This guideline issued in July 2005 referred to the German Standard DIN 4102: 1977 Part 2, DIN 4102 Part 12: 1998 and the NEN 1010: 2001. In part 2 and part 12 of the German Standard DIN 4102 the test procedure is described. In the NEN 1010 the mounting of the transmission systems in the concrete soffit is described. Because of the interest of certification, this guideline is arranged by the Dutch Committee 353 086 for “Fire Alarm systems”. The subjects of this guideline are meant as supplement for the references in the different standards and guidelines for resistance of anchors during a fire. The basis demands as described in the standards define the rules and cannot be overruled by this Dutch Guideline of Practice. For the examination of the steel anchors of Powers Fasteners Europe, based on the mentioned guideline, the anchors are loaded with a steel weight defined by Powers Fasteners Europe. Emphasizely will be noted that the examination is performed according to the German Standard DIN 4102 Part 2 and not Part 12 because this standard is meant for fire resistance for cables and this test only concerns anchors in concrete. Efectis Nederland report | 2008-Efectis-R0314(E) | April 2008 4 / 23 Power Fasteners Europe B.V. 2 Examination Determination of the fire resistance based on the NPR 2576: 2005 and DIN 4102 Part 2: 1977 of steel anchors of Powers Fasteners Europe, type Snake, PBZ, DM, BT, PTB, GVO and C3XHpin (a total of 16 anchors). 3 Sponsor Powers Fasteners Europe B.V. Kortekaas This report is issued by the TNO company Efectis Nederland BV (previously TNO Centre for Fire Research). TNO decided, in response to international developments and requests by customers, to collaborate with two European Egolf partners, both highly experienced in fire safety: the Norwegian Sintef/NBL and the French CTICM. Thus, through scaling up, a more comprehensive service of high quality and a wider range of facilities can be offered. In order to achieve this, the fire safety related activities of the partners involved have been privatised in this collaboration. With respect to TNO this has lead to the privatisation on the 1st of July 2006 of the activities of the TNO Centre for Fire Research via the establishment of the company Efectis Nederland BV.
