QUICK FACTS Was inspired by YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. FELDA Sentuhan Kasih is a new initiative to generate economic growth in rural areas and provide job opportunities in line with turning FELDA settlement into Economic Power House. An attempt to alleviate poverty by generating rural income of RM 1,500.00 (USD 374) per month for new generation. A pioneer project is in operation at FELDA Tenggaroh 3, Mersing, Johor and three projects are in progress. Agriculture is the main economic activity. Innovation is the key to a successful project. Felda’s Experience In Sierra Leone Felda’s role is to provide technical expertise in oil palm production, processing and marketing since Jan 2006 till 2008. The plantation development project was based on Felda’s Model.
