GSR Project Construction Alert — Daly City, Broadmoor and Colma The Regional Groundwater Storage and Recovery (GSR) project will begin construction to build 16 well facilities including chemical treatment equipment, tanks, pumping systems, and associated pipelines. Ranger Pipelines, Inc. is the contractor performing this work. The Project started construction in April 2015 and estimates construction completion in November 2017. Weather and/or unforeseen construction issues could impact the schedule. During construction, there may be periods of inactivity at each site within the construction schedule. Please be sure to sign up for our blog or e-mail list to keep up to date on these intermittent work schedules. What to Expect During Construction Site Preparation During site preparation activities, the contractor will remove materials, set up the construction staging area, create construction site access and install fences along the SFPUC construction limits. Other activities associated with site preparation activities may include: Intermittent sidewalk closures and detours near construction limits. Tree removal inside the SFPUC’s construction limits to prepare for construction. Construction Activities Residents or business owners near the construction sites may encounter noise, vibration, dust, parking and traffic impacts. Pipeline installation pictured above will be similar to pipeline work on the GSR Project. We will maintain access to businesses and residences near the construction sites, but there may be temporary delays. The SFPUC and its contractors will work to minimize noise, dust and traffic impacts, but some disruptions are expected due to the nature of construction. Every effort will be made to keep these impacts to a minimum. Please reference each individual site in this brochure for specific work hours. Parking will be prohibited in the work zone during work hours.
