After Sales Service set-up:
Infovision is based in Mumbai, India with service centers in Pune, New Delhi, Jalandhar,
Kolkata, Rampur, Gorakhpur, Bangalore, Surat, Nasik and Chennai. These centers are
equipped with all essential spare parts required for after sales services. We specialize in the
development and construction of targeted concepts for Digital Planetariums, theme parks,
water Laser Shows, entertainment, edutainment attractions, museums, Science Galleries,
Science Exhibits, aquariums, and leisure tourism destinations.
Infovision & E&s has entered into Operation and maintenance contract with following
Planetariums in India.
1. Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai – Five year maintenance Contract.
2. Yashvantrao Chavan Planetarium and Science Centre, Nasik – Three years operation
and maintenance contract. We have stationed our staff of 13 at Nasik.

now entered in AMC for one year.

Infovision has a team of more than 18 qualified technical
staff having experience in the field of Planetarium. All
engineers are trained by Evans & Sutherland – USA.
Infovision team is also
being
used
for
installation
and
maintenance of Digistar
system
in
other
countries. Very recently, two Infovision engineers were
deputed to Dubai Mall for their prestigious installation of
Digistar SXRD.
Show Production:
Infovision has two (2) production studios in India at
Nashik and Mumbai. These studios are equiped with
all necessary hardware , software etc for making of
Planetarium shows. The audio editing , dubbing and
animations are done in in-house studios. Entire
production work is co-ordinated by professional
astronomers and animators . Infovision has also tied up
with the promiment personaliteis who are providing the
scripts and stories for Infovision produced shows. All
shows are being produced with technical assiatance of
Evans & Sutherland of USA and Mirage 3D of Netherlands.
Exhibit Designing team:
ITSPC a sister concerned of Infovision are expert in designing various exhibits for
Museums, science centers and other venues. The Exhibits are designed as per site
requirement and are made and fabricated locally.

Digistar in India
Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai
Since its inception, Nehru Planetarium generated
28 astronomical presentations using Carl Zeiss
Mark IV Universal Projector, which were viewed
by more than 100 lakh astronomy lovers. The
projector served its full life.
In the meanwhile, the technology marched at a
growing space bringing new ideas and means. To
keep abreast with the new technology, in the year
2003, Nehru Centre has installed Digistar-3
Planetarium equipment replacing Carl Zeiss
Universal Projector, purchased from Evans & Sutherland, of USA. All the advantages of
digital imagery are thus brought to the fingertips of the operator. In the year 2012, E&S
upgraded Graphic Computers of the planetarium system. The planetarium dome is one of
the biggest in the country with 512 audience capacity.

Veer Bahaddur Singh Planetarium, Gorakhpur (UP)
This planetarium is also equipped with Digistar 3

This project of Gorakhpur Development Authority
(GDA) was funded by Government Of Uttar
Pradesh.

Yashwantrao Chavan Planetarium and Science Centre, Nashik
This project is of Nashik Municipal Corporation. The
building was constructed in the year 1999. Initially, the
corporation had decided to installed Opto Mechanical
system such as Goto or Carl Ziess. But as per the
recommendations of experts, they were directed to go for
Digital Planetarium System.
In early 2003, experts and few officials went to USA for
demonstration of Digital Planetarium System as there was
not a single installation of Digital Planetarium System in India. With the expert’s
recommendation, Nashik Corporation decided to purchase Digistar 3 system.
In year 2007, the system was installed. The dome size is 11 meter diagonal having capacity
of 105 seats. The inauguration of this planetarium is done by Hon. President of India in Nov
2007.

Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, Punjab
This science city was inaugurated in the year
2006. The Goto Large Format system was
installed. The dome is 23 Meter Diameter
with unidirectional 350 seating capacity.
The Science City without planetarium is not a
science city. In June 2006, the global tenders for Multi Channel Planetarium System were
invited for instillation of the system in the same dome theatre.
On 24 th August 2007, Infovision E&S received order for Digistar 3 system from Pushpa
Gujral Science City. The theatre is opened to public in June 2008.

E&S received its 5th Indian

from Surat Municipal
Corporation. The
planetarium has been
constructed in a huge steel sphere of 16 meter diagonal.. This is a unique installation in
India. The projection dome size is 14 M diameter and the seating capacity is of 190. This
planetarium is open to public in Nov 2009.

Digistar Outreach mini Digital Planetarium
System is installed at Efforts Acadamy,
Ahmednagar. India's first privately owned Digital
Planetarium and Education Centre! The master
planning and technical consultancy was provided
by ITSPC. Now it is waiting for inauguration. This
facility will also conduct day and night workshops
on astronomy. The site has a facility of lodging
and boarding for school trips and can
accommodate up to 150 students at a time.

In the month of July 2011, we have concluded an

In the month of Nov 2011, we have concluded an
order from Jawaharlal Memorial Fund, Teen Murti
House, New Delhi. The Digistar 4 SP2HDQ
Digital Planetarium System has been installed in
existing Jawahar Planetarium, Allahabad.
The dome size is 8 M diameter and the seating
capacity is of 90. This planetarium is opened to
public on 30 April 2012.

