Thursday, August 15
Winsor French’s reports of Cleveland's urban nightlife
appeared in Parade Magazine, Cleveland News and the
Cleveland Press. French occupied news desks in rooms
drenched with masculinity, enduring his colleagues’
homophobia and risking the loss of his job by defending
unconventional behavior.
Join James M. Wood, an award-winning journalist and
author of Out and About with Winsor French for an inside
look at this gay newspaper columnist who dominated a
city’s nightlife from the 1930's to the 1960's.

Monday, August 19
We’ll start our morning adventure at this Vienna Park
featuring more than 300 animals from around the world
while riding on a safari truck. Next, it’s off to the Saratoga
Restaurant, a Trumbull County favorite. Afterwards, we’ll
explore the National Packard Museum in Warren and then
we’re off to tour the Upton House built by General Simon

– a wonderful Italian specialty market you will not forget.
The defining characteristic of any fashion period is a
silhouette influenced by economic, political, social and sexual
issues – all of which contribute to the way fashion expresses
the spirit of the times. The garments in the exhibition, worn
out of sight or in private, demonstrate changing manners
and mores while the full dressed mannequins are included to
show the fashionable silhouette. Dine (on your own) at the
Pufferbelly Ltd. located in the heart of Kent.

TRIP: once

Sunday, September 29
Sunday, November 17
Enjoy a romantically nostalgic salute to autumn as
The Mighty Wurlitzer Hour celebrates its 21st year with
Emmy nominee Larry Kass at the 1928 Mighty Wurlitzer
Theater Pipe Organ and their 8 voice Theater of the Air
Chorus composed of professional singers. After the show
there will be soda fountain confections, pastries and an
opportunity to meet and greet the singers. It will be a
delightful musical and culinary treat!
Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical,
Once tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician
who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful
young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting songs.
Emotionally captivating and theatrically breathtaking, it’s an
unforgettable story about going for your dreams…not living
in fear… and how the power of music connects all of us.
