WELCOME TO
EduCamp
Welcome to our new summer day camp format for schoolers
that have finished K through 13 years of age. Our goal is to help
eliminate the worry of working parents by providing a Christian
alternative to child care or staying home alone during the summer months. Our staff are busy planning activities and group
times that focus on educational themes as well as Christian values. We also have an awesome discipleship curriculum for EduCamp.
Get ready for a fast paced summer! Each EduCamp week provides a compliment to traditional school activities, but are
rooted in hands-on discovery that intersect with field experts to
expand the adventures. Everything is designed to meet the active needs of children during the summer within a Christian environment. I know your schooler will have a wonderful time!
Please take a moment to read through this handbook. It is
packed full of important information such as medicine policies,
programming, & finance policies.
It is my goal to provide a wonderful environment for your child
this summer. I am available for your questions, compliments,
and/or concerns. Please feel free to contact me if you have any
questions.

EduCamp is educational and theme-oriented which features EduThemes,
EduExperts, EduTrips, and EduXhibitions each week. Listed below is a
brief description of some of the various activities offered by EduCamp.
EduExperts— Each week we will have an expert in the theme come share their insights and expertise on the topic in a child-friendly manner. EduExperts will come on
our campus usually prior to our field trips to help set the environment for the week.
EduExperts will usually be available to help campers prepare and/or execute projects for
our Friday EduXhibitions to showcase our experiences.
EduTrips—Campers will experience two field trips on the topic of the week. These trips
were designed to enhance the EduTheme.
EduXhibitions—Friday mornings the campers will finish up their projects and opening of
video our EduXhibition. This is a time where their experience with the EduExpert and
EduTrips will be showcased for you to see. EduXhibitions will be in HCA’s main hall.
Discipleship Time — This year we will use a program called Buck Denver’s “Trip thru
the Bible.” This Bible DVD program currently is a favorite of many of our schoolers. A
Bible Question of the Week will be talked about and answered as our Campers trek
through the summer together. Single session Campers will also benefit from our discipleship question of the week!
Our “Worship Wednesdays” event will combine all of our EduCamp classes together to
have a group time to watch the exciting lessons and have a time of praise and worship
for kids to enjoy. Counselors will do Bible-based activities with their teams to support
the week’s themes.
Movies — The campers will be able to “chill” in large bean bag chairs and watch a
movie on a big screen TV. On campus movie time comes once a week and is connected with our EduThemes as closely as possible. All movies are previewed for content prior to your camper’s viewing.
Outside Activities— Campers will go outside 2 times a day for playground, games,
and/or theme-related activities. When the temperature exceeds 100 degrees, we will
limit outside activity time.
FINANCE INFORMATION
Registration Fees- The registration fee is nonrefundable. If the camper does not attend on
the first day of a camp week and tuition is not paid, the space is forfeited and a new
registration and tuition will be required. You may switch to another week if done in advance
and space is available.
Tuition Fees - You will be notified in advance of any price increase/decrease in tuition.
Security Passes - Security badges or temporary sticker badges are required of all who
regularly enter the facility. Campers who come more than one session will be issued a plastic badge. Parents of single session campers will need to stop in at the office each evening
to get a paper badge. Lost or damaged security badges can be replaced at HCA: EE’s main
office for $10 each.
Hours - The hours your child is able to attend are from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (6:30 p.m. for
Extended Care). A late pickup charge of $5.00 will be assessed every quarter hour or portion thereof when children are left beyond 6:01 p.m. (6:31 p.m. for Extended Care).
Payment Schedule - Tuition is due weekly on Monday. A $10.00 late fee will be added if
tuition is not received by the close of the day on Tuesday. Your camper may not be allowed
to participate if the tuition is not received.
Fees for Caring for Ill Children - If your child becomes ill while in our care, you will be
contacted and given one hour to pick up your camper. It is possible that you will need to
pick up your child at a place other than our campus if we are on a field trip. After one hour,
a $1.00 per minute fee will be assessed until the child is picked up.
Refunds - Because our program requires us to employ staff based upon the number of
children enrolled, we cannot give tuition refunds for days your camper is absent. Full tuition
will be charged on weeks with holidays. No refund can be made of tuition due to absence,
illness, vacation or bad weather.
Withdrawal- In the event it becomes necessary for a parent to withdraw a camper from the
program, a completed withdrawal form must be signed and submitted to the office. Parents
are responsible for the full tuition payment if any days are attended during any given week.
Partial refunds are not given.
Non Sufficient Funds checks - There will be a $30.00 charge for all NSF checks.

CAMPER/PARENT INFORMATION
HCA:EE Policies—This camper handbook is to complement HCA: EE policies in our Parent Handbook. Please refer to this document on our website www.hcasaints.org for additional information.
On Campus Food—Each camper will need to bring their own sack lunch and drink each day.
Morning and afternoon snacks are provided for all campers. Please send lunches clearly marked
with your camper’s name. Due to our Texas hot summers, make sure to send chill packs in lunches
with perishable items. We are a “peanut sensitive” campus, so please do not send peanut butter
products. We encourage all of our families to send healthy and nutritious lunches to aid in your
camper’s strong development.
Personal Items—Please mark all clothing and belongings with your camper’s name. Campers may
not bring personal toys to summer camp except for specially designated event days. This includes
items such as Gameboys, radios, TV’s, and trading cards. Please do not send the
following
with your camper: knives, guns, and medication. We prefer for cell phones to stay at home. If on
campus, cell phones must remain in backpacks. We are not responsible for personal items that are
lost.
Attendance—Your camper will need to be here between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day to participate in their special activities and insure that they are here on time to go on our field trips.
Please make arrangements in advance if you will need to pick up your child during these hours.
Clothing—On field trips days EDUCAMP t-shirts are required attire. We also suggest shorts, socks,
shoes, and a cap. Caps and sunscreen are recommended because we do a lot of activities outside.
Halter tops or bare feet are not allowed.
EduCamp t-shirts must be worn on all off-campus field trips.
Medication— If your camper requires medication, you must fill out a daily medication authorization
permit. All medicine must be in its original container with prescription information including the
child’s name, recommended dosage, date and dispensing physician's name. Over the counter
medicines must have a doctor’s note. Controlled Substance medications must be turned in to our
main office.
All children who are on medications for behaviors, focus, emotional issues, anxiety, and/or
medications that help a child participate in a group learning environment must continue those
medications while in our program.
Sick Campers—EduCamp Staff are unable to care for campers who are ill. If your camper is ill,
they cannot participate in camp activities. You will have one hour to pick up your camper from the
office.
Lost and Found—There is a lost and found bin located in the hall by the morning classroom for
items that have ‘lost’ their camper.
Security —All persons picking up campers must have an HCA security badge or a temporary pass
from the office. Temporary passes may be obtained from the reception area at HCA: EE’s main office. Parents of drop-in campers may choose to opt out of purchasing a security badge, but will
need to enter through our main doors, and go to our main office to pick up a temporary pass daily.
Sun Screen—Please slather on long-lasting sunscreen onto your child at home BEFORE coming to
EduCamp. Re-applications can be done at EDUCAMP after discussing application specifications
with your camper’s teacher.
