Solo Tha Pacman
Growing up in the small town of Red Springs, North Carolina.
Corey "Solo THa PacMan" Jackson never knew that one day he
would be interested in tha music industry. Always quiet and
keeping to himself, (which earned him the name "Solo") he
would follow his cousin's to the studio. He watched as they
would write to instrumentals, and listened when they stepped in
the booth. As Solo grew older he started hanging out with his
older cousin who listened to alot of northern hip hop. Solo
began listening to Red Man, Keith Murray, Eric Sermon, Wu
Tang Clan,The Lox, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, DMX, eTC. Among
the many MC's Solo listened to, Jay-Z was his favorite.
Listening to Jay-Z's metaphors and laid back flow inspired Solo
to write his first 16 bars, which would soon turn into 32. Solo still
continued to go to the studio with his cousin's, and even though
he never recorded anything he always sat and observed.
In the summer of 2004, Solo decided to move away from North
Carolina. He moved to his dad's home in Conway, Arkansas.
He didnt do much rapping due to the fact he did not know
anybody, Solo just continued to write and sharpen his skills.
Solo was then introduced to B.I. Dub and K Nada, a rap duo
that went by the nameof "Mattin Click". B.I. Dub and K Nada
recorded their own music, and even though it wasn’t the
expensive/fancy equipment Solo was use to seeing he still
wanted to be apart of what they had going. Solo became real
close with Mattin Click, taking over the streets of Conway with
each mixtape they put out. Soon talent started coming from
everywhere, mc's, singers, and producers. Every one wanted a
spot in the Mattin Click light, but there wasn't room for
everybody. Solo and B.I. came up with a solution to the problem,
"start a record label" Money Grubaz Ent. was formed. As popularity came, ego's grew bigger and most of the original
members of MGE left the label. In the fall of 2006, Solo met a
rap group from Florida that called themselves GVC. The GVC
group was made up of Supa Jitt, Murda Man, and King Fire.
Solo and GVC's chemistry was automatic, King Fire made Solo
part of the group and gave him a addition to the name Solo,
"THa PacMan". The group took off, blazing through the city for
two summers straight. Releasing multiply albums and mixtapes
GVC became one of the most known and respected hip hop
groups in Conway AR. and the groups home town of Greenville
Florida. With Solo's hard hitting dirty south beats, and
everybody's individual/unique flows, GVC was able to take over
half of central Arkansas.
Today, Solo is currently focusing on his own career. With three
albums finished and one in the making, he is sure to be the next
"big" thing. Solo has become one of the top artist in Arkansas,
and one of the top producers in Conway. He has began doing
work for many people, famous and underground. His most
memorable songs are: "I'm Gangsta"(So Southern), "The World
is Mine"(910 Album), "This and That"(910 Album),
"Attention"(Sophisticated Gangsta), "I aint lyin"(Sophisticated
Gangsta), "Show a Stacc"(Sophisticated Gangsta),
"Go"(Sophisticated Gangsta), and off of his up and coming
album Professionalism, "I am Legend", "More than a lil bit", and
the summer smash hit "Muscle Man". Solo feels that he has
reached and surpassed artist development and is ready to leave
his mark in the music industry. His smooth laid back lyrical flow
makes him one of the top MC's today, and he is sure to become
a legend in the world of hip hop. "In order to pave the way you
have to pay your way" -Solo Da PacMan-
