Welcome to the Kings Point eatre! We are proud to announce this summer’s incredible shows, which include comedy, singing and more. We invite all of you to our 2013 summer shows at the Kings Point eatre! APRIL SHOWS Karen Rontowski – 4/5/2013 – 8:00pm $10.00 resident / $13.00 osc Comedian Karen Rontowski’s upbeat, optimistic and clean sense of humor has earned her headlining spots all over the world. Karen describes herself as having an optimistic outlook, everything is coming up roses when you talk to her. So what if her therapist says she is in complete denial. The truth is, when it comes to her standup comedy career, everything is coming up roses, or at least laughter. She has opened for such show biz legends as Bob Hope, Ray Charles, and the Monkees. David Brenner says, “Even if you can’t spell Karen Rontowski, you’d better remember it, because she is “GREAT!!!” Jimmy Maz – 4/12/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Singer Jimmy Maz has a rich, elegant voice. His selection of music is the key, combined with his ability to sound like the original artist in many ways. You will enjoy hits from artists such as Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, and more. He might even throw in a little Motown and Disco. Add to this some trivia, humor, and great charisma, and you will have a truly memorable show. Pedro and Yezi – 4/19/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Pedro Roman is a talented and famous entertainer and singer with a well established reputation as an actor, playwright, composer, and theater director. Pedro’s musical comedies, as well as many dramas for theatre, television, and movies, have won him many awards as an international star. Many compare Yezi to the young Celia Cruz, the famous Cuban international star. Her voice is powerful and unbelievably rich. She moves and dances with grace and sensuality. Yezi is unique. John Tarangelo – 4/26/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc John Tarangelo, the man of many voices, also known as Johnny T, has made a name for himself throughout the country as a tribute singer performing songs of notables such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bobby Darin. He also performs songs of legendary artists from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and Motown. Don’t miss this fabulous entertainer performing for the first time at Kings Point. MAY SHOWS Cherrill Rae – 5/3/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Cherrill Rae is an internationally known songstress with a dynamic personality. She is a singer who has developed a unique, soulful style during her twenty-five year career. Cherrill’s captivating stage presence won her the ACTRA award for best variety performance on TV. She is truly an entertainer who enchants every audience. Do not miss her! MAY SHOWS Mark Agoado & Sammy Weber– 5/10/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc With a spectacular voice ranging from soft, romantic love songs, to his Disc Jockey Archives of music from 1920, to the foot-stompin’ dance hits of today, Mark Agoado appeals to all ages. From Far Rockaway, Coney Island, Brooklyn, this New Yorker is top-shelf in entertainment. He has made his mark in the South Florida area since 2006. Mark comes highly recommended by Florida’s finest audiences. Meet Sammy Weber, otherwise known as “The Virtuoso.” Experience the versatility of one of the great violinists and entertainers of today. Sammy’s musical talents take him well beyond the classical music that he originally studied at the Julliard School of Music, into areas of Jazz, Pop, Country, Latin, and various styles of Ethnic Music. Josie O’Donnell – 5/17/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Back by popular demand, Josie O’Donnell is a singer who can belt out pop tunes with the best of them and then bring down the house with a ballad. A vivacious redhead who excels on all tempos will delight you with her repertoire. Born in Donegal, Ireland, she made her stage debut in London and has performed lead roles in My Fair Lady, and Finian’s Rainbow, and has performed with such talents as Frank Sinatra, Danny Kaye, and Rodney Dangerfield. Don’t miss this talented entertainer! Swingin’ On a Star! – 5/24/2013 – 8:00pm $9.00 resident / $12.00 osc An Evening of Great Music, Nostalgia and Fun will light up the stage with music by Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn, Harry Warren, Jule Styne, Henry Mancini, Michele LeGrand, Harry James, Louis Armstrong, and many more. Dynamic vocalists, Cheryl Cavendish and Bill Stafford, join forces with Trumpeter