TANALISED Featheredge Shed 8’ x 6‘ Assembly Instructions 2 people needed Time taken: 60 - 90 minutes to erect Tools needed: hammer, tape measure, gloves, spirit level, crosshead screwdriver (electric), sharp knife. Before you start assembling the shed, please check that all your components are included. The job of erecting the shed will be easier working on a flat base as well. 2 Fix together the two base panels using 70mm screws and position the completed base on level ground chosen for the site. 3 Now position one side panel and the back panel together in a right angle to support themselves. Have help at hand until the panels are fixed together using 70mm screws (each corner will need 3 x screws). 4 You should now be able to leave the L-shaped panels to free stand until you attach the remaining side panels, again using 70mm screws to fix the panels together. Finally add the front panel. 4 4 4 2 4 2 front/back fascia side facsia corners side trims 4” featheredge diamond end plates 5 Check that all the corners have been screwed together and the free standing shed is sturdy, level and makes a perfect rectangle. This is important as the roof will not fit easily if the sides are not level. 6 Once you are happy the shed is sturdy you can fix the shed to the base panel. Use the same size screws as you used on the sides (70mm) 7 Now attach the roof trusses, spacing them equal distances apart, using 70mm screws. 8 With help from someone to hold a ladder, place the four roof panels on top of the trusses making sure they butt up to each other with little or no gap in the middle and fix in place. Make sure you are using 40mm screws and that you are screwing through into the trusses from above. Assembly Instructions 8’ x 6’ Shed 9 The 4” featheredge trims can be fitted to the gaps under the roof, on the side panels. Using the 40mm nails fit the trims with an overlap of roughly one inch. Do not nail less than one inch from the edge of the boards as they will split. 12 The felt edges need to be neatly creased over and fixed in place using the felt nails. Any edges will be hidden when you fit the fascias. Trim off any excess with a sharp knife. 10 The vertical trims of timber can be attached to the corners of the shed and the joins on the sides. Use the 50mm screws, one top, middle and bottom. 13 The fascias can now be attached to the front and back using the 50mm screws. The boards should meet in the middle, on the angle. The two timber diamond finishing plates can be nailed on top of the joins. The side fascias can now be attached. All that remains now is a final check. Make sure all the corners are flush and the shed is sturdy. 11 Felting the roof will require some help again and ladders. Carefully roll out each half in situ on the roof panels lengthways. Make sure there is at least a 60mm overhang all the way around the edges. CAUTION ! This step by step guide is to help you erect your product in a safe, time efficient manner.
