C O R P O R AT E H I R E The Lecture Theatre W5’s Lecture Theatre is a superbly laid out space, serviced by built in audio visual aids with a separate AV booth. The theatre has tiered seating for 200 and is a very special space which is ideal for educational lectures and events, operational and press briefings and presentations. The lecture theatre can be accessed by guests from Level 5 and by VIPS from Level 4 stage side. General Background Area: W5 is Ireland’s award-winning interactive discovery centre, exploring subjects like science, technology, art and design. Visitors can let their imagination turn, twist and fly through over 250 hands-on exhibits and experience live science demonstrations, group challenges, interactive quests and educational programmes. Capacity: Visitors can also enjoy weekend and holiday events. The centre is open daily, 7 days a week. Popular seasonal activities at Easter, Halloween and Christmas have added a new dimension to the W5 experience, and there are a host of temporary exhibitions each year in addition to our permanent galleries. W5 opened on 31st March 2001 and has become one of Ireland’s favourite visitor attractions and educational facilities. This room never fails to impress local and visiting guests. The Point is fully air-conditioned and is ideal for business and breakfast meetings, training seminars, media interviews, outside broadcasts and corporate hospitality. The Point has its own private kitchen facility and hosting area. Area: 48 sqm (triangular) Capacity: • 18 boardroom style • 30 seated dinner • 50 theatre style Facilities: • Air conditioning • Built in AV system and white screen / Blinds • Internet access and Video conferencing Seminar Rooms 1/2 & 3/4 These classroom style rooms are primarily for the educational workshops. A removable partition can create 2 smaller spaces. Please note that these rooms are not fully soundproofed and we advise a site visit to ensure their suitability for your event. Area: 100 sqm Capacity: • Theatre style up to 80 people (when room combined). Reception up to 60 people • Grouped tables and chairs education style 32 • Rectangular table 5 chairs at each up to 40 Facilities: • Built in white screen & pull down screen • Blinds / WiFi & nternet access • Mounted projector installed in 1 half of room • Removable partition can create 2 smaller spaces Health & Safety Please be aware W5 is a public building therefore any corporate events taking place within the building during operational hours must not affect core business. The capacities noted must be adhered to. Any additional numbers must be communicated to the Corporate Services Department prior to the event. Should these numbers vary significantly this may affect compliance with fire regulations and prevent the event from happening. It is your responsibility to observe all fore regulations applicable to the holding of your event, and comply with any instruction of, or measures recommended by the Fire Authority for Northern Ireland in relation thereto, and in particular shall comply in all respects with any direction given by the Fire Authority (or the Facilities Manager) in relation to seating and exhibition lay-outs and emergency exit arrangements. Final approval positioning of staging etc & use of technical equipment lies with the Facilities Manager and all requirements must comply with the W5 Fire and Health & Safety Regulations. PAT Testing The client is wholly responsible for any equipment/appliance brought into the building. All equipment must be PAT tested for insurance purposes and evidence provided to show that this has taken place. If equipment has not been tested, W5 will not permit the appliance to be connected to a supply. W5 can test the equipment however a charge will apply for this service. Please note that W5 PAT testing is for approval of use during this event only. Catering W5 can cater for smaller events. We offer an AV run-through, before the event to familiarise you with all of the equipment.We would advise that all presentations are sent to your office beforehand to be loaded onto your laptop. Our technician will assist with the setting up of your equipment, but we advise that you provide your own operator for the duration of the event. Car Parking On-site car parking is available for up to 1,500. The Car Parks are under the control of Odyssey Trust Company Ltd. Parking costs are as follows; Up to 1 hour £1.00 Up to 2 hours £2.00 Up to 3 / 4 hours £3.00 Up to 5 / 6 hours £3.50 Up to 7 hours £4.50 Up to 8 hours £5.50 Prepay option £3.50 for up to 6 hours. This can be selected on the pay stations situated at the entrance/exit of the car parks.