Extraordinaire John Branzer. Come join us for this wonderful evening of toe-tapping music…and you will leave the theater…..”Swingin’ On A Star!” SPECIAL EVENT MAY SHOWS Amy Alvarado and Nelson O – 5/31/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Amy Alvarado began her singing career at age 17, winning an honorable mention in the National Foundation of the Arts Scholarship competition. She has performed in Florida Grand Opera productions of Aida and The Pearl Fishers. She has also appeared in the role of Mamma in the 2007 East Coast Premiere of Tony Caruso’s last broadcasting in Washington, DC, as well as in the role of Juanita Cabana in the South Eastern Premiere of Birds without Wings in Miami. Nelson Polanco, founder of Blending Cultures, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the South Florida community, with a blend of international cultural traditions through live performances, hails from the Dominican Republic and is known for his eclectic blend of Latin pop, salsa, and international influences. JUNE SHOWS Michael G – 6/7/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Michael G. has been a professional singer, drummer, and entertainer for over 30 years. He has toured the world, performing in concert halls, clubs, and studios. He is an extremely versatile artist with a repertoire from the 1940’s to contemporary hits, singing many musical styles such as rock, standards, and show tunes. Michael has shared the stage with such names as The Temptations, Donna Summer, Chicago, and many more. For a unique and entertaining theatrical event with style and class, it’s the Michael G. Show! Ann Anello – 6/14/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Ann Anello is one of the most sought after, creative and respected singers, performers and songwriters working in the entertainment industry today. She has graced the stages at a number of regional theaters and concert halls across the nation, including the John Drew Theater in East Hampton. Ann has performed with Who’s Who of American Entertainment, which includes Johnny Carson, Frankie Valli, Pat Cooper, Phyllis Diller, and many others. She also co-starred with Jackie Mason in the film The Stoolie and wrote the theme song. You do not want to miss this evening of entertainment with Ann Anello. Roy Michaels – 6/21/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Roy Michaels is Brooklyn Bridge’s new lead vocalist! He is a seasoned professional with thirty plus years experience in the music industry. In 1977, Roy moved to Europe where he worked with many artists such as Shocking Blue (“I’m Your Venus”). He worked closely with Dreis Holten, a prolific hit maker, and recorded his single, “All Alone am I.” Roy’s repertoire consists of songs from Billy Holiday to Kid Rock and just about everything in between, whether it be old standard 40’s, The Fox Trot or the Texas Two Step. His versatility is sure to please audiences of all ages. His shows are not only entertaining, they are uplifting as well. Everyone will walk away with a small piece of Roy in their hearts. JUNE SHOWS Judy Lanier – 6/28/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Judy Lanier is a singer, impressionist, and comedian. She is winner of the Senior Idols Award and has appeared on Broadway, cruise ships, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City. With her one-woman show and her impressions of the “Women of the Fifties,” this is a must see show. Sit back and enjoy the talented Judy Lanier. Do not miss this one! SPECIAL EVENT JULY SHOWS Great Moments From Broadway & Operetta – 7/12/2013 – 8:00pm $9.00 resident / $12.00 osc The Gold Coast Singers bring their beautiful voices and dazzling costumes to this dynamic production featuring the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg, Rudolf Friml, Victor Herbert, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and many more….. Highlights of Rose Marie, The Vagabond King, Naughty Marietta, and The Chocolate Soldier, as well as Broadway hits both classic and contemporary from My Fair Lady to West Side Story to Phantom of the Opera. The talented cast features sopranos Cheryl Cavendish and Terri Oster, lyric tenor William Wynn and dynamic baritone William Stafford, with Musical Director Maestro Earren Broome at the piano and Doug Friend on percussion. Their music repertoire includes the best of Broadway, both past and present, popular love and dramatic songs. Whatever they sing, Lou & Lynn create an unusual spell of excitement and warmth that draws audiences to their feet. Their diversity of vocal styles is truly unique. They sing, they