For the seventh consecutive year, we expanded into the adjacent room to accommodate the overflow demand to be part of this marquee event, and the honorees, featuring Gen. Ray Odierno, the 38th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, continue to represent a long list of our country’s finest leaders who have taken our national stage. What follows is a photo collection of those honored and those who paid tribute to the honorees by attending the event that night, as well as photos from several other National Football Foundation-related events surrounding the 2013 football season. We hope that looking through the magazine will bring back happy memories for those who participated while inspiring others to attend in the future. The National Football League, led by Commissioner Roger Goodell, became the 59th recipient of the NFF Gold Medal on Dec. 10, 2013 in recognition of the NFL’s outstanding efforts to make the game safer and more exciting while promoting the positive values of the sport. Each NFF Scholar-Athlete receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. From the class of NFF National Scholar-Athletes, one member is chosen as the absolute best, receiving the William V. Campbell Trophy, endowed by HealthSouth and hosted at the NYAC. The winner of the Campbell Trophy has his scholarship increased to a total of $25,000. Penn State Academic All-American John Urschel claimed the 2013 William V. Campbell Trophy.
