The report provides a useful medium to document the status and progress of individual chapters. Annual Reports are used to evaluate applications for SEG support and to keep information up-to-date on the SEG website. Alonso our sponsor. SEG Student Chapter National University of Salta Annual Report 2014 - 2015 1. Regular meetings, lectures. Our meetings are twice a month when we plan future activities, coordinate planned activities, evalauate passed courses, lectures and trips. The lectures that we plan are to the all University, specifically for nature scientist students, doing lectures with 30 to 70 students each time. 2. Organization of conferences, workshops, short courses. On October 2015 we organized a Conference by Doctor Alonso Ricardo N. About “How much is worth the geology” and by Geologist Bercheñi Victor, from SEGEMAR (Argentine Geological and Mining Service) about “Surface geochemical stream sediment sampling”, at the classrooms North, “K” Auditorium in Universidad Nacional de Salta. There were 40 participants between under grade, posdgrade and preoffesors, some pictures of the event. In September 2015 we organized a course for the superior technician in mining about “systematic/determinative mineralogy and mineral paragenesis: importance and applications in the mineral deposits” whit the university authorization. Participation in conferences, workshops, short courses. - Participation in the course “A Short Course on Acid Mine Drainage Geochemistry" dictated D. Kirk Nordstrom in Universidad Nacional de Salta, Argentina. - Participation in the YPF Field School for future geologist organized by YPF Foundation in Neuquén, Argentina. - Participation in the Argentina MINING in Salta, Argentina, September 2015. - Participation in the Argentina Students Geological Congress in Tucuman, Argentina, October 2015. Alonso our professional sponsor, work very hard with Argentinian mining companys to ask their support. 6. Future Plans. Continue doing lectures, courses, workshops, field trips to the different mines and potential mining places, bringing professors and coompany proffesionals to improve our knowledge in economic geology and mineral deposits, participate like an active help group in the Economic geology congress will be in Salta the next year.
