FOREWORD
Welcome to the Academic Year 2015-2016. Together, we can make this
the most successful year of yours.
TANUVAS is a multicultural community that values and respects its
members. We take pride in the fact that our faculty, staff, and students come
from various backgrounds and all parts of the world, and we welcome their
diverse perspectives and contributions. It is our policy to provide a working
and learning environment in which faculty, staff, and students are able to
realize their full potential as productive members of the farming community.
TANUVAS affirms its commitment to equal opportunity in education for all
qualified individuals regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender,
age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, applicable veteran status, or
any other characteristic protected as applicable by state or local law. Further,
TANUVAS is committed to taking affirmative action to increase opportunities
at all levels of education and to increase opportunities for participation in
programs and activities by all faculty, staff, and students. Every member of the
TANUVAS community: faculty, staff, and student, is expected to cooperate fully
in meeting these goals.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to
think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education”
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
Each person’s education is an individual journey and we realize and
understand that your particular educational journey through TANUVAS
Community and its constituent college may encounter unforeseen challenges
that delay or divert your goal of obtaining a degree, certificate, or diploma. We
pledge to do everything possible to help you navigate those challenges in order
to successfully complete your chosen program of study and for a seamless
transition either into the workforce or on to a higher education institution.
We have our own new buildings, more modern classrooms, innovative
technologies and business partnerships that allow students to work closely
with industry professionals through our extramural exchange programs or
through individual program practices. These opportunities allow you to hone
your skills for successful transition from the classroom to the workforce.
The Academic calendar is a comprehensive guide to all undergraduate,
postgraduate programs and courses available at TANUVAS. It outlines all the
academic programs and resources, policies, procedures, and student services
in effect at the time of publication. It serves as a primary source of information
for graduate students, faculty, and administration. Prospective students and
others can also use these sections to gain an understanding of the university –
its history, its campus setting, its campus life, etc., – as a whole. The programs
described in this bulletin are applicable to those students who have entered
Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences (TANUVAS) in the academic year
2015-2016. Students follow the programs described in the bulletin in effect
at the time of their first registration. Changes in programs and policies often
occur before a new bulletin is published. The education cell is the student’s
major department and is the best source for current curriculum information.
Each student is responsible for knowing the material furnished in this booklet.
Updates are also listed on www.tanuvas.ac.in. The Dean’s office can also
refer students to the appropriate administrative office for current policies and
procedures.
Finally remember
“Success is a science; if you have the conditions, you get the result”
- Oscar Wilde
Best wishes
