Axminster Diamond D1 & D2 Workbenches
Suitable for the home based wood worker these high quality
European made benches are a great addition to any workshop.
The solid beech laminated working surface with twin vices is
mounted on a beech frame to ensure you have a very stable
bench to work on.
The European beech bench top has an overall size of 1,350 x
605mm and is 25mm thick with an 85mm deep apron.
These benches are certified by the WOODMARK with FSC
certificate. Woodmark is the Soil Association’s certification
scheme for Forest Management and Chain of Custody for
forest products.
The bench is available with a choice of work vices.
Diamond D1 work bench
Please note these vices can be mounted in a choice of positions
to suit.
Fitted with two different vices:
Diamond D2 work bench
Fitted with twin 360mm wooden vices with a central screw and
twin guide rails each, opening to 150mm with twin 19mm dog
holes.
Each bench is fitted with twin vices, the wooded vices each have
2 dog holes as well as the top having a pattern of 32 dog holeso
that you have a wide range of work holding, 4 x 20mm dogs are
supplied. Hold down clamps and addition bench accessories with
20mm fittings can also be used (not supplied)
360mm (14 1/4”)wooden vice with a central screw and twin guide
rails each, opening to 150mm, twin 19mm vice dog holes.
180mm (7”) Quick release traditional carpenter’s vices complete
with automatic quick release and front dog. This high quality
vice has a maximum capacity of 175mm opens to a maximum
of 210mm. We would recommend lining the jaw faces with
hardwood to refine the bite.
These benches are certified by the WOODMARK with FSC

The back of the workbench has a 100mm well that runs the full
length of the workbench that is very useful for storing tools whilst
you are working.
The frame has solid beech legs of 80 x 30mm with the rails

is required.

Axminster
Premium AS Workbench
A traditionally designed beech wood bench equipped with a
heavy duty top, tool well at rear and one wooden vice with central
screw and twin support bars plus a traditional L shaped tail vice.
Built to a very high standard from European beech, the frame
members are 40mm by 80mm, the top is a very substantial 50mm
thick with 110mm deep edgings and there is a total of 13, 20mm
dog holes for clamping longer lengths of timber with the tail vice.
The overall width of the working surface is 615mm, including
a tool well of 150mm. The end tail vice is 220mm wide and the
front vice 520mm, giving plenty of holding width for large pieces
of timber. Tool storage is catered for by an underslung drawer,
400mm long. Four 20mm steel bench dogs are provided, two
short and two long. The bench is supplied flat packed, so home
assembly will be required. Two styles of storages are available as
options, one a traditional drawer and cupboard set, the other a
drop down tool storage system.

Workbench
This is a traditionally designed beech wood bench intended for
use in the larger workshop. The heavy duty 1,910 x 615mm top
(including full length tool well) is 50mm thick and fitted with
a 125mm deep apron. The front vice is 520mm long, opening
to 210mm and equipped with a robust central screw and twin
support bars. The tail vice is of the traditional ‘L’ shaped pattern,
380mm long opening to 220mm maximum and operated by a
metal screw and slide support. There are two dog holes in the
tail vice and a further 11 in the bench top. The legs are a sizable
80 x 60mm which underlines the strength of this bench. The
underslung tool storage drawer is 400mm long. The bench is
supplied flat packed, so home assembly will be required

Axminster Pro 2 Cupboard
The Pro 3 front opening cupboard has a hinged inner housing designed to hold various hand tools
in place. It is supplied with a selection of holders for you to place as you wish, so you can design the
layout yourself. Made from 12mm birch ply with a solid beech frame, it is a substantial cupboard and
complements both Premium benches very well.
The Pro 2 Cupboard is intended to fit the Premium benches and gives four drawers and a twin door
cupboard. Made from faced chipboard with good quality drawer runners and large beechwood
handles. The drawers each have an internal size of 340 x 370 x 80mm deep, whilst the lockable
cupboard opens out to 370 width x 520 height x 370mm depth.

Axminster 1,800mm
Two Sided Workbench
This workbench provides enough space for two people to work
together at the same time. Made from slow grown European beech
and birch, it is extremely robust. Its construction uses 2x 40mm thick
slabs of laminated beech, each measuring 1,800mm x 250mm. A
central shallow recess of 330mm width runs along the full length. This
gives a bench size of 1,800 x 830mm. There is the provision to add a
180mm (7”) York woodworking vice to each side, two vice mounting
kits are included. The frame is made from 80mm square legs and 90 x
40mm braces, firmly bolted together to form a rigid frame; two birch
ply panels create a 1,340 x 705mm shelf within the legs, supported on
the braces. Easy to assemble, this is reminiscent of a traditional school
woodworking bench brought up-to-date.
No vices are included with this bench, they are available as an
optional extra. Please note: Axminster recommends sealing the
bench with two or three coats of finishing varnish on the top,
underside and dog holes. This treatment should be maintained
from time to time.

