SETTINGS
GB
Rotor Speed
Requirement:
The speed of the rotors may be pre-selected depending on
the tractor power and ambient conditions. This is carried
out either by way of the pre-selected PTO drive shaft
speed of the tractor or by the position of the gearwheels
in the rotary harrow’s transmission.
PTO drive shaft speed:
The recommended speed of the tractor’s PTO drive shaft
is 1000 rpm. The lowest torque occurs at this speed and
this protects the drive components.
The speed of the tractor’s PTO drive shaft may be reduced
to 750 rpm or 540 rpm on soft ground or with a low
working depth.
Attention!
Reposition gearwheels in rotary harrow’s
transmission:
Take precautions
against the
possibility of oil
escaping before
opening the gearbox cover, e.g.
place an oil pan
underneath.
- Raise the rotary harrow and tilt as far forwards as
possible with the upper link to minimise oil leakage.
Attention!
Risk of crushing! Secure the tractor against
accidental rolling before carrying out any
maintenance or repair work on the rotary
harrow in the attached condition and
secure the rotary harrow against accidental
lowering by using support elements (1)!
1
Attention!
Pay attention to
cleanliness when
working on the
open gearbox so
that no dirt gets
into the gears!
- Unscrew gearbox cover (2).
- Attach gearwheels according to table above.
- Screw on gearbox cover (2) and check for leaktightness.
2
- Check gearbox oil level and top up if necessary. (see
section on “Maintenance” for details)

SETTINGS
GB
Working Depth
The working depth of the rotary is determined by the pivot
arc of the attached roller. The pivot arc is limited upwards
by the marking position of the bolts in the frame’s hole on
the right and left-hand sides.
Note:
It is recommended
that the adjusting
unit be cleaned in
advance to make
adjustment work
easier.
Adjustment:
- Raise rotary harrow
The roller lowers as a result and pressure is relieved
on the bolts.
1
Attention!
Secure the tractor against accidental
rolling and secure the rotary harrow against
lowering accidentally (1)!
- Remove pin (2) and insert as required.
Lowest position (A) = lowest possible working depth
Uppermost position (B) = highest possible working
depth
The working depth is increased/decreased by 2.5 cm
by each hole position.
2
- The pins (2) on the right side have to be inserted in the
same position as the pins on the left side.
- Secure pins (2).

Scraper Plates of Rollers
The scraper plates clean the rollers of dirt.
Note:
It is recommended
that the adjusting
unit be cleaned in
advance to make
adjustment work
easier.
Adjustment:
- Raise rotary harrow
The roller is clear and it is possible to test that it runs
freely.
Attention!
Secure the tractor against accidental
rolling and secure the rotary harrow against
lowering accidentally (1)!
1
- Loosen screws (2) on both sides
- Use screw (3) to adjust the wear on the scraper plate.
- Retighten screws (2)!
3
2
Note:
Only adjust the scraper plates to the extent
that a scraper plate does not prevent the
roller from running freely. The scraper
plates may be adjusted individually as
required (4)
4
In the case of the cutting packer roller, the wear is adjusted
with a lever (5) rather than with the screw.

Side Shields
The side shields screen access to the outer processing
tines in the working position and support preparation of
the seed bed in that the soil processed cannot escape
to the side.
Attention!
Among other things
the side shields
are also used as a
protective device.
The drive may
only be switched
on if the side
shields have been
pivoted into the
working position.
Variant 1:
Adjustment of transport position:
The side shields may be pivoted into the transport
position to reduce the rotary harrow’s transport width to
less than 3 m.
- Release the side shield using bolt (1)
- Lift the side shield completely and secure in the transport
position using bolt (1)
1
Variant 2:
Shield guidance by means of parallelogram:
The shield guidance is additionally equipped with a
parallelogram if the rotary harrow is fitted with a row marker
or if it is combined with a seed drill attachment.
Adjustment of shield position in working
position:
The shield position should be adjusted such that the
shield slides through the soil approx. 1 - 2 cm deep
when in use.
The shield position may be adjusted according to the
ambient conditions (e.g. crop residues).
- Open screws (2)
- Adjust desired position
- Tighten screws (2)

