorcycles and flying machines! Obviously the lenses
have changed with the times, from glass to polycarbonate & acetate, but the
basics are the same as when they were first made 86 years ago! Very laborintensive, each set of goggles requires 60 manual operations to completion!
Despite their old design, you won’t find a better fitting, more comfortable set

Since you continue clamoring for sextants, we made a decent purchase of
these very nicely kept units, made by
the famous naval instrument maker,
Henry Hughes & Son, for the Royal
Navy. These are ex Reserve Stock
Ministry, and have all been checked in
2011/12, and are ready for service.
They date back to the 1980’s, are all in
the original grey with brass scale, and
come in heavy wooden cases. (Some of
the cases show some wear). These
units cost the Ministry of Defence
£3,724 at the time of purchase! The
sextant measures 9.5” x 9” x 4.25”,
weighs 4.55 lbs. In the case, measure
11.5” x 11” x 6”, weigh 10.6 lbs
marine design, patented nearly 200 years ago, unchanged and
in use on ships ever since. Philip Thomas, foreman of the
‘chain-shop’ at Brown-Lenox invented the addition of the stud
in 1819, making the chain stronger, and for the next 100 yrs
this firm in Pontypridd made all the chain for the Royal Navy,
and most great ocean liners. So here we offer something really
special, a double link of 6” stud-link chain, salvaged from the
most special anchor chain in the world, bronze Royal Navy
Mine-Sweeper chain! Logically all of the anchors, chain, and
deck fittings on a Mine-Sweeper must be non-magnetic,
avoiding the danger of setting off mines! Hence they are all

LARGE OVAL PORTHOLES FROM MV
AUREOL This stunning oval porthole is from an Elder
Dempster Line Passenger Ship named the MV AUREOL built
by Alexander Stephen and Sons at Glasgow in 1951. We
were at Alang, India to see Her scrapped years ago, and subsequently bought as many fittings as we could. It is very
unusual to see oval portholes on passenger ships, in fact, the
only other Ship that we have bought oval portholes from
before was the SS Kenya Castle. They do not make portholes
this robust and gorgeous any longer. The porthole has four
brass securing keys and high specification toughened glass,
which is easily strong enough to stand on. Stamped into
each porthole is Utley Rainhill. Utley is the name of the company who were brass-founders and ships light manufacturers

As a lover of anything nautical, when a stack of old charts, that
had been in use by the US Navy, became available, we jumped
on the deal. These come from all over the world! Dating as far
back as the 1890’s, with many corrections made to update
them. It’s a fantastic history of friend owning and correcting
charts from the foe and actually using them. For example,
Golfo di Pozzuoli, including Rada di Castellammare di Stabia
with Torre Annunziata, originally engraved and published in
London by the Admiralty 7th October 1890, with new corrected editions from 1902, 1911, 1917 and large corrections 13th Sept. 1940… And these came out of the chartroom of a US Naval vessel. Gorgeous stuff. These charts are
all about 40” x 27.5”, and printed on very heavy stock. Many have the corrections made by the
quartermaster’s mate on them, in red or blue. The charts are all yellowed with age, and are very
beautiful in their own right. Works of art, if you will. Since they depict random and obscure places on the globe, with many of
these localities re-named, given the course of history and politics, we’ll just sell them randomly, okay? All in great condition,

LACO Founded in Pforzheim, Germany in 1925, by Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel, Lacher & Co. was one of several
watchmakers that were contracted by the Reich to produce the legendary pilot and observation watches for the Luftwaffe.
Both watches employed the 22 line Durowe bridge anchor movements, whose fine adjustments were done to chronometer
specs. They were an important navigational tool, back then, and we are pleased to offer them in our fine watch selection. All
share the same, durable Miyota 821A automatic (self-winding), non-hacking 21 jewel, 6 Hz movements, with uni-directional

MECHANICAL TIMEPIECE INFORMATION
WATCH PURCHASE POLICY
All Timepieces we sell are mechanical, unless otherwise noted.
Mechanical means either manual-wind or automatic (self-winding).
Being mechanical devices, they’ll never have the dead-on accuracy of
quartz or atomic clocks/watches. That simply isn’t possible… How
active you are, how you place your watch on the nightstand,
temperature, and magnetic fields, all argue against perfection! If your
Timepiece gains a few seconds/minutes over a noticeable period, try
laying it out differently at night when you take it off. Face down; face
up; on left edge; on right edge. If you use a watch winder, all bets are
off, and you’ll just have to re-set the time manually.
As of 1 November 2013, we will not accept any returns of any
Timepieces after a customer’s inspection period of five (5) days from
the ship date. Hence, a 5 Day Return Policy. Here’s why… We ship all
new Timepieces, fully inspected and running properly by our
knowledgeable staff. The Timepieces are fully wound-up, and set for
the customer’s local time, and sent per 2-Day express/insured service,
so you should have plenty of time to either Love or Hate it… So
please don’t wear/carry the timepiece for a week, or more, risk
banging it against doorframes, or whatever, and then expect us to take
it back! If you Hate it, simply return it, unused and unworn, at your
cost. (We suggest insuring it for its full value). All new Timepieces sold
by us are guaranteed by their makers for 24 months, and therefore all
warranty claims are handled by the Makers, or their authorized repair
facilities, not us. Each Timepiece has its respective certificate
instruction warranty card or booklet with it. There you will find the
addresses and telephone numbers of the makers. Remember: taking
the Timepiece to an unauthorized repair facility voids all warranties!
In order to get the proper power reserve out of a mechanical watch,
(typically 38-42 hrs), you must first fully wind the mainspring, gently!
You’ll feel it tighten up before it’s fully wound. This is especially true of
automatic (self-winding) watches. You must fully wind it before wearing.
No matter what, always handle a Timepiece, its crown and pushers
and stoppers gently. There’s no need to force anything!

These brand-new, French army shorts are the most gorgeous I’ve
ever held in my hands! Made with a heavy, 100% cotton twill,
inverse pleated front, button secured and flapped back pockets,
deep hand pockets, button-fly. They have a 7” inseam, and are
double-needle, lap-fell sewn in the crotch. Unbelievably, they date
back to the 1950’s. There’s only one problem: we only have them in waist-size 34…
Damnit. That means I can’t wear ‘em, unless
