In an effort to get more folks to attend our monthly meetings, a giveaway will be held a couple of times a year
to award some lucky members with a free membership to the American Motors Owners Association (our Club is an
AMO chapter). If the lucky winner is already an AMO member, he or she will have the option of a free membership
in one of the other national AMC clubs, such as AMCRC or NAMDRA. Keep an eye out for email regarding the

The American Motors Club of Houston was founded in the
early 1980’s with the goal of advancing the image and preservation
of AMC vehicles in Southeast Texas and the surrounding area.
Our club is one of three AMC organizations in Texas – the
American Motors Club of Houston, Alamo AMC based in San
Antonio, and North Texas AMC headquartered in Dallas form a
strong contingent of Texas AMC fellowship, experience and
support.
We are a chapter of the American Motors Owners Association
(AMO) and we strongly suggest joining this fine organization.
Planned activities include a large display in the annual indoor
Thanksgiving Houston AutoRama Show, the annual AMO
Lone Star Regional Show, and the annual AMC East Texas Cruisein, family picnics, cruises, parties, races, etc. The 2001 AMO
National Meet was also held in Houston!!
We have regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday
of every month (7:30 p.m.) at the Hickory Hollow restaurant,
located at 101 Heights Blvd. (just a few blocks south of I-10). If
you are not already a member, feel free to join us for a “get
acquainted” session before you sign up.
Ownership of an AMC vehicle or residence in our local area is
NOT required to join our group. Interest and enthusiasm are more
than enough. We’ll gladly help you find your own treasured AMC
if you don’t already have one!!
Dues are *$20 per year – we are a non-profit organization,
100% of your dues go to supporting club activities. The club
officers do not receive a salary for their efforts. Dues and an
enrollment form may be submitted at our monthly meetings, or
mailed to our Treasurer, Kevin Dalley, 12207 Courtney Greens Rd,
Houston, TX 77089.
AMCoH exists specifically to support you in your AMC
endeavors, and we look forward to adding your own AMC
experience to our knowledge base. If you need any additional
information, feel free to contact any of our club officers.

The 2015 Lone Star Regional was held
at the Carriage House at 3210 Bingle, in
Houston, TX on Oct 3. The weather was
fall-fabulous and a total of 29 AMC cars
made their presence felt. Everything
from AMXs to Jeeps and in-between
came out. Food was supplied by The
Cajun Hot Spot traveling food service
and was enjoyed by all.
Five awards were presented:

Former American Motors Corporation Headquarters sells for $500!!

DETROIT -- A Michigan man had the winning $500 bid this week for the former American Motors headquarters in Detroit that
sold for $2 million just five years ago. Nicholas Casab was the vacant complex's sole bidder in the Wayne County tax
foreclosure auction. Once Casab pays the $232,000 summer taxes bill for the old American Motors site, the auction sale can
be finalized, said Eric Sabree, a deputy Wayne County treasurer. More than $2 million in unpaid taxes belonging to a previous
owner were extinguished in the auction, so only the $232,000 is due.
"We are going to know in a couple days whether he's really going to buy it or not," Sabree said Thursday. "If not, (the property)
will be offered to the city. And if they object, we can transfer it to the land bank, but the land bank may not want this." Casab
could not be reached for comment.
The Plymouth Road building and its distinctive brick tower date to 1927 and once housed the manufacturer of Kelvinator
refrigerators. The Nash-Kelvinator Company merged in 1954 with the Hudson Motor Company to form American Motors,
which used the massive 1.4 million-square-feet complex as its headquarters and made Jeeps there. After Chrysler acquired
AMC in 1987, the property became the engineering center for all Chrysler and Jeep trucks and SUVs and was called the
automaker's Plymouth Road Office Complex. Chrysler kept about 900 employees in the building as late as 2009 before shifting
the work to its Auburn Hills headquarters.
Following Chrysler's bankruptcy, the building and nearby parking lots were sold for $2 million in 2010 to a corporate entity
called Plymouth Road One. That corporation is listed under the name of Terry Williams, a Detroit scrapper hauler. In 2013,
Williams told the Detroit News that he was working to turn the building into a home for autistic children. But one year later,
Williams, 50, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years, three months in prison for violating the Clean Air Act for
disturbing materials containing asbestos, the Associated Press reported. The county foreclosed on the property due to the
unpaid taxes owed by Plymouth Road One.
Note!
One week later, Wayne County canceled the sale of the complex because the winning bidder in the county’s tax foreclosure
auction missed a payment deadline. He failed to pay the $500 winning bid and $232,000 in summer taxes by the 5 p.m.
deadline on the given date. Under standard protocol for commercial properties that fail to sell at the annual county auction,
the 1.4 million square-foot facility will now be offered to the city of Detroit. It's unclear whether the city wants the property,
but Sabree says he plans to sit down with city officials to see what they want to do.

Show & Food Truck event on Sunday October 11th. Ted’s 1970 AMX fit in very well parked behind a Ferrari and a Ford
GT.

1961 Rambler American
195.3 ci inline 6, 3 on the tree transmission with overdrive, 4 door, all windows are complete no cracks. Has all trim. The
passenger door has some damage. Some of the engine is open (head, oil pan) for maintenance (have gaskets for it) Have all the
pieces labeled for reassembly. Engine turns but the crankshaft bolt broke in half inside (have the replacement bolt but need to
take the broken one out). The car use to be my daily driver till I starting working on it and due to medical bills have to sell it
