IMPORTANT REMINDERS
FOR ADVENTURE TOURS
Tours in this brochure marked with the Action symbol are essentially
adventure holidays and are unsuitable for children or the elderly. Travellers
should be reasonably fit as forest walking, cycling, rafting and elephant-back
riding are required and travel is often by simple, open mini-truck. Overnight
accommodation is also simple, in local-style lodges, without private facilities.
Actual trekking routes may be changed, according to local and seasonal
variations. Take a backpack for day-use, plus swimsuit and waterproof bag
for camera on rafting portion. During rainy season (June-November) take
light rainwear. Smoking is not allowed in vehicles or rainforest. An overnight
stay in Chiang Mai before and after these tours is recommended.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Leave Chiang Mai hotel by Landrover to visit an elephant working camp at Mae-Sa. Continue to
visit orchid farm. After lunch, proceed to visit Meo hilltribe village at Nong Hoi Mai. Afternoon at leisure in
the hilltribe village. BBQ dinner at the Hmong Hilltribe Lodge followed by Meo dances. Overnight at Hmong
Hilltribe Lodge. (L,D)
Day 2 - After breakfast drive to Ban Pong Kwaw on rarely used dirt roads. Visit a farmer’s house and small
temple. Continue driving through the forest to Pai and the Huey Nam Dang National Park. Overnight at

Day 3 - After breakfast visit Lahu hilltribes and continue on to Lod cave. After local lunch visit Karen village
where women still weave clothes. Overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Transfer to Elephant Camp and enjoy 45-minute ride through the forest. Board a motorised longtail boat for trip upriver to suspension bridge. Continue by 4WD to Pha-sua waterfall for picnic lunch. After
lunch drive to Ban Naisoi to visit the Khaya hilltribe village home of the long-necked Padong tribe. Return
to resort in Mae Hong Son for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Drive to Wat Phra Dhat Doi Kong Mu and visit Burmese-style temples. After lunch transfer to the

Day 1 - Depart by 4WD stopping at hilltribe museum and local market. On to villages for an elephant
safari and ox-cart riding. After picnic lunch, journey on inflatable rafts (or, depending on the season,
floating on bamboo rafts) down the rapids of the scenic Mae Tang River. Continue by 4WD through