Levelling Bars
The rotary harrow is equipped as standard with a rear
bar and on request with a front bar. The levelling bars are
height adjustable.
Attention!
1
Danger of being
pulled in! Only
carry out adjustment work on the
levelling bars with
the drive switched
off!
Adjustment of rear bar:
- Take the eccentric lever (aid for easier adjustment) out
of parking position (1)
- Insert eccentric lever (2) into the first free hole in the
arm of the levelling bar and pivot until bolt (3) is relieved
of pressure and can be removed.
- Pivot eccentric lever further until the levelling bar can
be positioned in the next holed using bolt (3).
- Repeat the process until the desired position of the
levelling bar is achieved.
3
2
- Place the eccentric lever in the parking position (1).
Adjustment of front rail:
4
- same as for the rear bar although insertion is carried
out on the arm of levelling bar (4)

USE
GB
Use
Attention!
Attention!
All people must be directed out of the
hazard area and all protective devices must
be completely attached before the rotary
harrow’s drive is switched on!
Despite the protective covers, there
is a possibility
that objects will
be thrown out by
the rotary harrow.
People must be
directed out of
the hazard area!
Starting work:
On the field, lower the rotary harrow to just above the
soil and only then bring the PTO drive shaft up to the
intended speed.
Approach with the tractor and lower the rotary harrow
completely whilst doing so.
Turning:
Only raise the rotary harrow as far as necessary for the
turning procedure. If the PTO drive shaft is only angled
slightly in the process, it may continue to run.
The PTO drive shaft must be switched off if the machine
runs noisily in the raised condition.
Blockages:
The PTO drive shaft is equipped with an overload clutch to
intercept any blockages on stony ground or other obstacles
without damaging the rotary harrow.
Removing blockages:
- stop the tractor
- Raise the rotary harrow and reduce the speed of the
PTO drive shaft at the same time.
If the rotors are free from blockages, the cam-type
cut-out clutch of the PTO drive shaft engages again
audibly due to the reduced speed and work may be
continued.
The rotors must be freed of the blockage or obstacle if
they do not start to rotate.
Attention!
Secure the tractor against accidental
rolling and secure the rotary harrow against
lowering accidentally (1)!
Switch off the rotary harrow’s drive!

ROW MARKER
Row marker
Function:
The disk row markers are activated hydraulically with a
single-action control unit.
1
2
Both row markers are raised if the control unit is switched
to “Raise”.
The left and right-hand row marker alternately is brought
into the working position if the control unit is switched to
“lower” (floating position).
Adjustment:
Set row marker at centre of tractor (M) or tractor tyres (M1):
- To determine M / M1, the following formula has to be
applied:
M = (A + R ) / 2
Example: (300 + 12)/2 = 156 cm
M1 = M - S/2 = (A+R)/2 - S/2
A… Working width in cm
R… Row distance in cm
M… Dimension from tractor center in cm
M1… Dimension from inner tyre in cm
S… Tractor's track in cm
- Pivot the row marker into the working position and
adjust the determined dimension (A) at adjustment
point (2) according to the adjacent diagram.
Adjust row marker grip:
- the disk axle may be rotated at the adjustment point
(1). The desired grip can be adjusted according to the
soil conditions.
Collision lock:
The row markers are fitted with a shearable screw (As).
If the row marker encounters a solid obstacle, this screw
shears off and the row marker goes round the obstacle.
It is advisable to carry a shearable screw on the tractor.
Note!
As
Use only original Pöttinger parts! Screws
with a different tensile strength may cause
damage to the machine!
Transport setting:
The row markers are fitted with a transport lock. They
must be set in the transport position at fixing point (3)
and secured.
3
Attention!
The row markers must be secured for
road transport using the transport lock to
prevent them from pivoting accidentally
during the journey!

