BASIC FACTS ABOUT POLAND
We will meet in Warsaw, the capital city, but there are other interesting major
cities attracting many tourists such as Krakow, Gdansk, Szczecin or Wroclaw.
Poland is a very picturesque country, rich in nature and full of different sights:
from sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea, green and crystal-clear lakes in the Mazury
region (in the North-East), green forests to the snow tipped Tatra mountains.
Poland is pretty homogenous country (ethnic groups: Polish 96.7%, German 0.4%,
Belarussian 0.1%, Ukrainian 0.1%, other 2.7%) . The currency is zloty (PLN) = 100
groszy (1 euro = 4,41 PLN) which is easily exchanged in numerous exchange offices
from euro or dollars. Our political system is parliamentary democracy.
