Introduction
This is the first edition of the Rink-Hockey Yearbook, being an attempt to present the most
relevant results and features of this sport worldwide, during the year.
All the data have been obtained in internet and are compiled also in databases available at
website rinkhockey.net, for results of games, standings of competitions and participating
players, goals marked and coaches and referees.
Being a non-official publication, it may contain errors and omissions, for which we will be
very happy to receive contributions at info@rinkhockey.net

The world competitions played this year were:
- Women World Championship
- Men World Championship B
- Intercontinental Cup

World Women Championship
Disputed in Tourcoing, France, from the 26th October till 1st November.
Champion was Argentina, after defeating France in the final game by 3-0.
The tournament was disputed by 14 countries, divided in 4 groups, 2 with 4 teams, the
other 2 with 3 teams. The 1st phase tables were:

Disputed in Canelones, Uruguay, from 15th till 22nd November, with the attending of 7
countries. Austria won the Championship, followed by England and Netherlands, these 3
countries getting the right to participate in next year World Championship, in La Roche sur
Yon. Austria won 1-0 against England in the Final game, while Netherlands defeated USA
by 11-3 in the 3rd/4th places game.

This competition opposes the winner of European Club League and the winner of the South
American Club Championship.
This year, FC Barcelona met Petroleros YPF, from Mendoza, Argentina, in a game disputed
in Palau Blaugrana, Barcelona, on the 10th October. FC Barcelona got the title after beating
YPF by 6-2.
