Introducing...
With this inaugural issue, the Rotary
Club of the Bronx proudly introduces
it’s updated newsletter format.
Among the exciting changes to the
newsletter is the addition of full color
to the production. This will mean that
not only will we be able to print all our
photographs in glorious color, but our
advertisers can now take advantage of
this improvement as well.
Another big change is that issues will
now come out bi-weekly in an eight and
one half by eleven inch, four page format. We hope to expand our coverage
of the guest speaker’s comments and to
include other meaningful clippings from
other Rotary publications on occasion.
I hope you enjoy this new format and
our production team will gladly entertain your suggestions for improvement
in its content and design.

By Special Appeal!!

Welcome to Tuesday’s Meeting
Guest Speaker Ret. Lt. Col. E. Barbara Wiggins
Cheryl Simmons-Oliver introduced Ms.
E. Barbara Wiggins, who is the Director of Diversity Programs and Employees
Relations at Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI).
Ms. Wiggins began her professional
training & development as a member of
U.S. Military, serving at posts inside and
outside of the continental U.S. During
the last 10 years, Ms. Wiggins has concentrated her work efforts on “recognizing,
valuing and managing workforce diversity
as a business objective.” She assists HRI’s
clients in strategic planning, management
skills building and employment practices,
which encourage and support individual
and group productivity and respectful,
inclusive work environments. She has used
her professional expertise and leadership
abilities to assist local and national nonprofit organizations. A dynamic speaker,
so...”If you missed it on this snowy day,
you missed it!”

little girl was talking to her
teacher about whales. The
teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human
because even though it was a very large
mammal, its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was
swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the
teacher reiterated that a whale could
not swallow
a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, “When I get to
heaven I will ask Jonah,”
The teacher asked, “What if Jonah
isn’t in heaven?”
The little girl replied, “Then you ask
him.”