Workbench
This is a heavy duty four sided woodworking bench made of
quality, European, kiln dried beech wood. It is designed for use
in an educational environment to allow up to four students to
share a sensible sized workspace. The top is 1200mm square and
made from 40mm deep timber. It stands on substantial 70mm
square legs with 40 x 70mm horizontals ensuring that when the
whole assembly is bolted together it forms a very rigid structure.
The placement of the legs would allow a wheelchair user to
comfortably access this bench. There is a 600mm square recess in
the top which is filled by a reversible tray; this tray either lies flush
with the surface to give a large working area or, when reversed,
acts as a tool well. This square style of bench can also be very
useful when working on furniture and similar large items. The
optional 7” Quick Release woodworking vices are also European
manufactured and there are four vice fitting kits supplied with
each bench. Flat packed, there is some assembly work required.

We are proud to have these beautifully crafted workbenches in our range. Lie-Nielsen has a reputation for quality classic hand
tools, beautifully made by experienced craftsman. That same dedication and craftsmanship now goes into producing a range of
workbenches. A workbench is one of the most important tools in the workshop. It needs to be flat, stable and heavy. Lie-Nielsen use
hard maple for their workbenches, a stable, heavy and tough timber. They machine the worktops to within a tolerance of 2.5mm. All
joints are drawbored mortise and tenon joints, ensuring the joint will always remain tight. Each bench is finished with a mixture of
spar-varnish, boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits to seal the wood. These are benches made to last a lifetime.

The Studio bench is for those who don’t have the huge workshop
but still want a quality well built workbench. Again, it is all
constructed from hard maple and still boasts the 4” solid worktop
of the larger bench. Including the tail vice, it has an overall length
of 1524mm and a working width of 508mm, giving you plenty of
space. The tail vice has a 127mm travel and the shoulder vice a
travel of 177mm with a clamping capacity of 485mm. The trestle
legs are 2.3/4” square and run flush with the bench. Benches are
supplied with two vice handles and two wooden square dogs.
Benches come as a standard 889mm working height.

Lie Nielsen Workbench
The Lie-Nielsen Workbench is perfect for any workshop. Like all
Lie-Nielsen benches, it is made from North American maple and
has a generous work surface (2130 x 610mm). The top is over
100mm thick and sealed to help with wear and for protection. It
has usefully placed square dog holes to receive the two wooden
dogs provided. It has a 570mm (clamping surface) shoulder vice
with over 200mm of travel. Handles can be mounted on either
side of the vice making clamping easy and secure. The trestle
legs are 3” square and are designed to run flush with the bench.
Each bench comes at a standard 889mm (35”) working height.
However, other working heights are available 864mm (34”)
and 915mm (36”).

Scandinavian timber. Designed for the serious

Sjobergs Nordic Plus 1450 Bench
With a benchtop manufactured from hand selected
slow growing Nordic birch, this bench is built to
last a lifetime of normal use, and comes with a 10
years warranty from Sjobergs of Sweden. The sturdy
underframe is made from Scandinavian pine with a
movement resisting H design.
Both vices can be mounted on the front for heavy duty clamping
or one at either end for clamping in two positions and maximum
clamping distance. The Nordic bench is equally suited to right or
left-handed working. There are four mounting locations for the
vices allowing you to configure the bench to best suit your work.
A double row of 19mm (3/4”) dog holes runs from each of the
four vice locations, giving an endless opportunity to clamp your
work. 4 plastic coated steel bench dogs are supplied as standard,
which help protect your edge tools. The bench dogs are reversible
for thin workpieces and are held in place by a ball catch, so they
don’t drop out when setting your work; these push flush when
not required. The top is varnished for longevity.
Nordic benches can also be fitted with the accessory cupboard
and drawer kit (0042) and the optional pair of Holdfasts (ST03),
which can be located in any of the dog holes on the worktop or in
the holes on the front legs of the bench. Made in Sweden.

the top and up it pops (about 8mm projection). When you are
done, just press down to recess the stop back into the hole. The
solid brass body has a 2° inward slope to hold the wood securely.
The spring mechanism is height adjustable to accommodate
hole depths of between 50mm and 62mm with a diameter of
3/4”(19mm). For deeper holes, use a dowel spacer. When used
in a through hole, the dog sits on a steel plate screwed to the
underside of the worktop. Additional stop plates are available in a
package of four to allow you to set up additional bench locations.
