A detoxified and drained cell will be able to perform its metabolic function. The emunctory organs, activated by specific drainage remedies, will strengthen their physiological excretory and toxin-release function. © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. • CELL METABOLIC SUPPORT: the action of a relation molecule on the membrane receptors or on the receptors of any other homeopathic remedy acting on the cell would not be responsive if the cell were not in such an “energetic” condition to be reactive. The cell metabolic stimulation is therefore a necessary step in view of a therapeutic success. Vitamins, minerals, oligonutrients and above all homeopathic microdoses of Krebs cycle salts and quinones activate the mitochondrion as if they were real energy reservoirs and restore the highest ATP synthesis capacity. © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. • P.N.E.I. REBALANCE: reprogramming the neuroimmune-endocrine axis in both directions, namely psychosomatic and somatopsychic, is the core of Physiological Regulating Therapy. According to a sophisticated biological mechanism Homeopathic micro doses of cytokines, hormones and neurotransmitters – as much concentrated as in a physiological milieu - and selected homeopathic remedies (of plantvegetal, mineral or animal origin) – once introduced into the human body are capable of reducing, modulating and stimulating the reactivity of the 3 Great Systems (Nervous, Immune and Endocrine) and guidingleading it back within its physiological range without suppressing or inhibiting a biological response. © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. •CELL NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT: nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids) can have an essential role in maintaining or restoring health: the most advanced research studies in the nutrition field have defined the typology, the metabolic routes and above all the adequate amounts of each nutrient stating that small and balanced amounts of aminoacids, vitamins and, oligonutrients are sufficient and necessary for a correct “bios” functioning. Guna’s remedies contain small (oligos) and appropriate (orto) amounts of nutrients. This is extremely important as they protect biological structures from free radicals, which are particularly harmful in chronic and degenerative diseases as well as in the ageing process. © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. • CONTROL OF SYMPTOMS: as in a perfect team play, interleukins, neurotransmitters, homeopathic hormones and as well as classic homeopathy remedies act on inflammatory diseases, thus leading to recovery. Among these substances, the specific remedies for every evolutionary phase of the inflammatory process can be identified and their action is simply extraordinary: calor, dolor, rubor, tumor, all of them being modulated thus leading to a natural recovery. It’s a new therapeutic concept coming from homeopathic tradition and as a result of research studies in the field of molecular Biology: homeopathic micro doses of the molecules conveying immune response are capable of reactivating an adequate biological immune response (as much concentrated as in a physiological milieu). The phlogosis process is therefore being modulated - thus evolving and leading to a full recovery and considerable reduction of prognosis time. © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. INTERLEUKIN 1 Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a cytokine secreted by different type of cells of the Immune System (macrophages, monocytes, dendritic cells, fibroblasts and endothelial cells) IL-1 = first discovered IL-1 has various effects on the organism both at general and local level One of these effects is to support inflammatory processes; moreover it stimulates prostaglandins production from different type of cells (muscular, epithelial, etc.), the production of other cytokines (among which IL-2) and the activation and recruitment of other cells of the Immune System: -IL-1α -IL-1 β Those two classes have similar activities but different structures © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. INTERLEUKIN 1 IL 1 IS A PIVOTAL PRO‐INFLAMMATORY CYTOKINE CENTRALLY INVOLVED IN IMMUNE SYSTEM SYSTEMIC AND LOCAL RESPONSES LEADING TO TYPICAL EFFECTS OF INFLAMMATION DYSREGULATED, PROLONGED SYNTHESIS AND RELEASE OF IL 1 IN CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY SITUATIONS CONTRIBUTE TO A NUMBER OF DISEASES, e.g. RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IL 1 ACTIVATES MONOCYTES/ MACROPHAGES INDUCES FIBROBLASTS PROLIFERATION INFLAMMATION SYNOVIAL PANNUS FORMATION ACTIVATES CHONDROCYTES ACTIVATES OSTEOBLASTS CARTILAGE BREAKDOWNS BONE RESORPTION © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. Why use Anti Interleukins (1) Alpha and Beta in the pain management formulas? Interleukins 1 (IL1α; IL1ß) are the most active primary mediators from