SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 2014 TROPICAL PARK, MIAMI, FL 7:30 a.m. – Registration Begins 8:30 a.m.- Opening Ceremonies 9:00 a.m. - Walk Begins March for Babies 2014 - Last Minute Tips Directions The Route From South: Take Palmetto Expressway North and get off on Miller Road (SW 56th Street) and turn left. Take the second right into Tropical Park. From North: Take Palmetto Expressway South and get off on Bird Road (SW 40th Street) and turn right. Get in the left hand lane and turn left to enter the park through 79th Avenue. The route is approximately 3 miles through beautiful Tropical Park. Runners may begin ahead of the walkers as directed. Remember, walkers must stay on the route and follow all walk signals. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Let's keep the route clean by throwing trash in containers at each Fun Stop. Parking Park for FREE at Tropical Park, look for the signs and enter through Bird Road or Miller Road. We expect about 8,000 participants so please allow yourself plenty of time—try to carpool and come early to avoid possible traffic! Be sure to visit the Fun Stops along the route for a cold drink, pick up some goodies, use the port-o-lets, receive first aid, and of course… have fun! Fun Stops Ambassador Avenue Along the walk route, you’ll have a chance to visit with our mission families along Ambassador Avenue. They are anxious to meet you and say thank you for walking for stronger, healthier babies. Hospitality Area March of Dimes volunteers will be at the Hospitality Area to greet you bright and early the morning of March for Babies. You’ll enjoy complimentary bananas, donuts, and beverages. Please make sure to visit our wonderful sponsor booths and check out their great activities and giveaways! VIP Tent and VIP Parking Top Walkers and sponsors should stop by the VIP Tent for complimentary breakfast. Entry is by invitation only. The VIP Tent is located on the football field. Be sure to use the Miller Road entrance for specially marked parking. Be sure to wear your wristband. Team Photos—Midfield in the Stadium Team photos will be taken at the Team Photo Area starting at 8:00 a.m. We will have a break for the start of the Walk and will resume team photos at 10:15 a.m. Please bring a company banner for your photo. Family Fun Area Kick Off—Tropical Park Memorial Stadium The Pre-Event Celebration starts at 7:30 a.m. in the football stadium so come early! Our March for Babies Chair, Paco Gonzalez, City President - Miami Dade, SunTrust, Presenting Sponsor Pampers and our Ambassador Family, the Castro-Curiel Family will welcome over 520 corporate and family teams and over 8,000 participants. Join us in front of the stage for a preevent warm up that will be sure to get you energized for the Walk. The March of Dimes Miami-Dade/Monroe Division Board of Directors is proud to be hosting local media talent Calvin Hughes from Local 10, Eileen Cardet from Univision 23, and Javier Romero from Amor 107.5. We’ll have tons of surprises for you, you won’t want to miss a minute. Bring the kids to the Family Fun Area (just outside the stadium) where we’ll have fun activities, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones and more! Entertainment and Victory Village Entertainment will take place on the stage in the football stadium and will begin at 9:30 a.m. with great local performances! Teams that have pre-confirmed tent space will be just outside and in back of the football field. Thank you for understanding that no other tents can be accommodated. Registration Tent for Donations and T-Shirt Tent If you missed Bank Day and have walker envelopes to turn in, be sure visit the Registration Tent in the stadium. Be sure to pick up your official March for Babies T-shirt at the T-shirt Tent if you’ve turned in your donations of $200 or more. Thank you for walking for stronger, healthier babies!