DRIVESHAFT
Supplement - B
Matching driveshaft to tractor
Rules for working
To determine the actual length required, hold the two
halves of the driveshaft side by side.
Never exceed the maximum p. t. o. speed when using
the implement.
- When the p.t.o. is switched off, the implement hitched
up may not stop at once.
Do not go close to the implement until all motion has
stopped; only then may work be done on it.
- When the implement ist parked, either remove the
driveshaft and store it, or secure it with a chain. Do
not use retaining chain (H) for this.
Procedure for cutting to length
- To determine length required, set implement in closest
working position (L2) to tractor, hold driveshaft halves
side by side and mark off.
Wide-angle joint:
Maximum angle of deflection when working/stationary:
70°
Standard joint :
Maximum angle of deflection when stationary: 90°
Maximum angle of deflection when working: 35°
Important!
• Note the maximum operating length (L1)
- Try to attain the greatest possible shaft overlap (min. 1/2 X)!
• Shorten inside and outside tube guard by the same
amount.
• Fit torque limiter (2) of drive shaft to implement end of
driveshaft!
Maintenance
Replace worn-out covers/guards at
once.
• Always check that drive shaft locks are securely
engaged before starting work.
Retaining chain
- Use chain to prevent tube guard from rotating.
Take care that chain does not impede driveshaft
pivoting.
- Lubricate with a brand-name grease before starting
work and every 8 hours worked.
- Before any extended period of non-use, clean and
lubricate driveshaft.
For winter working, grease the tube guards, to avoid
them freezing together.

How a cam type cut out safety clutch works
This overload clutch switches the torque transmitted to
zero if overloaded. To revert to normal operation, stop the
p.t.o. drive briefly.
The clutch reengages at a speed below 200 rpm.
IMPORTANT!
Re-engaging is also possible by decreasing the
p.t.o. r.p.m.
TAKE NOTE!
The overload clutch on the driveshaft is not a “Full up”
indicator. It is purely a torque limiter designed to protect
the implement against damage.
Driving the right way will avoid triggering the clutch too
often, and thus causing unnecessary wear on it and the
implement.
Lubricating interval: 500 hrs (Special lubricant)
Important for driveshafts with friction clutch
Torque is limited with overloading and brief torque peaks
and evenly transferred during slipping.
K90,K90/4,K94/1
Prior to initial operation and after long periods out of use,
check friction clutch for proprer function.
L
a.) Measure dimension „L“ at compression spring of
K90, K90/4 and K94/1 or at set screw of K92Eand
K92/4E.
b.) Loosen screws to release the pressure on the
friction disk.
Slip the clutch.
c.) Tighten set screws to dimension „L“.
Clutch is ready for use.

Before garaging (winter season) an oil change and greasing of all lubricating points has to be done. Unprotected, blanc metal parts outside (joints, etc.) have to be protected against corrosion with a group "Iv" product as indicated on
the reverse of this page.
-
Gear oils according to operating instructions - however at least once a year.
The applicable lubricants are symbolized (eg. “III”). According to this lubricant product code number the specification, quality and brandname of oil companies may easily be determined. The listing of the oil companies is not said to
be complete.
The performance and the lifetime of the farm machines are highly depending on a careful maintenance and application of correct lubricants. our schedule enables an easy selection of selected products.

Combination of tractor and mounted implement
The mounting of implements on the front or rear three point linkage shall not result in exceeding the maximum permissible weight,
the permissible axle loads and the tyre load carrying capacities ot the tractor. The front axle of the tractor must always to be loaded
with at least 20 % of the unladen weight of the tractor.
Make sure before buying an implement that these conditions are fulfilled by carrying out the following calculations or by weighing the
tractor/implement combination.
Determination of the total weight, the axle loads, the tyre load carrying capacity and the necessary
minimum ballasting
For the calculation you need the following data:
TL [kg]
unladen weight of tractor
1
TV [kg]
front axle load of unladen tractor
1
TH [kg]
rear axle load of unladen tractor

3. CALCULATION OF THE REAL FRONT AXLE LOAD TV tat
(If with the front mounted implement (GV) the required minimum front ballasting (GV min) cannot be reached, the weight of the front mounted
implement has to be increased to the weight of the minimum ballasting at the front!)
Record the calculated real front axle load and the permissible front axle load of the tractor into the table.
4. CALCULATION OF THE REAL TOTAL WEIGHT Gtat
(If with the rear mounted implement (GH) the required minimum rear ballasting (GH min) cannot be reached, the weight of the rear mounted
implements has to be increased to at least the weight of the minimum ballasting at the rear!)
Record the calculated real and the permissible total weight given in the instruction handbook for the tractor into the table.
5. CALCULATION OF THE REAL REAR AXLE LOAD TH tat
Record the calculated real and the permissible rear axle load given in the instruction handbook for the tractor into the table.
6. TYRE LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY
Record double the value (two tyres) of the permissible load carrying capacity into the table (see for instance documentation provided by the
tyre manufacturer).
