Moonwalk
CLEA T. WAITE
MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT
MINUTES: 22
Beautiful Moonwalk weaves together literature and science with iconic songs and imagery into a grand audiovisual
hyperlink. The film characterizes our placid heavenly neighbor as a living, scintillating force. Stemming from the countless
photos which comprise lunar atlases, the Moon shatters into pieces, and then rebuilds itself. It evolves from its familiar
pregnant blackness into a lambent, jittering hive of voices and sounds. Moonwalk reminds us of the Moon’s ubiquity,
compelling us to reconstruct our own personal history of the Moon. This accomplished work reaches beyond the idealized
childhood daydreams of the heavens, past the familiar Apollo footage, and into the tender roots of culture which weave
throughout our daily personal lives.

Space Opera
TIMELINE 360
MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT
MINUTES: 40
Space Opera is a virtual interplanetary journey realized with CG “spherical rendering” technology and presented in a 360º
panoramic hemispherical view, a “fulldome” video within a dome dedicated to the projection of works such as that of the
planets. The discovery of a flying disc beneath the earth allows passengers to take off from the Earth and visit an entire
solar system in less than 40 minutes: the visual setup of the opera is absolutely experimental and unedited. The ambient
recreates the interior of an alien spaceship where a voice facilitates the journey and provides information on each galactic
stop. Space Opera is therefore an artistic, philosophic, scientific and cinematic experience all at the same time and indeed
a unique experience of its kind.
