Gallery One’s Permenant collection of Glass works by Gallery One’s Fine Artists. www.NAAAsite.com P.O. Box 70, Nashua, NH 03061 FEB / MARCH 2007 NEWSLETTER Feb / March 2007 P.O. Box 70, Nashua, New Hampshire 03061 NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Nashua Area Artists Association will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 7pm to 9pm at Gallery One. After the meeting there will be a painting demonstration by Debra Bretton Robinson. Please bring a light refreshment and/or a plate of goodies to share. Gallery One at the Mill House is located at 5 Pine Street Extension in Nashua, NH. The phone number of the Gallery is (603) 883-0603, and the website can be found at www. naaasite.com. Debra Bretton Robinson has been a Chelmsford, MA resident for the past five years. She grew up in Plaistow, NH. Debra attended the New England School of Art and Design in Boston, majoring in fine art and fashion illustration. Later, she transferred to the Massachusetts College of Art where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Art Education. Debra taught elementary school students in Maryland and Boston. She and her family moved to Chelmsford in 2000 and she continues to participate in the vibrant Lowell art scene. She now paints full time. Ideas for Debra's collages on wood originate from places she encounters everyday in her life. She enjoys finding compositions for her cityscapes around Lowell, Boston and Nashua. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by artwork created during the Fauvist movement of the early 20th Century. The talents of several artists she continues to draw upon are: William Henry Johnson, Alice Neel, Edward Hopper and of course, Henri Matissse. Jazz and Blues music continue to be a force in her work. Debra works out of her studio in Chelmsford, MA and can be contacted directly or through her email address. More of her work can be seen currently at the Bernard Toale Gallery in Boston and also the ALL Gallery in Lowell. Debra also has her work in several online galleries including the Saatchi Gallery in London. This event is ideal for mothers…. and everyone who has one. • There will also be a crafts/projects table set up, where children can make handmade Mother’s Day cards. • Our first-ever open juried prize show, tentatively scheduled for this summer. Dates and juror to be announced later. • An art auction to be held in the fall. Please keep in mind that many of these events will happen only if we get enough volunteers to help out. We are also searching for someone to head up the Greeley Park show – without an organizer, it will be extremely difficult for us to commit to holding this annual event. If you are interested in heading up the Greeley Park committee (or volunteering for any of the other activities listed above), please contact Colleen at the gallery. I’ve also been asked more than once: “How do I find out about what’s happening at the Association?” There are several ways: • read the NAAA newsletter. (Back issues are archived at www.naasite.com) • visit the NAAA web site (www.naaasite.com) • attend a monthly meeting (Second Wednesday of the month at 7pm) • attend a monthly Board of Directors meeting (held just before the general meeting at 6PM, these meetings are open to all who wish to attend) • attend an Association event or ArtWalk • contact any of the Board Members Finally, you’ll note that this newsletter is marked “February/March”. Starting with this issue, we are changing our publication frequency to bimonthly. This is in alignment with what other area arts organizations are doing and is a more manageable schedule for our all-volunteer staff. Until next issue, Lynne Guimond Findlay, President FEATURED ARTIST Letter From The President painting has been vibrationally activated and charged with Usui, Ascension, & Lightarian Reiki and Shambhala through laying on of hands. Created in sacred space and energized by the breath, the paintings have all been toned and tuned with Crystal Singing Bowls, assigned a resonant number and are embedded with a variety of rough or tumbled crystals and minerals to hold the vibrational intention. There are several series including the Archangels, the Ascended Mothers and the Ascended Masters. Paintings may be purchased individually, as a set, or commissioned. Note that commissioned paintings will be channeled in the moment and may differ greatly from the other paintings as no painting will ever be repeated exactly as pictured. —Paintings may be viewed and purchased online at AWGalleryDirect.com—Art for the Awakened Heart or through the Amethyst Wyldfyre Gallery located in Nashua, NH at 47 East Pearl Street. Cont... arenas. She is the proprietress of Amethyst Wyldfyre Gallery in Nashua, NH which has featured the visionary artworks of over 35 local and regional artists.
