Entry Information Welcome, On behalf of the city of Salem, Oregon, let me say how excited we are to host the 2010 ASA Men’s A and B Fast Pitch National Championship Tournament. Salem has the ideal blend of facilities, amenities, and weather for your tournament. Salem’s Wallace Marine Park is a large urban park located on the Willamette River that is also home to a nationally recognized softball complex that provides five premier softball fields and offers over 1,000 seats. The Wallace Marine Park Softball Complex is located in the “heart of Salem,” close to affordable quality lodging facilities, great restaurants, exciting entertainment, and a variety of recreational opportunities. Salem is also home to many great shops that offer tax-free shopping. Former tournament attendees have noted the wonderful summer and fall weather; comfortable, mostly dry and sunny with almost no humidity. Salem has it all! A full hospitality and information packet will be sent to teams as your entry forms are submitted, fees are paid, and ASA has authorized your participation. Entry forms may be found at www.softballcityusa.com. Print a copy of the form and send with entry fee of $380 to: City of Salem Public Works Department, Attention: Billy Powers, 555 Liberty Street SE/Room 325, Salem, Oregon 97301-3513. Deadline: All entry forms and fees must be submitted and/or postmarked no later than July 9, 2010. 12-5 p.m., Team check-in at Wallace Marine Park; you must check in at least one-anda-half hours before your first game. 5 p.m., Manager’s meeting at Wallace Marine Park. One Team Manager and/ or one Team Representative must be present. 7 p.m., Opening Ceremonies; group photo in uniform; and team party. Friday, July 30, 2010 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Bracket play starts. Saturday, July 31, 2010 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Bracket play continues. Sunday, August 1, 2010 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Championship bracket play. Respect the rules of the game and how it should be played. 2. Respect their opponents by remembering a worthy opponent brings out our best. 3. Respect the game officials even when we may not agree with their calls. 4. Respect our teammates and remember our commitment on and off the playing field. 5. Respect the tradition of the game and remember it is a privilege to participate. 6. Be mindful of your conduct. Make sure that no action occurs that could reflect adversely on your sponsor or team. Remember that the inappropriate action of even one player can reflect upon your entire team and the game of softball. Please note the following: Player picture ID required Sign-in required for all players and coaches Signed Championship Roster Form required Signed National Championship Entry Form required Championship Pick-Up Player Form required (if applicable) Practice Field Availability Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Practice fields at Wallace Marine Park and satellite fields are available. Recreational Vehicle Parking Sorry, no overnight RV parking, day use only. Please contact the Salem Convention and Visitors Association at 503-581-4325 or at www.travelsalem.com for area RV Parks. Prohibited Items The following items are prohibited at the Wallace Marine Park Softball Complex: Outside Food or Beverages Coolers, Ice Chests/Boxes, Cans, Glass Bottles, and/or Fireworks. (One team cooler containing water and sports drinks is allowed.) Animals and Pets. Exception: Certified Service Animals. Bicycling, Skateboarding, Rollerblading, Large Riding Toys and/or Distracting or Noise-making Toys. Smoking is prohibited at the Wallace Marine Softball Complex, North Salem High School, West Salem High School, South Salem High School, and Willamette University during the ASA National Championship Tournaments. Please utilize designated smoking areas.
