Medisoft v19 ICD-10 Functionality The transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 will impact your practice’s workflow, and Medisoft can help you manage the changes. This release has many features designed to help both reduce manual entry and minimize the complexity of ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping. Where applicable, the display shows how ICD-10 corresponds to ICD-9. See figure 1. figure 1 Customized carrier settings The new codes go into effect on October 1, 2014, but a select few carriers might not transition on day one. Medisoft v19 allows you to specify whether the carrier is using ICD-9 or ICD-10 and warns you if the wrong code is entered. This helps to both save time and reduce coding errors. It’s also easy to set the new code when you add new carriers. See figure 2. Mapping tool Medisoft v19 features a mapping tool based Medisoft Mobile When you purchase Medisoft v19, you can on CMS’s General Equivalent Mappings (GEM) that can help you translate some ICD-9 codes to ICD-10.