dance, and they make you laugh….you will love them! AUGUST SHOWS Rhythm Chicks – 8/2/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc These three talented, vivacious ladies do it all with fabulous vocal harmonies, exciting choreography, and glamorous costumes. They will entertain you with a variety of material that includes songs from the 30’s to the 90’s. Back by popular demand, these captivating ladies will delight you. Let’s welcome Donna Shelley, Yvette Carol, and Erica Rubio back to Kings Point. Liz Bieler – 8/16/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc The songs Liz Bieler chooses to sing are songs that will move you, trigger a memory, or awaken a dream. They may make you close your eyes or tap your feet, but either way her songs make you feel alive. She delivers these songs with warmth, a little bit of heat, and the jazz rhythms that always keep you guessing. Liz sings songs in English, Spanish, and Italian, bringing them to you with her own unique spin. Jamie Danger – 8/30/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Jamie Danger has the unique gift of entertaining people. Born in Brooklyn, Jamie literally began singing before she could talk. Her musical and theatrical background brought her to South Florida, where she embarked on a “One Woman Show.” Not only has Jamie made audiences feel comfortable with her natural ease of cabaret and conversation, her uncanny gift for comic impersonations is a sheer delight. A great vocalist with endless energy, she has a face you surely will not forget and a sense of humor that will capture your attention…She is a must see, explosive show! SPECIAL EVENT SEPTEMBER SHOWS Matt Stanley – 9/6/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc You can see it in his eyes…..Matt Stanley just loves to perform! Versatile and energetic are the words that best describe his performance style. He effortlessly blends many different styles…from Broadway to Sinatra….from Tom Jones to jazz. His powerful, yet dynamic voice, personality, and easy-mannered charm makes it a memorable evening. Don’t miss this one! John Timpanelli – 9/20/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc This popular, timeless, and tireless entertainer has a rich history and an even more exciting present persona. John Timpanelli is a romantic crooner, Broadway showstopper, classical performer, as well as a wonderful impersonator and hilarious comic. He is at his best portraying Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Emile in South Pacific, Albin in La Cage Aux Folles, or Jean Val Jean in Les Miserables and has audiences standing on their feet. Gold Coast Opera’s Bravo! – 9/27/2013 – 8:00pm $9.00 resident / $12.00 osc Cavendish presents two amazing young voices that will thrill you with their vocal pyrotechnics, bravura high notes, and polished musicality as they present arias and duets from La Boheme, Rigoletto, Romeo and Juliette, The Merry Widow and more…plus Susana Diaz is a winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and she has appeared in opera and concerts with the Cincinnati Opera, Florida Grand Opera, the Orlando Philharmonic, and the Miami Lyric Opera and in concerts throughout Mexico and South America. Lievens Castillo has sung in opera and concerts from New York to Florida, and was recently featured with the Symphony of the Americas at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. OCTOBER SHOWS Jay Cee Driesen – 10/4/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Jill Driesen Wasserman, female vocalist, songwriter, and producer from Long Island is known amongst followers simply as “JC.” She has entertained audiences nationally. JC began her career singing in popular houses on Long Island and in New York City. Her reputation and ability to carry a tune well beyond her years afforded her opportunities to open and perform with some of the greatest artists in the business. An evening shared with “JC” is one of pure elegance, fabulous style, and electrifying enjoyment. So if it is harmonious, dreamy rhythms, with exciting style which motivate you, be sure to catch this show. Richie C – 10/25/2013 – 8:00pm $8.00 resident / $11.00 osc Richie C is a proven performer, winning best male entertainer for the years 2004 and 2005 by the Breeze newspaper poll. Hailing from London, England, Richie has no musical boundaries, paying tribute to some of the greatest music of the last seven decades. Richie flawlessly performs Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, the best of Motown, Neil Diamond, and Elvis will definitely be “IN” the building for this show.