Infovision collaborators Profile & Products
Evans & Sutherland is the world’s first computer graphics
company and has a four decade history of developing
compelling visual images and advanced computer graphics
technology. In 1968, University of Utah Professors David
Evans and Ivan Sutherland founded Evans & Sutherland to
explore and develop computer graphics technology and realtime training simulation systems. In fact E&S invented
computer graphics and founded an entire industry. E&S is
comprised of a very talented group of individuals who have,
over the years, gone on to successfully advance the
computer graphics industry founding companies and
programs such as Adobe Systems Incorporated, Pixar
Animation Studios, SGI, Netscape, and WebMD.
For over 40 years, E&S has been at the forefront of developing real-time computer graphics systems
for training simulators and other visual applications. A majority of the world’s commercial airline pilots
have been trained on E&S visual systems which have also been used by the military and department
of homeland security. E&S pioneered the very first high-performance 3D graphics add-in boards
available for the PC with its REALimage® series of GPU chips. In 1983 Digistar® was introduced as
the world’s first digital planetarium, and since then E&S has continued to apply its graphics and
display technology to offer the latest in high quality digital projection systems for digital planetariums

In 2006 Evans & Sutherland sold its commercial and military simulation divisions to Rockwell Collins,
to provide a greater focus on the development of digital planetariums and theaters, and advanced
video displays. At the same time, E&S acquired Spitz, Inc, located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania,
which made the combination into the world’s largest planetarium company.
Since 1945, Spitz has provided solutions for planetariums and
dome theaters around the world. Today it is the leading dome
manufacturer and is continually chosen by the most prestigious
customers such as The Walt Disney Company, SeaWorld, and
Universal Studios.
The acquisition of Spitz and the addition of its experienced management and staff enable the new

Digistar 5 represents today’s pinnacle of innovation in digital planetarium systems, offering users a
Universe of Possibilities to explore. Digistar 4 features a revolutionary graphical user interface that
offers users the power to drag and drop objects from the extensive library of models and graphics
directly onto the dome. Digistar 5 also incorporates our patent-pending Spherical 3D™ technology
that surrounds audiences with stereoscopic imagery all around the dome, even in the back of the
dome. Digistar 4 also incorporates a wealth of scientific and astronomical data including the
American Museum of Natural History’s Digital Universe, all completely integrated into the software.
The system is also built on open architecture, allowing users to import and visualize 3D datasets

E&S is also the world’s leading producer and distributor of fulldome shows. For over a decade E&S
has produced a steady stream of fulldome feature shows on topics from astronomy to earth
sciences, from children’s programs to science fiction. A number of our shows have won International

Science On a Sphere (SOS)® is a room sized, global
display system that uses computers and video
projectors to display planetary data onto a six foot
diameter sphere, analogous to a giant animated
globe. Researchers at NOAA developed Science On
a Sphere® as an educational tool to help illustrate
Earth System science to people of all ages.
Animated images of atmospheric storms, climate
change, and ocean temperature can be shown on the
sphere, which is used to explain what are sometimes
complex environmental processes, in a way that is
simultaneously intuitive and captivating.

to increase public understanding of the

Using
NOAA's
collective

The to be pilots of India are first trained in
the Light Combat Aircraft, Simulator Jointly
designed by Armament Development Agency
(ADA) and National Aeronautical Laboratory
(NAL) at Bangalore. The latest EIKI LC SX2
True SXGA projector having light output of
3200 ANSI lumens is used in this simulation.
EIKI LC SX2 is also compatible to 1600 x
1200 RGB resolution. Infovision had
supported ADA with their display products in
the AIR SHOW.
ISTRAC, Bangalore
Infovision has supplied two EIKI LCSX1 True
SXGA LCD Graphics projectors to ISRO
SATELLITE TRACKING CENTRE at Penia,
Bangalore. The high-resolution workstations
are connected to these projectors. Satellite
tracking is done here for the live pictures of
Earth for weather reports trough Image
Integrated Systems. The images of earth
that we see on Doordarshan Channels are
sent through this ISTRAC System.

Our new mobile exhibit – Astro Van
Today it is very important for us to educate our citizens about the
adverse effects of pollution, concrete jungle, cutting of trees etc. We
have introduced this mobile exhibit. This exhibit is the perfect,
professional tool to educate and aware people about Global warming,
recycling and importance of protection of our environment. This
exhibit will also popularise Astronomy. The documentaries and other
television shows are being telecasted by Government and other NGOs
across the world. This is a tool to reach people and the children in the
rural areas.
This exhibit is a very Effective way of communication with people. It
is just not a film but the real experience. A Portable Digital
Planetarium is destined to being portable educational environment for
almost all topics of sciences: from Astronomy to History, happening
through Anthropology, Palaeontology, Arts, etc.
This exhibit never goes out of date!!!!
The Astro Van is equipped with all necessary Latest State of The Art
High Tech equipments to promote astronomy and earth Science. The
data is continuously upgraded.