a biological point of view, secreted by Th1 cells to induce inflammation (Phase A) by means of their own capacity to stimulate the genic expression associated with the whole inflammatory process evolution ‐ Even though structurally different (codified by 2 different genes), they act on the same specific receptor. IL1 have a very short half‐life and are secreted by IL1 themselves when in contact with CD4 lymphocytes IL1 (α; ß) activate cyclooxygenase type 2 (COX2) (A), prostaglandin E2 (B) and nitric oxide (C), so activating the inflammatory process (pro‐inflammatory Interleukins) ►As a consequence, Anti Interleukins 1 (α; ß) act as NSAIDs (A), cortisone (B) and, in part, as salicylates (C), without the negative side effects caused by these allopathic medicines. Consequently, homeopathically diluted Anti IL1 α and ß are successfully used in osteo‐arthro‐myalgic pain management therapy (according to Physiological Regulating Medicine – Guna Method) © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. What is the scientific reason for using Anti Interleukins and not Interleukins having anti‐inflammatory properties? Anti‐inflammatory Interleukins (mainly IL10) are secreted by Th2 cells after the activation of Th1 cells (Phase B of Hoff’s Commutative Reaction) and, as a consequence, they act after Interleukins 1 α and ß secretion The block of Interleukins 1 α and ß (anti) is therefore more effective than the stimulation of IL10 IL10 has more anti‐inflammatory action above all in chronic forms than in acute forms © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. INFLAMMATION PHASE B = RESOLUTION PHASE A = DEVELOPMENT YES NO RECOVERY CHRONICIZATION © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. & inflammation development (mesenchyme hydrolysis, tissue acidosis, sympathetic tone, pro‐ inflammatory cytokines release: IL1α, IL1β, TNFα, IL12, IL15, IL18, INFα, INF β) inflammation reduction (mesenchyme synthesis, tissue alkalosis, sympathetic tone, anti‐ inflammatory cytokines release: IL10, TGF β 1, etc.) Phase A can last some hours‐days (acute inflammation: inflammation; sub acute inflammation; inflammation plus; chronic inflammation) The duration of Phase A depends upon: 1) damage level 2) patient’s immunoregulation 3) quality and quantity of the therapy © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. ENDORPHIN Endorphins are organic chemical substances produced by the CNS, having antipain and physiological characteristics similar to those of morphine and opium – however they have a wider range Endorphins, like a number of morphinic origin alkaloids, can cause states of euphoria and somnolence according to the quantity released © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. MADE® On MADE®’s structure the pathogenetic process of wrinkles is inscribed Phase 1: a reduced supply of O2 and nutrients to the dermis cells caused by the pollution of the matrix due to catabolites produced in cell turnovers (chronoaging) and by undrained toxins (free radical photoaging), causes a slowdown of intracellular metabolisms and subsequent enzymatic damage; Phase 2: the metabolic distress of the fibroblast affects its activity leading to a drastic reduction in the incretion of the matrix components (in particular Hyaluronic acid) and the collagen and elastic fibres. Phase 3: the connective tissue weave loses compactness. The lack of glycosaminoglycans has a dramatic effect on skin hydration (Hyaluronic acid is a highly hydrophilic molecule) and its turgidity; the reduced vascularisation of the epidermis causes the skin to lose its brightness and normal lymphatic drainage is slowed down, resulting in a vicious cycle that is difficult to break. 131 © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. MADE® • For more than five years the homeopathic remedy MADE® (manufactured by Guna, Milan – ITALY) has been an extremely effective alternative to conventional pharmacological treatment. • The connective tissue is not the main target area in the treatment of wrinkles and skin slackening; in fact, it is essential to keep the dermis well-drained and metabolically efficient in order to keep the skin looking young. • MADE® is therefore a true therapeutic unit whose structure provides the correct homotoxicological strategy for treating degenerative skin diseases. 134 © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a. ® MADE • A wrinkle treatment should be an integrated therapy where fibroblasts can begin their synthesizing activity (after specific organ preparation stimulation) as their proper metabolic function has returned as a result of the action of the coenzyme substrates of the Krebs cycle and they, therefore, have sufficient “energy” levels to maintain their neosynthesis activity. • At the same time, the integrity of the functional structure of the dermis should be maintained by means of continuous detoxification and drainage. 135 © Dipartimento Scientifico Guna S.p.a.
