CLUE RETRO PERFORMS FINAL SHOWS THIS WEEKEND Ulrich as Colonel Mustard (right) in 50’s version It’s been a “long haul”, as Mr. Boddy would put it, but this weekend marks the final three shows of a sevenmonth project that was Clue. The idea started during auditions, when director Aleta Watton remarked how she had more than enough actors at auditions for two casts for Clue. She also noticed that about half of those auditioning were older adults that would work well for a 50’s based show, and about half were younger adults and college students that wouldn’t necessarily fit a 50’s style production. The resulting proposal to the LTCT Board of Directors was a dual show, one being a 50’s original script and one being slightly adapted to the 80’s. The plan was that the “Retro” cast would work backstage roles for the “Traditional” cast, and then the traditional cast would flip and work support roles for the “Retro” cast. The plan was not without its bumps, as schedules became tight for both actors and support roles alike and adjustments had to be made, but for the most part the plan was a success. Actors such as Tracy Ulrich, who performed Colonel Mustard in the spring 50’s show and Chris Heinz, who played the Cop for Ulrich’s Mustard, switched roles. This is just one example of many of how these two shows and casts worked together, truly showing what Little Traverse Civic Theatre is all about; collaboration, good theatre and dedication to the arts in Northern Michigan! Don’t forget; LTCT NEEDS YOU! There are lots of volunteer opportunities for this upcoming 2013-2014 season. Contact ltct-details@ltct.org or log onto www.ltct.org for more information!
